Art, Demos and Bug Fixes Talk!

This project is not dead! I am just super busy with work to fully focus on Efflorescence. But a huge shoutout to Neonblack and Sixth for helping me pinpoint and fix a bug in this game.

For those who are curious, the bug was that you can't save during messages as the busts/sprites would get wiped off the screen. There was also an issue with the namebox and such. But that has been fixed! Again, thank you Sixth for helping me find the bug. It was such a hard script to understand.

I also want to thank Fomar for helping me find a bug in my AI script, which is summed up to me just flipping my <= and >= as well as forgetting to check that everyone has x state instead of just one condition. I was derpy.

We were planning a demo release for this game during RS!D but it didn't happen. However, my waifu Marimo, did a great job preparing the character concept art for the demo story for this game. It covers the events that happen before the main story of Efflorescence.

We hope to deliver a playable experience soon and hopefully after the storm quells down. But for now, enjoy the demo characters sketches!

Because there's still time until the Jam ends and everyone is probably polishing their games to bits in order to show the best that can be shown. A day or two left before the end~ I'm getting excited!

This is definitely a really pretty game and I'm looking forward to dating surviving with everyone~

Ooh this reminds me of DR2 Island Mode! That's interesting! Subscribed~
Did any of you play Unlimited SaGa? I liked the "board game-inspired setup," but it was a big problem for most players. Were there any development considerations relating to other board game-like video games, including Unlimited SaGa?

I tried and failed spectacularly by ONE.SINGLE.BUG and partly based on my baka-ness ;~;

I never played Unlimited Saga so that was interesting to hear. I never did any board game inspired setup research. The gameplay I had for the maps was based on my canned game, Dimension Rift, Riviera: The Promised Land and partly Neoku's At the End of the Deep Blue Sky. I wasn't really able to make use of the system before so I thought why not use here. It's only inspired and doesn't really follow dice rolls to be honest.
That's interesting to hear! Now that I think on it, not many people have played Unlimited SaGa. XD It had what was essentially a lot of dice rolls, but in particular it used board-game-like maps for dungeons. Your characters were even little pewter statues that moved in compass directions one space at a time. It was a charming failure, though. So when I read there were board game inspiration-y-ness, I wondered if anyone had ever thought about Unlimited SaGa or other games--what worked and what didn't.

But you look to have more of a paper tabletop style of resource management. I'm really looking forward to checking it out!

Here's an example of it, for curiosity's sake. The image in the upper left is a flavor image of what the area looks like, the yellow road is the "board" that reveals itself in sections as you move around, and the gray character is your representative piece.
This looks shit. Kiss my pink ass~ ;p
@Liberty mmm whatcha say?

@Merlandese yeah I saw an LP of it and it seems like wasted potential :(
I'll try it out and study though! I heard there's like an encyclopedia/manual in Japan to even beat it hahaha

Hilariously enough, I later saw that gameplay vid, said to myself 'Oh, that's a good idea!', and snipped it for my references folder XD
Subbed to so many of your games. I'm a big fan of yours. Can't wait to try this and Night of Marian when it becomes active again =]
I'm excited about this. Despite the huge controversy about the beard/gender of Christina (really tho, you said she's a girl, people should calm themselves) it looks really amazing, especially the characters and art!
this looks interesting! is it still worked on? :)
