A specter haunts the small, remote village of Adam. It is the ghost of its dour hero, Orazio, who set out 10 years ago without explanation and never returned, leaving his son and adopted daughter to wrestle with the dark secret he left behind. A secret that must now be revealed if the children hope to save their departed father, though its revelation could unhinge the world.

Shadows of Adam is a 16-bit era, character-driven JRPG with an indie soul. Players will journey through a vivid and mysterious world and take on a cast of comical and brutal foes in fast-paced battles. Navigate your way through a multitude of treacherous dungeons such as the ominous Tangle, dizzying Wind Tower, or foreboding Haunted Swamp. Each dungeon is designed with innovative puzzles and unique game play to keep the player captivated and coming back for more. Prepare for a slippery slope of twists and turns all the way as our characters find themselves on a path to an epic conclusion!

Guild of the Artificers offers a treasure trove of new content in this spellbinding follow up to the highly acclaimed JRPG, Shadows of Adam.

Picking up where Shadows of Adam left off, Guild of the Artificers will enchant players with new content spread throughout the game. This jam-packed DLC features three epic bosses, a battle arena, artifact crafting, dozens of new items and skills, and a super-ultra-bonus dungeon sure to challenge even the hardest of hardcore RPG fans. If that’s not enough, players can spice up the entire game with a New Game Plus mode turned up to eleven just for veterans.

"While DLC for a JRPG is a rarity in itself, we aimed to exceed any expectations in order to absolutely blow the minds of our players. Our fan's conviction to Shadows of Adam is a testament to the quality we sought to achieve, and Guild of the Artificers is our parting gift recognizing their undying loyalty."
-Timothy Wendorf, Creative Director

"I'm beyond excited to release Guild of the Artificers to our fans. We've put a lot of heart into making this as great as possible. Something we couldn't have done without all the support and feedback from our wonderful community of Shadows of Adam players."

I'm not comfortable with any idea that can't be expressed in the form of men's jewelry

I'm really diggin' this game's style.

I was discussing it with a friend and realized you were aiming for GBA-like visuals. Resolution and saturation levels. Gives it a very unique look (even if I personally don't like the level of saturation).

About the only critique I've got at the moment is that your font in the battle shot really super duper needs a shadow or something. Don't let us UI fans down.

Can't wait to see more.
Hey WIP! Yea we definitely have plans to revisit the font in the battle system. Will be some more UI polish, it's in the wood works.
That looks really great. Such a low resolution for visuals but end result is beautiful.I love it.
Alrighty so I played this and thought it was actually really great! A few things:

1) The main thing that got to me was the lag. There was a lot of lag inbetween input and characters moving, and between characters casting spells and damage being done. However, I would guess that is more of an issue of the game running through a browser? idk if it is not, you might wanna look at that, since atm gameplay is v clunky.

2) I LOVE THAT KELLAN SAYS SNAKES. Is that just a Thing he says or is it in-universe slang? Because if it is his personal "JENKIES" i would be forever endeared ;___; It's a really great character detail.

3) The heavy one, unfortunately, and it is a question: why isn't Asrael the main character?

Like please bear with me on this one, since like... I am guessing you're in late dev, so me suggesting you make what could potentially be an extreme change might raise your hackles a bit, and I would super understand that. But I would ask you to consider the following: Asrael is the Different One in the village. She also is at the centre of plot as someone who uses magic, and the one whom is being called to by Orozio, AKA The Plot. Sure, he's Kellan's dad, too, but I really can't see how Kellan will factor into this overall plot of Magic and the world being threatened beyond having an issue with his father. Like I'm getting Tidus from FFX vibes off of him right from the get go, only without the "outside character who is a stranger to an established world acting as a way to intro stuff about the world to the player" thing that made it make sense for Tidus to be the hero.

And I mean, ASIDE from that? Asrael is just a far more compelling character. I didn't get invested in the demo UNTIL it started focusing on her more, since there's a lot of cool stuff around her. I personally think Kellan would make a better deuteragonist to her protagonist, since they do seem to have a lot of Cool Interactions and a cute brother/sister relationship that I'm excited to see developed in the full game. And like, Kellan started to grow on me by the end, but immediately shoving the "HE AND HIS DAD HAD PROBLEMS!!!!" plot in my face right at the start without letting me get to know or care about this guy felt like a little much, and I say this as someone who laps up "CHILD AND PARENT HAVE ISSUES!!!" plots like the mana from heaven.

And then there's the whole thing of "having a woman as the protagonist would have your game HELLA stand out in a sea of games about men" but eh that would just be icing, imo. I am more interested in Asrael as the protag for the reasons I gave above.

SO HEY if you're not like... just putting the finishing touches on the game and still have room to make a change like that, I would invite you to consider it! If not, I would invite you to consider this for any future games. More mysterious magical gal as the main character!

Anyways: YEAH fun demo <3 If I end up with a few spare clams after my next paycheque, I'll super chuck a few your way~
@emmych

1. Yes I agree and we're planning on shaving a few miliseconds here and there. Some may be browser lag though?

2. Yea, that was the design of our script writer Luke (The Way). Snakes is basically a slang. Though it seems only Kellan says it...

3. Who says she isn't :)?? I think as the plot is developed further you will be able to see Kellan grow a lot too. Also plot details surrounding Asrael and Curtis' mysterious past... I hope you'll enjoy it.

Thanks for your feedback! I really appreciate you playing the demo :)
1. YEAH it defs reminded me of the kind of lag you see when MV games are played through a browser vs. the computer! I hope you can find the perfect formula there, since yikes programming and tweaking things and eGH... IT'S HARD and I admire you guys for making a custom engine! That is some cool stuff. <3

2. IT'S REALLY CUTE ;___; It DEFS gives him more personality right off the bat, and was one of the main things that endeared him to me! That and his like... brother-ing of Azzy (srsly, calling her Azzy? Also cute as hell!!). He's a cute character, I wanna bake him an apple pie and pinch his face and junk.

3. See, now you've got me more intrigued. <__<; I'm excited to find out more! I really did like this game a lot, I found the whole AP stuff to be great, too? I forgot to mention this before, but when I first opened up the skill menu and saw Azzy's first skill taking 25% of her AP, I was like "WHAT". But then in practice, I actually really, really like how you folks handled skill cost consumption? It adds a nice little level of strategy to things, which I really enjoyed. Battles defs required some thought, even when the strategy was just "do damage + heal allies' damage".

SO LIKE... YEAH... I'M HYPE... <3

We are hype too! Yea, the idea was because Asrael's bread and butter is magic her skills should cost less. Kellan has a strong enough attack so his skills should be a bit more prohibitive.
Just pledged to the Kickstarter - you guys are getting so close! :D

To see this project get a Wii U/PS4 port would be incredible.

Thanks man! I think we will get funded. Thanks for the extra push :). And yes the ports would be amazing.

Really didn't think your crowdfund would succeed, but it made a pretty strong push in the end. Was it mostly new backers or did the existing ones bump up their contribution?
From what I've read on the subject, people will hold off on contributing to a fund until they feel confident that the funding will be successful. (regardless that Kickstarter won't take funds until the funding succeeds, thus there is little risk in contributing immediately). It could be that people were watching and waiting until the deadline neared to assess whether the funding was going to be a Go and the decided to commit.

But that's all just speculation.
Sorry for not responding, spent two months in Navy basic training. I think as we got closer to the finish line people decided to jump on board. We had a huge rally the last 3 days where we earned around 7k in that time. Another thing that helped was we were streaming a lot of twitch and we were engaging with fans and potential backers as we watched the demo get played. We reached out to a lot of Let's Players as well. That helped.
