An interesting twist on the background history of the original Final Fantasy! This game will feature what went down 200 years before the original Final Fantasy 1 for the NES, featuring an unexpected cast of characters otherwise known as the 'Sky Warriors' in the canon game. Witness the catastrophe of the four Fiends of Elements making their grand entrance into the Final Fantasy world, and experience the Lufenian response!

Official Trailer!

Ironed out details using canon story from both the original Final Fantasy 1, the various updates from future re-releases on more modern consoles, and even diving into the history of the Dissidia line of Final Fantasy games in a bold attempt to flesh out a very possible "what if" scenario of the Sky Warriors story.

Features!
- Rich 8-Bit NES style graphics
- Classic soundtrack used from the Wonderswan re-release of the classic Final Fantasy meshed with other popular Wonderswan titles
- Full sound effects ported from the original Final Fantasy title for NES
- Painstakingly accurate representations of the Final Fantasy 1 world in its past
- The return of several original Final Fantasy 1 classes and the entire spell list (almost.. but with bug fixes from the original NES counterpart!)

Sky Warriors v1.63

HELLO EVERYBODY!

Today I'm announcing the release of Final Fantasy: Sky Warriors version 1.63, with several updates gleaned from Hali's wonderful playthrough of the title. We have FINALLY submitted to RM2k3's ROW command. Below are the bugfixes and changes!

- Added a command to change rows to the main menu, and expanded the battle backdrop graphic to compensate for the back row. An NPC in Lufein now explains the usefulness of rows. (And no longer talks about a fictional town of Gaia)
- Updated Gouge to indicate that it now inflicts Darkness as opposed to Blind.
- Cleaned the mossy corners out of underground locations with rivers.
- Increased the accuracy of the Bane spell.
- Onrac no longer has a mysterious grassland beyond the castle to the east.
- Gave Alexanders STASIS ability the nerf bat.
- Fixed several sprite errors.
- Fixed several grammatical and spelling errors.
- Buffed the damage and accuracy of all of Bikke's abilities.
- (Hopefully) Fixed an error involving riding the airship out of Lufein for the first time.

Have fun powering those crystal ORBS!

Yeah, I'll fix that in the download, unless you want to re-upload as a secondary version link. I'm still currently playing this new version also, the Marsh, the Volcano, the Titan Cave and the Sky Tower all have extra dungeon maps with Locked element tiles blocking them with bosses at the end.

The 4 new Bosses might need to be redrawn/Re-balanced, if they are impossible a bit, but they are there for battle intensity.

The normal bosses have the same exact original stats, only difference is some their HP's are raised a lot more.

As for the 4 caves on the Overworld, you will get seed items and 1 unique new weapon in each cave.

There are items added such as Life, Ether, Rope, and Mega-Ether or Elixar.
These are to help aid players in increased Boss difficulty.

All in all, think of this as generated bonus content to your game, kinda like with the GBA Final Fantasy Origins remake in FF1.

Wow, what a great game.
Mechanically perfect. (Glitch Free)
Such a neat story, I have never played a FF game before in my life but this game makes me me feel like a fan already if any of them are half as good.
It was a little hard not having bottles of maana ay my disposal, buying lots of tents to save with and such but all that soon became part of this games charm.|

I am not going to tell you that I wasn;t confused through much of the game but trying to figure out what to do next was in hindsight much of the fun.
Well i got there anyhow.
My favorite part was the moral decision you have to make when joining force with Bahmut? The dragon lord, and then the story twist at the not so happy ending.
Everybody is different but my favorite character was Bikke the pirate.
Here he is a successful pirate that just got his ship back but he is asked to hang out with them.
Why not? He replies.
I am having the adventure of my life, I am a Sky Warrior. lol
I am not kidding you
This game was a blast, thank you

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you had a blast with the game!
Is there any way to prevent Alexander's Stasis skill? It just paralyzed me and leisurely pulverized me with its fade skill

Being an optional boss, Alexander is a toughie! He doesn't start using Stasis (which is a short lived stun) until the second "phase" of the fight, and there are a few ways to get resistance to Holy type damage in the game, such as the R.Ribbon and the WALL spell - make sure to shore up your defenses before getting to phase 2!

Where do I get the CHIME ?

You can locate the CHIME in the (Spoilers)
starting town of Lufenia after acquiring the Earth Orb. One of the NPC's there is holding it for safekeeping so outsiders can't get to the Sky Castle. Don't forget the CUBE held by the robot in Cid's lab under Lufenia as well!

So with the existence of Stranger of Paradise - Final Fantasy

you thought about doing a slight remake of your game in the future to update what is now known?

I've considered it, both with the release of Dissidia NT and Stranger of Paradise, but I don't have the latter yet. It'll have to wait for now.

Well I haven't finished either story, so I'm not sure yet. Stranger of Paradise is literally about Garland from FF1, so it would make sense that it could affect my story in Sky Warriors.
Just a heads up! After watching Hali's playthrough of Sky Warriors, there will be a BIG update coming to the game soon! Stay tuned over the next week or two!

Yeah, just thinking that.
A question regarding the Bahamut choice
I try to side with the dragons because the broom told me so an I can't confront the king, only fight another horde of dragons. How does that part of the story work?

EDIT. I have three final weapons and there's something about a tomb that's supposed to give me the other,I've located the tomb but nothing happens.

Thanks for the questions! As far as Bahamut's choice~
You can head to the Cardia Isles and meet with Bahamut but choose not to fight him, then continue to protect Sharlayan from dragon attacks. After three battles, Bahamut will show up for the fourth and after the dialogue you get the option to side with the dragons. To trigger the new battles, all you need to do is leave Sharlayan and come back.

There are in fact four ultimate weapons (one for each character), they can be found in
The Onrac Waterfall, The Wind Cave where you retrieved the airship at the start of the game, The Black Cave north of the Dwarven Castle, and in Sharlayan after you conclude siding with the dragons.

The tomb is more of a secret easter egg that becomes available for an optional boss after you've powered all of the crystal orbs.
It's a reference to another popular RPGMaker game on this site, Hero's Realm. The reward is more of a trophy than a practical weapon, as the damage is low but it sports a 100% crit rate.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble! The canoe always has been a bit wonky. Can you specify what map and/or location the problem started?

You might be able to fix the problem by re-entering the 'lake' tiles (where the canoe is used) and trying to re-exit again.
