Long ago, in the realm of Rumara, there existed two great deities. Jaizen, who believed in good will and peace above all, and Amaya, who believed the world should be filled with destruction and chaos. These two god's fought constantly for years to decide who would rule over the universe, but due to their equal powers, they were unable to crown a victor. Soon enough, Amaya came up with an idea. She proposed that they both create lesser beings of themselves and have them sort out their conflicts for them. This brought upon the birth of the Exceed, and a war that lasted 500 years known as "The Karma War".

For 500 years, they watched the Exceed slaughter each other in the name of their master. While Amaya was enjoying herself with the battle, Jaizen had come to realize what a fool he was. He had been tricked into giving Amaya what she wanted. Hoping to end the senseless bloodshed, Jaizen pleaded to Amaya, hoping that she would agree to a truce, but she was too stubborn and his words fell on deaf ears. With no other option, Jaizen took it upon himself to try and stop the war by force, attemping to rise the Exceed from the planet with his own powers. Amaya would not let this happen, and from his blindside she struck her hand through his chest, draining away his powers slowly. Though she had believed she won, her plan backfired, as she began to be sucked inside his body instead.

Though Amaya had been defeated, Jaizen had felt a sense of regret deep within him over the decision he made, and knew what he had to do to make it right. He lifted the remaining Exceed from the planet Karma, and placed them upon the new formed city of Mavin, which rested high above the universe. He then split Karma into five seperate planets, and placed rules upon the universe. Finally seeing his time to the end, he condensed himself into a sword known as "Acacius", which shattered and placed themselves deep within the core of the five planets. As the sword pieces struck, they brought new life to the world, both good and bad.

Now a new evil has risen, breaking the will of Jaizen in an attempt to revive Amaya back into the world. Follow Oboro and Vira Lazera, as they traverse the five planets to stop the threat and bring peace back to Rumara.

RoT: Age of Arius Development Blog 1: Kickstarter Discussion, New Music Samples, Demo Production

Hello everyone! Jason Williams here to talk about a few things as well as show off some of the stuff we've been working on since our hiatus in January. After our Kickstarter and our Art Director taking her trip to England, we've been having to stop production for a short time to sort things out and wait for her arrival, but now that shes back, and we've figured out what we're doing, we are now in full gear!

Kickstarter Development
So originally before we posted the game to rpgmaker.net, we started a Kickstarter back towards the end of Novemember to acquire the funds needed to finish the game.

Reference: Kickstarter Link

We naturally did not acquire the funds needed to pass and that was due to three elements that we did not take into mind before launching the project. First, We decided on a goal amount that was way too high for any Indie Developer without a name in the community, which hit us hard. Second, we did not take into mind the fact that we had launched a project during the Holiday Season, which severely hemorrhaged our success at getting all the funds we possibly could. Third: Our lack of presentation for the most part wasn't something that would highly apply to the fan base of people who more interested in seeing what type of rewards they would get and how the gameplay aspects actually functioned.

This downfall naturally got us thinking to relaunch the project at a later date more suitable to bringing in more people, but also making some tweaks to what we needed to do to make it possible to succeed. First off we reduced the goal amount from 21k to 10k by reducing a lot of the game play that we wanted but was not needed. I also as the Lead Developer decided to take upon myself to pay for half those funds through my own income to achieve the goal that we required. Secondly, we've been working to get more in-game features to the point of presentation so that we can show off what we're looking to do for this game. Lastly, we worked on our graphic presentation to apply to the audience along with giving more of a visual representation as to what we would be giving away as rewards for people's pledges.

We're hoping that this will get us to our goal for our next Kickstarter which we are hoping to release near April of this year.

New Music Samples
In the meantime we've been working on new samples for our OST. These are not final copies of what we will be using in the end results, but we figured it would be nice to see if we can get other's opinions on them :)

City Of Thebes Test 1

Ascension Of The Sands Test 1

Greek City Test 1

Greek City Test 2

We would love to hear your opinions on them so if you have any, I think you can comment on this blog...I think...xD

Demo Production
We've had to really sit down and think about when we wanted to create a demo and how would we work it. When it boiled down to it, we honestly did not want to rush out a demo or prototype of the game. Why? Mostly because we want to make sure that when people actually get to play this demo, it excites them and immerses them in both the world and the game's features. We want to make sure that the first time you play this demo, it will make you want to spend money to buy the whole game just to see what happens next. So We've put off the Demo Production until after our Kickstarter, as we felt at that time we would have more of the resources needed to show off the full potential of the game at it's core :) Sorry if that annoys people xD We just want to be perfect!

As always if you would like to follow our development and get up to date updates about everything that is going on, you can follow or likes us at our social media's below! We hope you all have a great day! Also we will be updating the page today finally with all the new tabs and characters, so look out for that!

What the heck! Amazing trailer. Those voices are so strange reading those lines but it's hilarious. Extremely talented voice actors and those animations are crisp. This looks huge.
The trailer...it's so professional done. I'm amazed by the anime style animations and voice acting.
@Unity Thank you ^.^

@RonDChild Thank you for the praise! ^.^

@djking Thank you for the sub! We hope to not disappoint :)

@CashmereCat Thank you for the compliments! We're hoping to bring the best we can to the table!

@Soul_Hacker Thank you so much for your praise! Stay tuned as we've been working on our full animation for our next Kickstarter Video. We're hoping to show off our animation skills a lot more with this new one!

I don't completely know how Subs work, but I'm sorry if you get a lot of Notice Spam in the next few days, we'll be updating and adding more tabs constantly with more Characters, Features, Story, and Screenshot/Images! I hope everyone will stick around!

Hehe, well you can always check the Character Tab which we will keep updating each day with new characters! We'll soon also be showing off some of the Antagonist in the game as wells.

It's one of our favorites as well! We are spending a lot of time deciding on all the skins and how they will be gotten in-game for all the playable characters. We'll actually be showcasing one on our new Feature Tab soon that will go into detail about how it works :)

Thank you for your compliment! ^.^

At the moment it depends a lot on our next Kickstarter. At the moment the progress of the game is sort of slowing down due to the payments slowly catching up to us. We're hoping if our next Kickstarter is successful that we can have the game completely done within as little as 6-8 Months if we include the full beta testing. As for a demo however, we should have one up and working for Chapter 1 of the game within 2-3 months. We're really wanting to make sure when we release any gameplay for the public that it's something worth it :)

I know it will take long, but the wait is what will make it great!

who ever did the english voices are amazing.
i am a huge anime fan but i usually cant stand dubbed(redone in a language different from its origin)
they have that energetic feel which drags you in so you don't think this is a person speaking into a microphone but a actual person/character!

i love it and hope this goes well!

Thank you so much ^.^ You'd probably be surprised to learn that all the Voice Actors in the game are actually Amateurs Voices o.0. However, we force them to work hard and re-read everything until they are perfect and capture the character completely :)

How do you add characters in the profile section?

I'm going to assume you mean to ask how the "Characters" tab was added. For that, it would be under Manage Games -> <insert game here> -> Pages. You'd need an accepted gamepage first, though.

If you're talking about something else entirely, move along. This isn't the post you're looking for.

*Edit: Also, this is a really weird place to post that kind of question.
