For a while now, Melissa and Luke have been surviving on their own. Melissa has held onto hope. She still believes that her and her younger brother Luke will find a safe, warm place. Luke on the other hand still isn't quite sure how their lives are going to end - but he's quite certain that they will.
On one of their many searches for a better place, they find themselves in the company of two strangers. This is far from the first time they've found people they didn't know, but their wariness shows. Soon after meeting, the four begin travelling together toward a better place. They all travel together in hope of finding stability and warmth.
But, in the apocalypse, people die all the time.

To be fair, it's a pretty tough joke to get right. Maybe someone else will in the FUTURE. But it's not looking too BRIGHT!

Yeah, so funny story I was banne when I came up with the title for this and then I got back to RMN and I looked and I saw there was a hot/trending game called "Black Future" and I was like ...whelp. Looks like we have a sister-in-law.
This is a placeholdery title screen I whipped up a while back. I'm not sure if we're going with it or something more polished as the official title screen but imma post it anyway since it tells you a little bit more about the game.

@Cap_H: That color palette is, if I'm not mistaken, a work in progress. These are tres early screens.

Edit: Bright future really seems brighter, minimally in terms of colors.
Now I need to push my MS-Paint skills to the limit and release "Brown Future" where everything shitty all the time. Ever since the great sewer failure/uprising of 2315, it's been a world-wide Black Death and you have to make good use of the little time you have left by searching out the one mountaintop that isn't covered in fecal matter.
I'm really psyched to show this game off :)

Worst-case scenario, I have a future project that the tilesets I made for this would be perfect for, so if this doesn't get made, and the others don't mind, the tilesets will at least live on ^^;;

Ooooh, nice! That's a good idea. I was thinking about making a little resources pack out of the sprites & portraits I made, since they're pretty close to done and I'd rather somebody gets some use out of 'em XD
