Three thousand years after the conclusion of Blackmoon Prophecy II, the remnants of humanity have long since settled in a new region of space full of new allies and threats...

It somehow always comes back to this, doesn't it? I just can't overcome my struggle with working on an original game after doing two Blackmoon Prophecy games. Though they're fan games, I feel like I've made my own little thing with these games, so why not go on?

I'm dropping the "Final Fantasy" from the title of this one, though it's obviously still a fan game at heart. Because of how the previous game ended, I feel like things are a bit more open in terms of what kind of story I can tell without being anchored by Final Fantasy lore and terminology.

Note: This game is super early into development. A lot of what I'm showing right now is FAR from final. Any media I share won't be representative of what I'm trying to accomplish until probably much later into 2019.

Here is a Google Forms poll to go along with the question. This may help me develop the characters of Blackmoon Prophecy III.

I really didn't want to be that guy, but my happiness about this game's announcement got shattered the moment I saw the time fantasy tiles >_>

Not that I dislike them, it's just, um, not exactly what I expected. Anyway I could lend a hand with at least adjusting its palette...

With that huge, disconcerting pet peeve aside, I'm very happy to hear how this has organically evolved for you. BP is, indeed, very much is own thing, as much as it borrows from FF, and it always fascinates me to see how derivative media develops its originality and tone and thn crystallizes it into something very tangible, which was all over the first two games and is now being directly addressed by you. I look forward to that!
Exciting, but ultimately pointless.
Well, I threw enough money at Time Fantasy already, and I wouldn't want that money to go to waste. I'll be snapping up the Future Fantasy pack later this week, which is what I need to even start working on the first real maps of the game since a good portion of the start will involve sci-fi stuff.

I also just didn't want to use rips again, especially since I already exhausted that route after doing two games already, and going rips again would lead to the game looking the same as Blackmoon Prophecy II probably. Time Fantasy sets it apart rather nicely.
I would imagine that things can still change throughout the game’s development, but at least you’re trying to alter the Time Fantasy graphics a bit to make it align with the FF6 look that you used for Blackmoon Prophecy II and all that, so at least that’s something.

Either way, I know that the Time Fantasy look is starting to become the new Mac and Blue and Rudra craze from years ago when everyone and their dog were doing it back then - but I don’t personally mind it that much. Edits and rips don’t bother me that much as long as the game presented to me looks interesting and is fun to play; I really couldn't care less.
Blackmoon Prophecy 1 reminded me of FF1-FF5.

Blackmoon Prophecy 2 reminded me of FF6-FF9.

Blackmoon Prophecy 3 should be like...Xenogears! No, that would actually be awesome.
Exciting, but ultimately pointless.
If it reminds you of anything, it would probably XIII. I've decided that Blinded by Light from XIII will be the battle theme, and there's a lot of sci-fi stuff going on.

Oh~!! Me likey!!♥♥ I love me some FFXIII!
Exciting, but ultimately pointless.
I don't! It had some nice character designs (Faaaaaaang) and a solid soundtrack though.
