Love the basic RPG mechanics but tired of saving the World? How about Conquering it? Well I'm happy to tell you that's pretty much what Flip Dimensions is about. However, In order to get your hands on the world you live in, you must travel across the multi verse fighting other Dark Lords and prove you are the strongest of the all!

Kazuki is a dark lord who wants to conquer the kingdom of Theiweth, but all his dreams are crushed when a farm boy from a forest village with no combat experience whatsoever destroys all of Kazuki’s evil dreams (Don’t you hate it when that happens?). With help from his right hand butler, Minori, Kazuki was able to escape his castle to live another day. Upon hearing about a legendary item that can grant wishes, Kazuki sets out to look for it still with the evil eyes bent on conquering the world... Only to later find out that the path to his wish may not be worth the effort and that the world he lives in may not be what it seems...

Features
-20+ hours of gameplay.
-Eight worlds, each with their own unique theme.
-Resource-manage physical attacks with a unique TP system.
-Extra endings available through New Game Plus.

Minor Update and Request

I have recently updated the download link with a new version of the game, nothing special, it's just that I saw my brother play through the game and noticed a handful of bugs and typos that needed to be fixed.

That was about two months ago. I don't remember what most of those specific changes are, unfortunately.

I also streamlined the download page. No more patches or a non-RTP version of the game. I feel like a 600 MB file is a much less tedious download in 2024 that it was in 2016.

But the reason I'm making this post was because I considering making a Definitive Edition version of the game, a port to MZ that could feel more complete as a product that properly concludes some plot threads that I was intentionally (and naively) saving for a sequel.

This version of the game would be it's own page. If it were to exist, I don't want it to replace this version of the game. So I figured I might as well make more drastic changes such as revamping elements of the combat and dungeons. I've been working with some friends on a design documents of sorts that details a lot of the changes I have in mind, but I would also request that anyone currently reading this who has played the game and has their experience fresh enough in mind to make any suggestions of what they would personally like to see, or things they don't want to change. The goal isn't to adhere to all this requests, but to consider them so I don't end up releasing a version of the game that feels alien to the original.

Thank you for your time,
Seacliff

Sorry for the double post, but I just found an odd bug. Even more odd is that is hasn't been reported yet, since the bug is game-breaking and can be easily triggered.

During chapter 7, the game alternates between two parties. When the second party completes the first part of Cerebral Mountains after having found the Climbing Claws, the game switches back to the first party. Now the player is supposed to sign up for the next fight in the arena (against team "Monsters"), but if (s)he leaves the colosseum instead, an earlier cutscene is repeated, then the game switches back to the second party next to the Climbing Claws treasure chest. Also, the second party can now walk all over the map until the player triggers the climbing animation once. Now the player can complete the first part of Cerebral Mountains again, but when the game switches back to the first party then, the cutscene doesn't play out so that the player gets stuck and is forced to reload a previous save. Fortunately, the fight against team "Monsters" is easy, which means the player can escape the "lockdown", and afterwards the bug isn't present anymore.

Always seeking opportunities for sequence-breaking, this is the punishment I deserve. :D

Hello.
The directions keys (up,down, left, right) stops working sometimes in the vulcano.Down the first stair that`s a lot of "shift"arrows there.
What can cause that?Is it intended?Hard to think that.
Congrats to complete a game, and a fun one.
EDIT:When i unlock numlock it was just fine.Strange.
I'll check the location, but it's sounding like the issue is on the client side.
Was it just the arrow keys? Did the menu button work?

I'll look into it, will likely have it fixed by tonight.
Edit: Patch uploaded
The menu works there. It`s probarly on my side, when i took away numlock it worked just fine.
EDIT:Problem, when
Med s party(of three) reaches the top of the stairs to the left sides caves, then suddenly the room with Seth in the mirror shows up.But nobody is in the room and if you press"action" then Seth just wishes us good luck. This is after the scene where Seth first shows up and it all turns to Med s party again.

EDIT 2.Now i see that you have a patch that maybe can solve my problem.Gonna try now.

I don't recall patching such a scenario, but I believe I don't completely understand the situation.

Seth should revealed himself after the Cerebral Montians Dungeon, but you say you have seen the scene before that moment? When? The dungeon's exit is sealed shut shortly after that scene too.

