This is a demonstration of an idea I had for map design.

The idea was to facilitate transition between several outdoor map blocks without noticable transition, so as to create the illusion of a large, but still up-close and moveable map without actually being a huge map.

In this demo, there are three map blocks, each 50x50. There is a path with teleport events accross it placed in such a way that one would be teleported without noticing the map's edge. The map being teleported to would have a segment of the past map placed within the visible range of the teleported area, so that the transition was unnoticeable. For this to work, I would also have to have no flashy teleportation effect.

Granted, this is on a very small scale, and successful application would probably be difficult for a full-fledged game. But this is the only real contribution to the RPG Maker community that I can make, so I hope it counts.

I hope that you enjoy this idea of mine, but I hope even more that no one else has come up with it before me.

Impressive concept, but i'm not too sure what the use would be...

I thought the traditional concept of a tech demo was to demonstrate a concept, idea, or engine, not focus on artistic merit.

Making travel similar to that of World of Warcraft, or Morrowind.
Why not just... make one map..
Interesting concept, however it was kind of annoying when you paused for no reason.

But I love my ridiculous, oversized maps. :\
Interesting concept, but there is a limit on the number of maps you can have per project.
