An interesting twist on the background history of the original Final Fantasy! This game will feature what went down 200 years before the original Final Fantasy 1 for the NES, featuring an unexpected cast of characters otherwise known as the 'Sky Warriors' in the canon game. Witness the catastrophe of the four Fiends of Elements making their grand entrance into the Final Fantasy world, and experience the Lufenian response!

Official Trailer!

Ironed out details using canon story from both the original Final Fantasy 1, the various updates from future re-releases on more modern consoles, and even diving into the history of the Dissidia line of Final Fantasy games in a bold attempt to flesh out a very possible "what if" scenario of the Sky Warriors story.

Features!
- Rich 8-Bit NES style graphics
- Classic soundtrack used from the Wonderswan re-release of the classic Final Fantasy meshed with other popular Wonderswan titles
- Full sound effects ported from the original Final Fantasy title for NES
- Painstakingly accurate representations of the Final Fantasy 1 world in its past
- The return of several original Final Fantasy 1 classes and the entire spell list (almost.. but with bug fixes from the original NES counterpart!)

Sky Warriors v1.63

HELLO EVERYBODY!

Today I'm announcing the release of Final Fantasy: Sky Warriors version 1.63, with several updates gleaned from Hali's wonderful playthrough of the title. We have FINALLY submitted to RM2k3's ROW command. Below are the bugfixes and changes!

- Added a command to change rows to the main menu, and expanded the battle backdrop graphic to compensate for the back row. An NPC in Lufein now explains the usefulness of rows. (And no longer talks about a fictional town of Gaia)
- Updated Gouge to indicate that it now inflicts Darkness as opposed to Blind.
- Cleaned the mossy corners out of underground locations with rivers.
- Increased the accuracy of the Bane spell.
- Onrac no longer has a mysterious grassland beyond the castle to the east.
- Gave Alexanders STASIS ability the nerf bat.
- Fixed several sprite errors.
- Fixed several grammatical and spelling errors.
- Buffed the damage and accuracy of all of Bikke's abilities.
- (Hopefully) Fixed an error involving riding the airship out of Lufein for the first time.

Have fun powering those crystal ORBS!

Oh, this is so subbed.

BTW, in cases people aren't tired of me telling them this, I have a pretty significant trove of FF3 and various other 8-bit sprites from my game I will never submit. I know this is a more strictly FF1-based title, but PM me if you want to take a look at any of them. Or Whateves.

Thanks! I'll be sure to let you know if I need something specific I can't locate.

Wow, already up to 12 subscribers?! Not even what I thought was my best title (Ruby Radiance) has this much interest after a year of being up. Is there just that much hype for what-if sequel/prequels for popular game titles?
400 Years before the Warriors of Light or 400 Years before Chaos? You should be more specific about this.
Before the Warriors of Light. (FF1 canon)
Uploaded my first ever teaser video for you all!
I'm greatly interested in this. FFI did allow some interpretation, and speculation. I would love to see what you're going to do with the Abandoned Castle since it is one of the more mysterious areas of FFI.

I actually never played FF1 in it's original form, I only played the PSX, and the PSP editions. This would be a little treat for me what the older generation used to play. I had no real reason to play the original format considering that I already played the newer versions, but this fangame now gives me a reason if you're going by accuracy.

It's hilarious that you mention this as I just today went poking my other FF junkies asking if they knew any lore about the abandoned castles (Both the Western Keep and the Castle of Trials) apparently there isn't any lore we've been able to find about them on the internet, and coincidentally, I've already got ideas for them. It's just the mapping that's really bogging down my speed.

If I had to guess, The Dark Elves who probably owned The Western Keep once ruled half of the Elven Lands, and the Marsh Cave probably served some purpose as well for them. That Dark Elf sitting on the Throne probably was a descendant.

The Castle of Trials probably could have served a completely different function as this place looked like it was once inhabited.

I swear I keep reading this game's title as "Final Fantasy: Skylanders," like it's some sort of crossover.

There does appear to be a link that one could use to forgo entering one's e-mail in the case that one's already signed up for their mailing list. I'm not particularly noticing any kind of verification regards to the link in question. However, I am, technically, on that list.
Ah, I just noticed! I'll see if I can replace the download with one that doesn't require the RTP to be installed~

Edit - Fixed! The download should now work without needing to install the RTP.
Any word yet for the next episode?

I've been really busy with RL stuff over the last six months (move, job, college, etc) but hopefully I can get you guys an update soon!
How long would you say is the latest update for a player who wants to see everything, and do everything? I figured I'd ask, so that I know approximately how much time I need to set aside during my days off so I can sink my teeth into this. =)

I would wager that a player who is new to the game going start to finish with all the side objectives that are currently added would probably be 3-4 hours... Of course some players play faster or slower than others, but I'd be willing to guess it wouldn't take longer than 5 hours at most.