I've taken a look at the event, and there should be nothing that should warp the player back to Med via the Looker rooms.
Hello.
Will try to be more clear, after the cutscene where Seth first shows up you are taken back to the mountains and Goddes,Robot and ninja, and there you can climb to the right( where the tent is and the left,if you climb up to the left inside the cave at the top of the stairs when you go "out" there you end up in the room with the mirror. But nobody is there, except Seth who wish you good luck(again i think he just did it in the cutscene with the other party).
EDIT:I can try to give my savefile if it helps.English is not my first language and sometimes i can`t explain so good what i`m thinking.
Kenlan, do you by any chance mean this bug that I addressed recently? Since I played through that part not too long ago, this is the only explanation I can think of, but then I wonder why you didn't mention the repeated cutscene (see below).

Talking about (potential) bugs, here are some more so that seacliff217 is really motivated to patch up his game. :)

- Shoaling, Water Shrine: I think the door that is supposed to be opened using the Water Key can actually be opened without the Water Key in the party's inventory (I'm pretty sure I first opened the door and then found the Water Key).

- Shoaling, Water Shrine: After the dungeon has been cleared, the player can't return to the boss room due to how the switches work (although it's unlikely that the player misses anything because of this). In Mizu Sacrarium, though, most of the dungeon is inaccessible during a post boss visit.

- Chapter 8, Sineba, Mirror Hall: Passing the last set of nails and letting them reactivate (while trying to revisit the boss room) actually turns out to be game-breaking, since there's no way out. A simple solution would be another green switch right of the last set of nails. The same applies to Tower Infinity in Takeura when returning to the boss room (the player can't leave, because there isn't a switch to turn off that one flame). By the way, I can't be the only one who revisits every room he couldn't manually explore before. :D

- Chapter 8, Mylitta, Factory One: Laser Cannon 2.0 Ver 76 GOTY Edition is surprisingly weak (goes down in one hit), comparable to Final Security 802 in Factory Two.

- Chapter 8, Mylitta: Reentering Factory One (and then leaving) after having defeated the boss seems to permanently disable the menu's save function. The same applies to reentering Frozen Heights (Ayldan). Spending the night at an inn doesn't solve the problem; progressing the story (i.e. being teleported from a save-disabled to a save-enabled location) could or could not be the only way to remedy this.

- Chapter 8, Takeura, Tower Infinity: Turning upwards or downwards while standing on a flame tile that can't send the player to a lower floor freezes the game (game-breaking).

- Chapter 8, Takeura, Tower Infinity: The bridge-collapsing parts (especially the ones that must be triggered in order to advance) don't trigger when using auto-dash. On one of the higher floors, though (the one on which the monster floats across the abyss), it seems the passage can only be completed by using auto-dash.

- Chapter 8, Shoaling: After having completed Mizu Sacrarium, I was able to cruise over palms using the ship (at least this doesn't seem to provide an opportunity to get permanently stuck).

It would be nice if you, seacliff217, could answer two questions before I venture into the final dungeon tomorrow: Are there any (missable) party events to be found in remote world map areas (east of the desert on Sineba, around Night City on Mylitta, western and eastern parts of Takeura's world map, Frosty Castle region on Aylden)? Can anything new be discovered in previously visited dungeons? Normally, I would check this myself (and I already did here and there), but somehow I don't feel like it if there isn't anything (new) to miss. Thanks in advance.

Could you pm me the save file? I'm afraid I still can't find the source of the issue.

Thanks for this, I really do appreciate it. I'll patch the game once I get this, and what kenlan is reporting.

Edit: I could get to the water dungeon boss room just find. (Left switch once, right switch twice). What happens when you try it?
Regardless, getting to the boss room gave me another bug I should fix, so thanks for bringing it up regardless.

1. I placed all the party events in either near the entrance of the world or on the way to the dungeon, so you likely found all of them. There are no party events in the broad locations you mentioned.

They mostly exist because it was an easier way to keep party members active than making alternative versions of cutscenes depending on what party members you currently have. I wanted Chapter 8 to be non-linear, but I didn't want the party members to be mostly silent after joining like in the World of Ruin in FF6. (God forbid I use soulless ambiguous party dialogue in quotations as that game did.)

I would have retroactively added some in earlier parts of the game, but it didn't feel necessary since the party is active enough in cutscenes.

