Vampires are creatures that live amidst the darkness of eternal night. They have absolutely no regard for human lives and treat them like stones to be kicked away.

One night, a girl was running in a forest while being chased by three bandits. Then a black-clothed man passed by and subsequently took them down easily. The girl, who thought she was saved by him, wanted to repay him and thus invited him to her village.

......The man, who was actually a vampire, smiled and accepted her invitation. After all, the more prey, the merrier......

Nocturne: Rebirth (月夜に響くノクターン Rebirth) is a popular 10 to 20-hour (story-wise) dark fantasy JRPG originally created using RPG Maker XP in 2009 by Shou (or Cogwheel) and translated into English by me, eplipswich. It is actually the remake of the game Nocturne created using RPG Maker 2000 way back in 2002. The differences between the two include new graphics and a new battle system, with only the story virtually unchanged. This version serves as the English version of Nocturne: Rebirth. It is also my second game translation after Seraphic Blue.

Nocturne: Rebirth is notable for
- A highly original ATB battle system
- Touch-based enemy encounters
- Slick battle animations
- A highly versatile character levelling system via skill upgrades
- Unique Familiar Summon System
- Almost 100% custom graphics
- Characters that players can sympathize with
- Unique soundtracks
and so much more!

Japanese Trailer (Will make an English trailer in the future):

Latest Blog

Blog 18: Boy, has it been a while. 10,000 downloads and what's been going on

Well, first of all, this is late, but better late than never. Nocturne Rebirth has officially become one of the big boys of 10k downloads, so congrats on that!

So if you've been wondering what has been going on, I'm still translating the visual novel called Aiyoku no Eustia, so once again, if you're interested in that, you can check it out at https://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/16982-aiyoku-no-eustia-translation-project-partial-patch-is-out/

Then what about the RPG Maker scene? Remember what I said before about the game Hat World/Hatalonia at http://rpgex.sakura.ne.jp/littleworld/? Well, a revamp of it just got released about 7 months ago, with the latest version just released last month! I'm currently playing it, and I'm really enjoying it! Truly, I feel this game deserves to be translated. But I will only most likely embark on translating this game after I'm done playing it and I'm substantially done with translating Aiyoku no Eustia, so it'll be a long wait. Hopefully you'll see a game page of Hatalonia here next year! So do look forward to it.

So yep, that's really it from me for now. Till next time!

To anyone planning on tackling the post-game trio, some advice:
Main can be silenced, Serena is vulnerable to stun, and Tae is weak to paralysis.
I wonder if there's an aoe skill for inflicting status effects...

Good luck with beating them under level 40! Definitely a fun challenge.

From what I could tell, if you don't take down Tae, she will res anybody you kill. That being said, it's a pain to kill Tae first since she has high phys. resistance.

I don't want to give too much advice since that will take away the challenge of beating it on your own, but this fight is definitely much, much easier if you silence Main, paralyze Tae, and try to keep Serena stunned at the start of the battle. From there, I killed off Main first since he took the most physical damage, Serena next, and Tae last.
it still so hard.i try use the eye skill for silencing and paralyzing but the success rate for the skill work just too low, even when i already maxing the skills.
BTW,is the eye of shackles or eye of illusion the one that induce paralyze?.
The only eye skill you need is Eye of Illusion. Max it to level 5 and it should have no problem hitting all three of them for their respective vulnerabilities.
@gabranth: Eye of Shackles is the one that paralyzes only, but like ArcticLobster said, you really only need Eye of Illusion :)

I guess it's about time I should take on the challenge of fighting the three girls too :p Last time I fought, I did use Eye of Illusion, but that, of course, doesn't guarantee victory.
...I need help ..xD I am at the first ''boss'' fight that is this monster looking like a zombie and I don't really know how to win it it's just too hard :o Is there some trick behind this or what ? ._.

