You are Tori Kwon, a single mother just trying to take care of Lindsay, your daughter. But during a shopping trip, Lindsay runs away with a strange man, and when you follow, you find yourself in an impossible forest, with a great castle looming over you. Within the castle, you are welcomed and greeted as a new servant, and now you must play your role in the castle, while quietly searching restricted areas for some trace of Lindsay's whereabouts.

Castle Red 2: Subservience is the sequel to Castle Red, a survival horror game made with RPG Maker VX Ace. Castle Red 2 improves upon the original with a more focused and personal story, a revamped health system, and a cast of memorable and unnerving characters. With multiple endings and a branching storyline, Castle Red 2 puts you in the center of the horror.

Obey your Lord. Know your place.

Praise be.

Demo Ver ???
random thoughts
i can....hope these "masters" aren't evil i guess...still it would be more convincing to work for someone if they gave me a reason why doing so would be beneficial to me :/

2ndly your daughter was right in front of you. i really hope they explain why going thru the same place. would send you to different locations.

3rd its BULLSHIT your stuck here because that's how you got here in the first place...a person came from this place and led you here...so fuck these liers :/

this is one reason i hate horror games there concept of common sense is lost.
why are doors inside the building locked? i can see one or 2 for special reasons maybe...but all of them? hell no

the Climbing rope stays in your inventory. is this intentional?

i choose to help matilda cook in the kitchen. the problem here is after i said i would help and got what she wanted
she asked me if i could help again

well...glad it ended before any really fucked up stuff happen tho enough was insinuated.

General 45M+
outside that i hate the genre...lets see...grammar is quite good with a few improvements needs,no glitches that i noticed, and a pretty good atmosphere.
your characters personality is completely based on your decisions so i cant say much about her.
and everyone else not enough to decide at this time.
the difficult is good. i would say the...triggering items from the menu could be improved a bit.no asking if you want to do something that you have to do to progress the game.

Overall
hmmm i think this has potential to be a pretty good game for horror/mystery fans when its finished and polished.
would recommend waiting to play this when its finished. but its your choice :3
Hey, right on. Your stealth system is back in full glory, and that light effect from the flashlight is cool. Are the crazed wormheads going to be making appearances too?

Also, will all the endings be theoretically attainable in a single playthrough like the previous Castle Red, or are all these character defining choices I'm picking going to be a major determinant?

Some thoughts

-Why's the file size so big for just a demo? Or will this basically be it for the complete thing too?
-The intro is too brief. I mean the very, very first parts. I figured out that we're in a furniture store and Lindsay is bored, but that was after the fact. Maybe altering the opening dialogue to something like "Mommy! Looking at furniture is boring. Can we go now?" just to properly cue the player would help.
-When NPCs leave the map, you should have them walk away slowly with a fadeout effect. It's a smoother transition than the current abrupt cut out/cut in.
-Mapping in general is weak. The whole setting could do with some spicing up.
So I just played through the first Castle Red earlier. It was pretty good, definitely one of the better RPGM horrors I've played recently.

Just finished the demo for this sequel, and I like it so far. I can say the stealth system in this one is vastly improved over the original, and I like the sense of mystery so far.

I am wondering if this is the same Castle Red from the original, though. The layout and designs are completely different, so I'm gonna assume there may be more than one Castle Red, or it may change its form over time, much like Castlevania...
So, any word on how this is coming along?

Unfortunately, due to personal matters, I had to halt development for a bit. I do plan on returning to the game, but I'm unsure when it will be finished.

I understand, thanks for the update. Will be waiting patiently for the game, then. =3
Great work as a sequel to the original Castle Red.

If there is one thing the author showed me with the first game, it is that he has very clear ideas of what he wants to show. Trying to mix several elements of terror in a single game: survival, supernatural story, escape from an unknown place, not knowing where you are or how you got there, etc.

In CR2, a lot of things have been polished, like the stages are a little better created, we don’t have that exaggerated feeling that all the rooms and corridors are absurdly giant. On the other hand, the player is subject to actions within the game, which mark his path. Since it is a DEMO, you may not notice the real effect of choosing between option A or option B.

Apart from that, the game is engaging, and you’re hooked. Recommended. Too bad the project is dead.
