When's the full release? :)

Wow! Truly an impressive demo. Beautiful art, creepy, curious and cute all at the same time. The projector movie animation was also well done and pretty disturbing. (I liked the shocked face the meat had). The mc is very 2d though and I wish she had a bit more of a personality. Right now she feels more like a gameplay mechanic than an actual character. (And this may just be because it's a demo). Having her respond to anything; the fact that she's trapped, the glitchy movies that play, the items in the rooms would really help.

you're right, she is kind of a bore haha. we thought that would be okay for just the demo, but we've definitely fleshed her out more for the full game!
@terrorchen, @IvoryOwl

we didn't intend for the game to be about abortion, although with just the demo it totally seems that way. I think that in the context of the full game's story, the events in the demo will take on a completely new meaning!
also, the demo will be roughly the first quarter of the full game

The art-style in this game really is something else. The atmosphere and creepiness is reminiscent of the oldest Silent Hill games, and that's a good thing. That concept for a villain is quite interesting too - its creepy but kind of charming at the same time. The game shots a lot of potential and I sincerely hope it gets the attention it deserves. Also... is this game about abortion?
SPOILERS
I can't help but feel that the doll is actually the soul of a baby who never had the chance to live, to feel love. I say this because of the hanged embryo above the cradle. The book entitled "Envy and Desire" are quite possibly a hint to what he is.

END OF SPOILERS
Its quite sad now that I think about it. Maybe that's why I feel sympathy for him, even though he is creepy as heck.

PS 1: That save-girl is probably the cutest save-state I've ever seen. The sound she makes is as she speaks is so adorable that I just want to hug her!

PS 2: How much different is this demo going to be from the full game? I ask because some demos are made with the intention of showcasing the gameplay, not the actual story (to avoid spoilers when the full game releases).
You can tell that there has been a lot of effort put into details. The environments are splendid, the character portraits have moving mouths (+ the face swapping between dolls is nice) and it is all just a little bit unsettling. I quite like having your photo taken when saving. The sound charactes make while talking is slightly annoying, but I guess also a little unsettling.

The atmosphere is really interesting. It has a certain warmth to it.. it is quite nostalgic. But also switching to and fro unsettling. It makes you curious. And that is what games like these really need.
And, most of all, the general theme and antagonist is already neatly introduced.
It all comes together very, very well - which is the most improtant and most difficult part. These movies really cater to the nostalgic feeling.

It is fairly slow-paced, but I think this is one of the few games it suits well.
It is just a shame that the movies are not running properly on fullscreen .. they are quite grotesque. I like them.

I usually avoid games of this genre, but one can expect great things from this.
HOLY CRAP THIS GAME HAS MOVING MOUTHS LIKE WHAT
Could this have something to do with abortion, perhaps? Some of the dialogue seemed like it.
When I got to the third favor, seems you made a mistake in the diary entry: "And the essence of violet even returns dead creatures to life."
At first I thought, why violet, I only have a blue potion left. Probably I can combine blue and red potion to get a violet one but it seems I can't do that since it would say "You already collected this potion." so I thought maybe the violet potion is hidden somewhere in another room but in the end I still couldn't find it despite searching for it back and forth.
I wanted to give up but then I decided to use the blue potion instead and... it worked. Only then I realized even the color of the text "essence of violet" is in blue, so it has to be blue.

The game is pretty eerie and very interesting. The puzzles are not that easy, not that difficult, just right I guess. Although I really can't get pass that baby...I'm not really good at running away parts in games, it stresses me out especially if there are obstacles on the way but it's a good thrill for those who are up for it.

If you think it is that good don't forget to nominate it for a Misao.
Amazing demo, can't wait for the full release!!!♥♥♥ Definitely one of the most well made RPG maker games I've ever played in a while. I made a little let's play of it on my channel, please check it out if you have the time :D
The game itself is wonderful, both in graphics and gameplay (it's nice to not get stuck for ten minutes at puzzles for once!). One thing I would say is that it lacks proper buildup. I know it's just a demo, but the few intro sentences aren't really enough to make us feel like starting the game in the room is natural. Perhaps a little cutscene showing her chasing the cat would make it flow a little better?

Speaking of cutscenes, the film sequence was amazing!
Really looking forward to playing out the demo. Would love to throw the demo out there on my Let's Play channel. I'll post back here with some links once its all finished up so that you can view it if you like. <3 This game looks amazing so far. Looking forward to a completed version.

thanks, sinnelius! sorry about the length; hopefully, the full game will be longer w/ more puzzle variety.
we started working in july/august, so ~3 months?
3 months, full time? I am amazed, you did well!

How did you go about the workload?

haha not exactly full time; we're both college students.
about the workload, it really helps motivation-wise to have some following/audience (start a devblog!)
also, splitting the work up into parts and setting deadlines for yourself is good too

Just tried the full game!

Although it felt too short and fell into the Press-X-on-everything after awhile,
it has great writings and man, what an artstyle!
Amazing experience! FInally something to review perhaps, so please finish it!

One question, how long did youtake to make this demo?