Hmm...trick...well, there isn't really a trick. You just have to keep your health stabilized. Black Beast, in particular, is a good familiar to use for health support. Basically, Reviel is your main attack. The rest (your two familiars) should be supporting and should attack only when possible. It also helps to guard at times.

Keep trying and don't give up! :)
Random fun fact: Main is a guy. He comes from an old RPG Maker game called Cross of The World. Serina too. Main, Serina, Tae, and Reviel are also in a 2D fighting game called Es Laf, which is likely what this battle was inspired from. The creator of Es Laf is currently working on a sequel to it as well.

//end random fun fact
Cross of the World, eh? Gonna have to check that out.

I played the fighting game though, definitely feels rough around the edges but a good game nonetheless.
I wonder if anyone still has a copy of the Cross of the World game. I couldn't find it anywhere :(
Yeah I couldn't find it either. Free's old site is nonexistent. All I've seen of it was a screenshot on Es Laf's 'history' page. :(

It looks like it might be fun. It's got a custom battle system and all.

Edit: http://eslaf.main.jp/04_special02_02.html Yeah this is all that can be found of it. Though I guess if you have a twitter account, you can always ask Free if he still has it personally. 8D
Man, the trio is pissin' me off to no end. I am knowing for sure that Main and Fae are definitely the most dangerous of the trio, those follow up attacks can seriously go to hell, especially those attacks when they come out of nowhere and you're ready to heal and then BAM! no healing for you!

Another thing that's annoying about this battle is when Fae starts off with Burn and you can't see your AT gauge. >_<;
That games looks pretty and awesome! I better start playing it now before i forget it!

i know right...also eye of illusion CD just too long,it take 20turn for another use.the most priority is to keep main first silenced so he cant use his spell that somehow boost his and others status's but eye of seal(if i not wrong)have bad rate for success.
If the fight is still too hard for you, here's another tip:
There should be a familiar with the stone called "Spiritual Ear" (it's the green puff-ball). It has really strong original abilities that can completely fill up one ally's AT gauge or completely empty an enemy's AT gauge (Movement Aid and The Grudge, respectively). It also has Phantom Butterfly as a spell, which can empty about half an enemy's AT gauge.

Furthermore, it has EXP Rise and Loot Rise, which are infinitely useful to get to level 40 for the fight and to get the super secret late game items (like 2x Full Moon Swords for Reviel).

You should definitely use the Speed Star formation and have Luna cast Gospel Verse at the start. If you properly paralyze Tae and utilize your delays, you can keep her from using any moves at all!

That's all from me, GL.
Am I experiencing a glitch or is this supposed to happen?
In Khao's Territory (after the attack of the devils on the village) Luna's health constantly drops. Using spells, attacking, or even guarding drops her health even more. She eventually drops to 1 HP and doesn't die by her own spells, but the moment a monster hits her she's down. :c I think it's a glitch, but I'm not too sure. I tried downloading the patch but it didn't do anything. I think there could be a problem with the Scarab Amulet/Necklace thing, but I'm not too sure; I'm not great at pinpointing glitches. I mostly just assume that because when I equipped it on her only then did she start to lose her health like that. Although now removing the amulet does nothing and her health still drops.

This is making it insanely difficult to get through Khao's Territory as I have to run back to a crystal just so I can fully heal Luna without having to waste my potions.

(EDIT): Just found out that even having other party members attack, use spells, or guard drops Luna's health down as well.
@Bobkerfuffle: Hmm by your description of Khaos' Territory, do you mean the final dungeon?

Can you send me your save file so that I can take a look? Will get back to you on this in about 8 hours' time or so. From what I know, I don't recall ever encountering this before o_o

EDIT: Oh, wait, I think I know what's the issue. It's actually your spear. That spear that's equipped to Luna gradually deducts her HP, much like how the sorcerous swords work. Just to confirm that the spear that Luna is equipped with is either the Rising Sun Spear or the Punisher right?

Now I feel dumb. Yea, it's the Rising Sun Spear. Thanks!
Although, is there any way to use this spear properly? It almost feels impossible to use.
