The elusive Miss Kalaya is famed for having one of the most complete libraries about the occult and the supernatural. However, very few are allowed to see it.
When a mysterious investigator arrives to her house in the dead of night, everything takes a disturbing turn, especially when both visitor and host seem to have their own agenda...

A short horror game, loosely inspired by "The Witch's House". You will have to explore Kalaya's house to retrieve the items you need to survive and escape.

This is the first game I manage to finish, and kind of a "training" for more serious projects. Any critiques, feedback and suggestions will be welcome.

29/05/2015-my problems with alcohol XD

On the first version of the game, it was possible to make it unwinable by not grabbing an item at the right time (a bottle of alcohol).
It's now solved and I added a new room

I finished it, it's not bad at all for a first game.

It's possible to perma-screw yourself if you go downstairs during the final chase and save, though, as I was not able to get past the monster after coming back up. It's way too fast to get past. I had to go down there because I forgot to pick up the Alchohol and saved.

Second time through, the monster did not show up for the chase, either, when I did not have the lighter in possession. I realized I forgot to pick it up when I grabbed the relic, so I didn't save, and when I tried to leave the room..no monster lol. Not sure if it was due to lack of lighter, or because I didn't save, but..yeah. xD I figure that's kinda game breaking too.

You might want to make it so that you cannot enter the relic room until you have all the necessary items to finish.
Yup, that lst chase can be unwinnable if you don't get the alcohol and lighter beforehand. I'm working on a patch for it.

This was your first game? I think it was pretty nice! I'll admit, I was tempted to just 'nope' my way out when the head-thing first showed up. I persevered through it all and won, though.

I didn't run into any bug issues such as chases glitching out, nor did I miss any items. Though I do have one question: What's with the far right door on the right side of the first floor? If I remember correctly, it just slammed shut and ended there.

Overall, loved the game + the idea, though I'd like to give one suggestion. If you make future games, I'd recommend leaving out the whole "Don't stop, Don't turn" or w/e room situation. I feel like it's been done a lot, but whatever floats your boat.

I'd also suggest making a game with multiple endings.

All and all, loved the game though! Great work for your first game!

Thank you! Since this was my first "serious" try, I just used the easiest, topic stuff, but I hope to come with more original features for future games.
And about the door... the in-game explanation would be that one of the evil presences in Kalaya's house was trying to keep you away from her mistress'secrets.
...The real life explanation is that I was too lazy to create a new room XD
