So far I love it. It reminds me a lot of ''Always Sometimes Monsters''. I really like the references like DerpyDie, BodyBook, Wacky Heels and Nokika.
Btw is ManlyJoe a reference to ''ManlyBadassHero''?
I also laughed at how
if you kept ringing the bell the woman would kill you

I'm stuck now. I can't find the fuse box. Help please. :)
If you can't find the fusebox, Meja might be a good spot to go to. :)

Manlyjoe is supposed to be AngryJoe. ;)

So can you talk to her in any way? Sorry for being dumb *-*
Oh. Is she walking around with you? If yes, then just explore the house. Look around for lightsources.

See, that's the problem. I checked every single room but nothing. Could you tell me where the fuse box is? In which room I mean.
She is following me around but she isn't visible or she doesn't appear in the menu but she does come out of me(hehehe) when I interact with things.
This is what you have to do:
You need candles and a flashlight. The flashlight is in the bedroom in the nightstand. The candles are in the Workspace on the 3rd level. You will have to take the stairs to get there. After that Meja will go into the kitchen.

Would love to hear some feedback from you ExtremeDevelopment. How long did it take to finish the game for you? What did you like the most and least? Now you can't double post. XD

Sure I can XD Thanks
The game is REALLY REALLY good(I really really really really really really like this and I want it to want me to play chapter 2). Like I meantioned before I love all the references everywhere like DerpyDie, Nokika(I don't understand why MC doesn't use it to kill the monster) and my personal favorite, -to be continued-
Just kidding. By the way unless there is Walmert in act II I'm never playing this again. The characters were a bit dumb. I mean why would you keep exploring the basement even though you just saw a goblin?
The final chase was a bit hard(thank god there was map of the place in the parallaxes folder)mainly because there were a lot of dead ends and ''the rake'' was fast as fuuuuuuuuuu.
The game had some very unique puzzles. I don't think I've ever seen a puzzle where you have to put the wine bottles so that both shelves weigh the same in other games.
At times it got frustrating and you didn't know what to do, such as when I needed the candles. I also got stuck in the beginning of the game because I didn't think of waiting in line in the post office. XD
The music was also great, but mainly because I'm a chicken I couldn't hear it well(because my volume was like at 5% and in the basement I muted it completely after the first jumpscare).
Instead of popping a bunch of scary faces at the player, I think instead you could make some better jumpscares. Just a recommandation for act II, you should try using less jumpscares and focus a bit more on the athmosphere.
There is a nice story behind it and so far it is a lot better than most horror games I played recently. I am really looking forward to act II.
Also the way you named the chapters are also very cool.

***Edit***
Oopps I forgot to answer you questions.
Finishing time: 1 h 53 m
Most: Graphics
Least: That there were so many jumpscares

Interesting. xD Thank you for the feedback! :D I will consider your words for the next act. :) I need to put a disclaimer in the description because of the jumpscares. Did you know that you can beat the game without getting jumpscares? xD You just don't have to die. :P They are not cheap jumpscares, they always have a purpose. xD I think so... at least. :D I will try to find alternative ways to use scares. The atmosphere is supposed to be one of the stronger points of the game anyway.

Thank you so much for your words. :)

Oh and by the way some character sprites were blurry. I know the feel, I use rpg maker too. I think you were trying to grow them, right? If so, if you are using gimp set ''interpolation'' to none.
I never said the jumpscares were cheap, but wouldn't something like this be better:
When you get caught by the goblin you see a picture of it crawling on you and the screen fades out and you get a game over.
That would be a lot creepier.
I think a mix of both would be good. There will be lots of creatures and beings in the future, so many ways to die... xD When the tension rises and you get scared, but the payoff in the end is not scaring me than that moment is wasted in my opinion. Like for instance.

I played Akane yesterday and I really loved it! The moments when I felt the tension rising, like when you need to hide under the couch, were awesome! I got caught the first time and I thought someone would run after me or punish me for failing, but the tension was taken away by the threat appearing slowly and talking to me. That as what took away the scary factor for me.
It seems we both are doing the opposite thing, when it comes to scares xD. I think a good mixture of both would be best. :D

Btw, would you like me to review Akane?

Oh thank you for playing :)
Yeah I don't really like using jumpscares because I don't like them too(sometimes I forget I added a jumpscare and while play testing the game I make myself shiat my pants XD).
And if you wish you can. No reason to say no I guess :)
I was thinking of reviewing this game too but my reviews always get denied sorry XD

Based on 1.0.2 Demo No spoilers

Plot
the 1st 15 or so minutes of the game for me were stressful due to my personality.
i disliked most of the npcs dialog (because they annoyed me)
but if you are like me or not and stick with it you may find out this is a much more interesting game then first perceived.

Characters
Your main characters personality can somewhat be altered (i dont know to what degree exactly) but based on a fair amount of choices in the game you become a different person and the other characters change based on that.
so how you play effects them!
so you can generally speaking mold them into a more likeable character
(i say that because some lines may not change which is realistic its to much work)

Graphics
beautiful mapping (don't question some things its horror! cough)
and screen effects add alot to this experience.
i could just spend time in some areas looking at all the little things added around rooms that are custom images/sprites and enjoy just that.
this game also has hand drawn avatars and pictures in game adding more depth and flaver!
giving it a more special experience!

Gameplay

played this yesterday took me around 3:45 mins with help.
w/o it i defiantly would of gotten stuck one 1 or 2 certain parts for a bit (puzzles :3)
as of the demo there were no turn based battles.
its all about choice and atmosphere and the choice in this game are what make it stand out!

every choice you make not only builds your characters personality but how others reacts with you.thus how events play out! this was extremely interesting.
try experimenting to see what actions do what.

To me this is the best part of the game!

Grammar
the devs of this game did a Amazing job on grammar i was surprised!

Glitches
there were some minor glitches which will have been addressed in the new version.

Music
the music that's not really my thing when playing games. so i don't pay as much attention to it.
but the sound during the title screen is beautiful just to sit there for a few minutes :3
speaking of sounds beware of cats!

Overall
its a demo so play at your own will (know the downsides)
but to me this easily has the potential to be a gem and hope it gets some recognition and possibly a spotlight? :3
seriously tho the dev put alot of time into this and it shows.
check it out!

Hey, nice game! Im stuck on a certain part though

When, being in the house and after activating a secret panel in the protagonist´s room, there´s a switch that deactivates on a certain time, but ¿what am I supposed to do while is active? I been searching around for secret doors or locked doors but I can´t go after that

By the time I played, I like the way the character´s decision seem to create differents part of the story, love this kind of interactive games! And the screamer part wasn´t so bad, maybe a little confusing with the puzzling but was ok either way, was hoping something worse xD, hopefully I can achieve a good ending!

This should help you.

You should search the rooms on the ground floor while the switch is active .
will definitely play it, when I have time;) Looks very well thought and detailed.
If you agree with this, i would like to do a LP of your game :)
