Progress Report

Back in Action - Switch to MV

Sorry for being quiet. A personal issue with my family's health and a miscommunication between doctors kept me away and unable to maintain this project for a bit.

I came back to work to see that MV will be coming out shortly. I've already gotten a copy, and will be taking the project over due to the ease of controls and possibilities of lightening the work load since Mundy is VERY familiar with javascript and html. Sadly with Ruby we'd both struggle at times and needed outside help more often than not. This won't make things easier, but it will make them faster.

All resources are still valid. Nothing is being redone from scratch. No time is lost.

The native mouse system is something I've really needed due to Shaz's script requiring so much work and tweaking with Venka's and Nio's help. This
is a dream come true for this project and initially why I wanted to start it ahead of time to see if I could manage with ACE. Now I can get
this looking and functioning better and still retain the different look from most of the games you will be seeing with MV.

Anyone who contributed during the ACE development will still be credited for their work. I have no reservations in giving people credit where credit is due.
I hope this means we can see them again on the MV side of things.

As of two weeks ago all resources needed to complete the first court scene are done, and the puzzles are being constructed now. A few adjustments will get them to the new resolution standards. Everyone did everything in HQ big versions which will scale to any size. What a life saver =3

Progress Report

Evidence Window

The Evidence window is working and currently being integrated into the game's
existing court scenes where needed. It also has the potential to be used in puzzles and other areas outside of court.

Here is a quick look:

Scrolling and 4+ items per hash/page of data will come after the demo.
Resources for the final few puzzles for the demo's release are being worked on now
which involve a logic puzzle and a few other surprises.

New Computer

Sorry- my old rig of 6 years decided it would keel over. No information was lost and I was already in the process of getting a new more advanced system. Everything is up to the point I am able to resume now. I even have a new master file system in place to keep things running smoother if I need to make adjustments and fubar the re-sizing of portraits with hotkeys again.

Makio is turning out what she can before the IGMC, and I'll be showing a few things in an update before going on hiatus myself to work on the contest. It is slated to start sometime in June.

Scythuz has done a wonderful job with some custom SEs. I'll be sharing a preview of those soon when soundcloud decides it wants to cooperate.

If you want to see something specific from devlopment, now is the time to request it. I'm pulling the last of the necessary files from the old drive tonight.

Evidence and Items

Mundy is hard at work finishing up the template for the presentation of evidence and the hot bed of shouting catch phrases in court.

Here is a quick example using Zodiac signs in a dummy window:

Would you enjoy the current character to the side while the new scene is active when they are put on the spot?

Mundy also updated the textures for the court room backgrounds, here is a quick preview thanks to feedback to make it look like monotone and plain:
I'll be updating the screen shots tonight after work.

The title screen has been revamped thanks to your feedback as well, thank you!
Now particles have random colors, and are behind the characters when they fly by to make it less busy. I've also moved the animated star and shrunk the buttons down so they don't dominate the interface.

The screen shot will be updated later as well.

Almost to the video of footage as promised. I just need to design a custom presentation interface.

I've just received the base set of emotions for another character. Would you like a lay out of the emotions to accompany character bios as progress go on?

Court Room

I am busy getting together some video of the courtroom scenes. Till then enjoy a few vantage points from Mundy of the backgrounds he designed from scratch in blender. The thicker outline helps lend itself a bit more the style, but what do you think?

Testimony elements are in the works. Would you like to see different icons, or something similar to blue prints instead?

Are the busts too big for your tastes? We can resize them based on your feedback or leave them as is.

Would you like a custom font for explicit moments, or keep the stock font the way it is? We have a template for the verbal shouts, and can customize it in a way to fit the style of the game better.

New Titlescreen

Makio Kuta did a fantastic job with the title screen, and it doubles as the new banner in lew of just the logo.

This isn't the first time Wheels and the Leg Girl has been in the buzzing section, and the featured screen shot was a nice surprised too a few weeks back. Thank you for that.

I also wanted to say thank you to Liberty who explained to me things I wasn't aware of and hopefully can learn this go around. It's much appreciated you'd take your time for someone like that =3 I hope I can pay it forward.

Progress has been very good. We've taken the clip art and managed to transform it
into some higher quality resources:

The profiles are nearly together and I just learnt how to make a viewport to manipulate images.

What are you looking for in a Visual Novel, or a puzzle game? Have you ever played a combination of both before? What would you like to see if I were to make a video? Court, puzzle, exploration?

Progress Report

Progress- Wheels and the Leg Girl!

Lots of exciting things, starting with a new GUI. I've added scan lines to the dialogue window here as well. you can take a look for the differences in the updated screen shot

Jayce and Stacy's puzzle resources are being worked on, and the solution/failure overlays have been completed.

I'll be posting more screen shots shortly. HUD buttons have begun to have their placeholders redone.

Character sprites are continuing to be worked on.

Introduction

Thank you for taking a look at the game's page. I'd like to start off by saying I'm not going to approach spreading the word like I did with Silver Town. Just posting a finished free game, with edibility doesn't seem to be enough anymore. Now it's time to take a more hands on approach.

In the following week I'll be adding characters portraits, sprites, and a few things to dress up the page and make it presentable. If I can get the logo to be less of a space hog at the time I'll do that as well.

RMN is a very different environment than what I am use too and it will take some time to adapt to things. I am very happy for the project's acceptance and hope you will enjoy the demo when the time comes.
