You know you're on an English speaking community, don't you? Then why!? Why on earth are you posting reviews in Spanish for!? What are you trying to achieve? ...This is a clear disrespect to the people who frequent this site and constantly try to make it (one of) the best rpg maker community(ies) on the internet, regardless of their nationality, regardless of what their native language is; You don't see reviews in Swedish, or Tagalog, do you? - Well, then? What do you have to say?

Geez! Way to embarrass us people who come from Spanish speaking rm communities. =/
More importantly is why is a foreign review accepted?

Greetings good sir.

First off, I haven't seen any rules here about having to write our reviews necessarily in English. Proof enough is that my review was accepted in Spanish.

Second, it's far easier for me to write my reviews in Spanish because, obviously, it is my native language. That's why I do it, I'm not trying to archieve nothing more than to share my thoughts of the game with fellow Spainsh-speaking people or to anyone who might understand it.

I fail to see how this is a "clear disrespect". If somebody doesn't understand Spanish, they just have to use google translator, get their English-Spanish dictionary or, simply, skip my review.

5. As users continue to find ways to skirt the rules and bring the site down into a foul stench, we will update the rules accordingly. However, the lack of an explicit rule on a topic should not illicit bad behavior just because "it's not a rule". You will be held accountable for not only your adherence to stated rules but also your levels of civility and common sense.

Just extrapolate the context of that quote to the issue at hand here and you'll have my answer to your first remark. Secondly, just because the people in charge of the submission queue forgot to take their eye medicine doesn't make it right that this got accepted...

You also seem fluent enough to have written this review in English, but you choose not to do so. And if you want to share your thoughts with Spanish speaking people only then there are better places for that; I know you know, I've seen your nick around before.

And what you fail to see is how this is not a 'clear disrespect' Look, the only one that should do the "google-translating" here is YOU! As choppy as the result might be that would at least show a smudge of consideration towards the majority of the people who frequent and read this site. Otherwise what you're practically saying is: "Do my job translating or go away, this review is not for you" ¿Comprendes?
Oh, grow up. You want some xenophobic dumbass site where no one has to learn anything about the world around them, then make it yourself.

When I saw the site's new look and read about the new "standards", I thought this place had gotten all stuck-up. Clearly, though, that isn't the case. I applaud the staff for allowing non-English reviews; it both broadenings the site's potential audience and pisses off simpletons who can't be bothered to learn a language that's not all that hard to learn.
¡Jajaja! (That's 'spanish' for Hahaha!) What the hell are you talking about? This has nothing to do with xenophobia; if it were I would be more like: "We shouldn't even let them damn foreigners join this site" which would be helluva stupid specially considering I'm one of 'them damn foreigners'. But if you ask me or ask plenty of others like me, most of us would agree that it is not advisable to submit content on our native languages... Sure, you may think is cool for a while, and maybe you'll translate a review or two out of curiosity, or for the kindness of your heart, but you're kidding yourself if you think you'll learn a whole new language just because of it. Pretty soon you'll just roll your eyes at content you can't understand and that will only hurt even more and already polarized site...

So you see? this is not some social issue where you have to make such a strong stand for, specially if in reality all you're going to do is call other people names. =P

(Granted, I may be making of this a bigger deal than it really is, but I don't think I'm being at all unreasonable.)

I just think it's too short to be accepted. Especially the other review he wrote. It's beginning to feel a lot like RRR standards.

I totally agree! No offense alterego but you're not making yourself look good with the "Speak english or GTFO!" attitude.

Edit:Oops! just caught your comment, but I still think you're being a tad aggressive to poor little Yunkel :(
but like 90% of the userbase can't understand this. alterego has a point.

Sir, I like quick reviews, in fact I skip long reviews because of the time it takes to read them, and there are many people who is like me in this regard. For they (and myself) I'll keep them short and to the point.

As for the topic with Alterego, look mi amigo, I kinda understand your point but please let me do what I want with my reviews and do whatever you want with yours. Ok?

I'm not saying short reviews are always bad, but there have been tons of past discussions on the topic and it was decided that length was a necessary factor to consider in accepting reviews. Some of the ones over at RRR are 1 or 2 lines long, and it's awful. None of us want to see that happen here, and shorter reviews like these being accepted has me a bit worried that that's the way things will start to go.
While I agree that the review should be longer, I disagree with the fact that reviews in other languages shouldn't be accepted. As far as I've seen, many non-English games are submitted and accepted. And that's totally great. If you don't understand or you're not interested, you can simply ignore them. I'm a Spanish speaker too.

And... that 10% that can understand Spanish should have the same rights as the English ones... You're just making it seem like you're superior and everything else should be banned, which is not right.
Yeah, this was just us trying to assert our superiority; After all it's not like there has been any arguments coming from our side... But I guess I'd better stop here before you call the ACLU or something.

Still, my apologies to everybody. I hate being the one bringing drama to a game's review and to the site in general. - I just think this kind of thing should matter, but apparently they don't. Apparently nothing ever does.

Edit: X, you're unknowingly just reinforcing my point. =/
Instead of trying to unify everything and everyone, you just try to make the gap bigger. Good for you. Yeah, these kind of things should matter, 'cause people from other cultures, countries and communities shouldn't be allowed (?).

It's just a review in Spanish, as I've seen games in Portuguese (or some langs I don't even know) here. Just skip them. They're not hurting anyone.

it's an english website though...so i guess they don't exactly have the same 'rights' if that's what you want to call it. you can't go around posting in spanish on the forums...well i mean you could, but it's just kind of rude, don't you think?
im not huge on this issue because you can just use google translate, just seems a bit backward to let non-english reviews pass seeing as we've been going over the issue of ensuring people actually read a review instead of just looking at the score for ages. ofc it's different if the game/author speaks the other language.

hah, are you kidding me! not all that hard to learn? learning a language fluently takes fucking years. we can't all be linguists.

"learning a language fluently takes fucking yearsé" agree with that.
Could we at least get a google-translated version attached to the review? I know people can do it themselves, but... why should they have to?
