Blood Ties follows Annie, a young girl who suddenly finds herself alone in her childhood home. All the usual bumps, creaks, and weather sounds start to get to her, but she finds comfort in her friend Teddy. The horror of the situation quickly escalates, however, when she discovers that things are moving and changing on their own. Annie searches the house for her family and clues as to where they might have gone should she find them missing from the home. What she finds, however, was completely unexpected.

CloseOk,I finished the game and let's played it too,but it's currently uploading(plus I2ll have to put up the captions).I finished the game in one video and got all the endings.I will also write a review when the video is uploaded.

random thoughts may include spoilers
move speed seems a bit fast
light doesn't stay on the character,theres a delay
inventory items,poor placement to close to edge of screen. they go farther up in fullscreen
lower them by like a full item size if you can
glitch-you can walk diagonally when interacting with something XD
when you get a choice the selector is nearly the same color and shade of the background making it hard too see
the title screen gives away the ending XD i did think that was the case because ive seen the plot type one or more times
o well :D
the endings kind of leave me wanting something more...i dunno...like closure???

recommended to people wanting to get into rpg maker games and want something fairly quick.

Yeah, I fiddled with that light for ages. I could NOT get it to go where I wanted. I put a lot of work into the game, but this is technically the first one I've completed, so yeah.
You need to link the download to the game profile page, otherwise the system doesn't know it's there and you don't get that handy big button that says 'download now' up in your title.

There should be something called "Blood Ties Installer 1.1" under the downloads tab at the top of the page. It's a .zip file, but windows should be able to open it.

Overall, I liked it. But
I really liked the creepy atmosphere though, bravo :)
the ending is kind of... incomplete. She just goes "oh, now I remember, I'm the one who died, I'm not seeing ghosts". And that's it?

Yeah I wasn't sure how else to end that portion, but there's a secret extra ending if you unlock all three doors that adds to it. I'm new to game making and storytelling in general (this is actually my first completed game) so any critiques are wonderful for future games.
A friend of mine pitched this to me as . LOL so true. Pretty decent for a first try though.
Some bugs:
-Diagonal movement causes more problems than it's worth (especially with visual effects) in games that don't make use of it for anything specific. In cases like the entering the basement stairwell from the kitchen you can "skip" the change rooms event by coming at it from an angle, or even end up wandering in areas you shouldn't be in http://i.imgur.com/0RbwwIE.png
-You can call up the diary in the ending.
Design flaws:
-The sanity meter is useless. Nothing stops you from going back to recharge it at Teddy so all it does is generate backtracking.
All in all it was pretty funny and I enjoyed my time with it. The true end was the icing on the cake for me. Worst parents ever.

Thanks for giving it a try; it was my first submitted game. I did have some glitches in the early release that I knew of and fixed, but the weird thing with the stairs never happened to any of my testers. I'll make sure they try to break the game harder next time. :)

is it a bug?at first time,i can not open the first door,though i have collect all the 3 stuff,it is said "the door is locked...you have already completed this ending", i have checked the second and third before trying to open the first door,i think maybe it is the wrong order to open the doors.i try again and open the first door at very first，it open and lead to the kitchen,but can not see the charactor,only a ball of weak light

The door thing is indeed a bug; I fixed it, but apparently not in the version uploaded here. I don't know where I have the finished file (I have a new computer now) but the correct version has been uploaded to game jolt if you care to play still. http://gamejolt.com/games/blood-ties/61036
