YUKI'S ESCAPE

Well, this is basic...

What to say about this short, confusing and random game...
It was apparently made as a gift for a significant other, and maybe that's as far as it should have gotten because it doesn't offer much to a mass besides frustration.

STORY/WRITING:
This is a puzzle game, there is no story or writing beyond that. You start in a room and from there have to solve puzzles to continue. Really, there's nothing here to talk about. I'm serious. Nothing. Nada. Squat. Zlitch. Maybe that's a puzzle?...

GRAPHICS:
Standard 2k3 RTP fare. Sooo, the mapping. It's large and empty. Nothing special here. All very, very basic.
As you have see the title is just a bare bones bog-standard title screen.

This is okay, but the wall tiles are misused which is pointed out by Liberty in the images section.


It seems the top of the "secret entrance" isn't showing or isn't there. Probably should fix that unless I'm crawling into that hole.

MUSIC:
All RTP music. I guess it's fitting? The same song plays as far as I got.

GAMEPLAY:
It's a puzzle game. Not exactly my cup of tea but I do enjoy them when they are well done. This feels really random to me and doesn't make much sense unless you're the developer or someone that has the developer looking over their shoulder telling you what to do if you can't proceed. There's no kind of hints or helpful menu or guide and on one of the very first puzzles I couldn't figure it out without looking at the gamepage for help. And I still don't understand how the answer 0214 with the mirror and the angel and the time 10:46. So maybe I'm dense to this but I didn't get that one.
Just from the general consensus it seems many people have gotten stuck on the WATEr puzzle with no answer or help. So, I'm out there too.
Very confusing and really feels like a game that is mean't to be shared with a girlfriend and not a community to try and decipher.

Overall, I didn't enjoy myself. A lot of random clicking around until you get what you're looking for. Even times when I thought I solved the puzzle it didn't flourish and I ended up with nothing. Again, very frustrating.

It is what it is, I guess. If you like puzzles then I suggest this game highly, if you're looking for something to frustrate you, I recommend highly.
Otherwise, I wouldn't waste your time trying this. :(
