Ok what's up with the unfrozen lake surrounded by ice on three sides. Mystical? Or something as prosaic as fed from underwater hot springs?
Maybe it's the biggest hot spring in the world

Argh. You ruthless editor xD

Might as well be that the lake is normal and the ice is magical ;)
LOL!

That's what this game is about, can't you tell? A quest for the largest hot spring in the world! There are some fancy magical crystals and some other important crap down there! Wizards block it! A child from a destroyed town has been asked to retrieve it!

Obviously.

For real though: That map is huge. I gotta desmallen it down...
Go for it, but please keep the Hot spring. It just wouldn't be the same without it xD

Nah, just kiddin'. It is better in anyway to have a more managable map, not only for the poor guy who has to fill it all but also for the player.

I also often See World-Maps in RPG-Makers that piss me the hell off, because there is a Map that I need 2 hours to go around and yet there are 10 or maybe 15 things at best connected to it, which just doesn't justify to have that big map in the first place (except if there are parts of it that are generally unreachable, that's ok then, since nobody forces you to give the player "THE Airship" to check if the hotspring exists... but... well... it'd better exist! *evil eyes*)

Heehee, well that was fun.

Seriously though, keep the hot springs. Maybe the island in the middle is actually an ancient caldera and there is still a pocket of magma under the surface keeping the lake above from freezing.

or you know, magic and stuff.
