Everything Will be Fine is a point and click adventure game about an astrobiologist named Alana trapped alone on a lifeless planet struggling to survive and escape. The game will switch between Alana’s 247th day on the planet and previous days, starting with when she first crashes and moving chronologically from there.

EWBF will feature a compelling narrative with well-designed puzzles that are intuitive and satisfying to solve. No moon logic puzzles here!

EWBF is being made in Unity using the Adventure Creator plugin.

The current demo is a release from when the game was in a different engine (oh my!). Think of it as playable concept art but expect many changes in the new version.

Currently aiming for a Fall 2017 release for the new demo.

Meet Alana! Also a Game Design Document!

Meet Alana the protagonist of Everything Will be Fine!

Alana was traveling solo on an expedition to a remote space outpost when her ship crashed into space debris and landed on what appears to be an uninhabited planet. Alana is resourceful and determined to find a way to survive and get off the planet. An astrobiologist by trade she is highly intelligent, though she lacks advanced engineering and mechanics knowledge. Studying life in space has been a lifelong dream of hers and has been supported by her parents, who she is very close with. Though she’s trying to remain hopeful she is stressed about her current situation and copes by making existential and fatalistic jokes.

After being stranded for 247 days Alana is starting to severely suffer from the prolonged isolation. She’s depressed and has been having minor auditory & visual hallucinations as well as what may be a justified sense of paranoia. With her ship nearly repaired she must survive one last day on the planet.

The above sprites and character sheet are from when she has first landed.

And here is the game design document I'm using for the demo if you want to sneak a peak at that!

Gave the demo a whirl.

Gee, that ship in the shooter mini-game looked oddly familiar!

That aside, I was a bit confused with the puzzle in the engine room. Though, once I figured out what how the heck to move things, I was pretty okay. I sorta expected more catastrophic things to happen, but, even so, the demo seriously reeled me in! Good job, Ebeth!

Familliar graphics? I have no idea what you're talking about... (;◔ิз◔ิ)~♪♬

( I'll be switching them up by the final ver. The timing of this with my color theory final collided and I didn't want my project to have incomplete graphics for class. Nice icon btw.)

Re: the sliding puzzle. If it stays proper instructions will be added. Though I may nix it so who knows.

The demo cuts off right before the main catastrophe starts. Don't worry there's plenty of time for terrible things to happen. :D
Re:re: the sliding puzzle's difficulty. It's really going to come down to the individual. I found it easy, but then again, I always enjoyed sliding puzzles as a kid so I have a general technique I follow. Having some way to see the completed puzzle might help people though if you're looking for a way to ease it up a tiny bit.

Cashmere expressed a dislike for the sliding puzzle, especially as the first main puzzle of the game. I happen to enjoy sliding puzzles (and solved this one during playtesting an ungodly amount of times) but I don't want to force people who dislike them to suffer through it. I'm thinking about keeping it but making an option so if the player gets stuck/ doesn't want to complete it they can just skip over it.

There's also the issue that it randomly shuffles each time. So it could shuffle into an extremely difficult to solve formation for one player and an easy one for someone else. Having an image of what it should look like might help too, though technically the room itself is identical to the puzzle.