2. No

This isn't something I normally do, but since this gimmick seems to be causing so many problems, I'm going to overhaul Tower Infinity.
Thanks, my fear of missing out on important stuff has been successfully treated - for now. :)

You're right, the Water Temple boss room can indeed be reached again. It seems I didn't fully grasp how the switches work (especially that the setting is more complex than simply on/off), and was simply lucky the first time around. My bad.
Yes it can be that bug you mentioned KyleLascar, i was maybe not so clear about how
i explained. But i`m gonna send seacliff my save file beacause i really can`t get it to work with the patch.
I`m stuck there in the room there the cutscene doesn`t plays out for the second time.
But i took an earlier savefile and continued to battle against team monster and the others and it seems to work now, just like you said KyleLascar.
But maybe it is best if it`s possible to get rid of the bug.
Yeah, then it's likely that you encountered the bug I had mentioned. If you defeated team 'Monsters', you should be safe from now on, and you can leave the Colosseum after every fight without any trouble.

It's possible that the patch only works for newly started games, but I'm sure seacliff217 will tend to that issue.
Okay, kenlan sent me his save file and I was able to track the source of the issue.

It was the same bug KyleLascar encountered, however, the current patch didn't fix that because he saved within the dungeon leaving him permanently stuck within it.

However, the patch should prevent anyone from encountering this issue again.
I just finished New Game Plus, and if there aren't more than 10 endings including the New Game Plus exclusive ones, then I watched them all. Thanks for a really entertaining game, seacliff217. Even though it can't excel in all aspects, Flip Dimensions is one of the funniest JRPGs I've ever had the pleasure of playing.

Here's the last batch of (potential) bugs:

- Chapter 8:
There's a lot of NPC dialogue in the cities that - because of the reboot - isn't fitting anymore. Beside the examples covered in the screenshots, I can think of, for instance, the barkeeper in Ayldan and Seth in the Colosseum's mirror in Hippocampus capital (each only during chapter 8 respectively).

- Skills: It's possible (but shouldn't be) to activate the Dual Ingen Radiated Charge (Bolt/Ilva) at least once from the menu, although it doesn't work with regard to the next battle. I didn't test, though, if doing this affects this skill's usability in battle.

- Chapter 8: I don't know if this is intended, but Mizu Sacrarium (Shoaling) doesn't spawn if Shoaling is revisited first or out of order.

- Chapter 8:
At least Suphis still has the buffs/debuffs from the fight against Konton when he rejoins the party for the Mirror Hall boss battle.

- Chapter 8, Nephilim Chamber: I don't know if this is intended: The elemental chests can also be killed/opened by using skills that deal defense ignoring damage (Holy Darkness, Holy Fire). Admittedly, I was glad this worked, since otherwise I had to equip Bolt with the Energy Ring (he doesn't start with enough TP to use his thunder skills in the first round).

Well, that's it. Let's hope that Flip Dimensions gets the well-deserved featured game spot rather sooner than later.
I'm really glad you enjoyed the game, KyleLascar.

I'll be sure to add the last bit of issues before uploading the game again.

This wasn't initially intentional, but it was brought to my attention before and I decided to keep it. It is actually possible to open all the chests with the intended elements. But otherwise, think of it as a 'thinking outside of the box' reward of sorts.
Hi seacliff! I'm still going to play this as I planned to.

Hope you are doing well.

I also just have one question, should I add the patch and overwrite any files related to it onto the game? If I don't get a response, I'll be doing that, so hope that's right.
If you are downloading the game now, you won't need the patch.

The patch is for people who downloaded earlier versions of the game and don't want to download a 400+ MB project again. (I'll see about lowering that down the line too).

I have a friend who playtests the game and still uses dial-up, and it takes over an hour to download the game. That's where the idea came from.
Ok, thanks for letting me know that!

I hope I can still play your game soon. Hopefully though I will one day be able to get around to this, one day soon I hope.

Take care!
This game also contains sexual abuse, which is amazing.

If you are referring to that one scene in Chapter 4, it didn't happen the way you think it did.
I entered the snow world/chapter and started laughing at the thought of finding Rin Coins.

It was neat though the difficulty on those Rin Coins was still at a fair level. It didn't play out as being super hard as I thought it may have, but I was still looking at all the white tiles so carefully just in-case!

Anyway, I am near the end of the game and spotted a minor issue that you may want to update. A certain character near the end of game has the skill Transfer, but in the description it says Kazuki, instead of that character.

Noted. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
It's not enough for me to update the game again. But if I get enough issues minor or stop getting issues for a certain amount of time, I'll update them all at once.

I won't make nearly as big of a deal about it like I did for this recent update though.
