Occult...Do you believe in it?
Would you sacrifice someone to prolong your life?
The story of 'The Room' follows our occult loving protagonist who gets an apartment for a very cheap price.
For the first few days everything seemed fine, but then weird things start happening when some special conditions are met.
What are these conditions?
What exactly is happening in the apartment?
The screenshots won't tell you anything.
It's a short game but contains multiple endings, so it'll take some time to find all endings.
Also, some endings are hard to get.
Note :
The game starts off as a Visual Novel then it becomes a RPG later on. Therefore, this game contains a lot of text.
This game contains references to Satanism and black magic, so player's discretion is advised.
Before playing, adjust the brightness so that it's neither too dark nor too bright.
Finally, play in a dark room with headphones on, and crank up the volume.
Most importantly, pay attention to everything, as you may be required to memorize certain information.

Amazing title screen
intros too long and unskippable,you cant save so if you choose no don't answer the phone you have to go thru all of that all over again!
after your character turns the light off to go to bed the gap between that and the scene is too long making the player consider the game froze
slow text you cant rapidly skip,like at a set speed and repeating unnecessarily sometimes
too many bodies in the room theres only supposed to be 14 total
rpg such a throw off lol...also skills should not say no effect if they can actually work
that's misleading
why did not answering your phone cancel the events that happen? this was never explained

considering the length of the game there is alot of spelling/awkward wording in this game. based on American english anyway.
this game did a fair job of making me feel uncomfortable
i did not care about the character or plot.
the choices were a nice touch and the lighting for me was the best part of this experience :3
personally would like the game to improve some things b4 id really recommend it.

I did a small let's play over it. Granted I almost gave up because I swear I didn't think that one item would work but hey. Good news is I beat it.
I like the idea behind the game. Stuck in a room and very little options trying to figure things out.
The "secret" ending threw me in for a loop..will admit that.

Thanks for the unbiased review of the game. I'll fix the things you mentioned as soon as possible.A few things I've already fixed and the remaining I'll fix in the next few days. This time I'll upload only when I fix everything in the game.

Fixed that. Now you can skip the intro. I've also added saves before crucial choices.

Fixed that too. Reduced the time gap. I've also changed the time of the phone scene,so that it finishes quickly.

Removed the pauses in the message to improve the speed. Now it's a lot faster to read the messages.

Well, he *can* evade the attacks. The attacks are not supposed to hit him every time.

I never intended to explain that scene as it's left up to the player's interpretation. But I can give an explanation to you if you want.

As far as the game goes, for an actual review. The game itself is "fine" considering it's relatively short and it doesn't take much to do anything. It's just a matter of trying things out before and after, in my case anyways haha. I would say there's not much to change besides maybe wording and a few things. The hints were mainly there. It's a matter of checking.
For the final fight, I figured it was possible but I don't really want to spend hours finding out. Maybe I will. We'll see.

I wanted to create it short, as full length game take a lot of time to create. Also, my previous full length game couldn't get finished due to a HDD failure during the development; Therefore, I wanted to create something short and have a sense of accomplishment---The result is The Room.

HaHa! Yeah, that's beyond miracles. You know, that game was around 90% complete when my HDD failed. But I don't care about it anymore. Also, I learned some lessons from my mistake of not keeping a back up.:)
You can help me adding a review to this game, I would totally love it.
