Vampires are creatures that live amidst the darkness of eternal night. They have absolutely no regard for human lives and treat them like stones to be kicked away.

One night, a girl was running in a forest while being chased by three bandits. Then a black-clothed man passed by and subsequently took them down easily. The girl, who thought she was saved by him, wanted to repay him and thus invited him to her village.

......The man, who was actually a vampire, smiled and accepted her invitation. After all, the more prey, the merrier......

Nocturne: Rebirth (月夜に響くノクターン Rebirth) is a popular 10 to 20-hour (story-wise) dark fantasy JRPG originally created using RPG Maker XP in 2009 by Shou (or Cogwheel) and translated into English by me, eplipswich. It is actually the remake of the game Nocturne created using RPG Maker 2000 way back in 2002. The differences between the two include new graphics and a new battle system, with only the story virtually unchanged. This version serves as the English version of Nocturne: Rebirth. It is also my second game translation after Seraphic Blue.

Nocturne: Rebirth is notable for
- A highly original ATB battle system
- Touch-based enemy encounters
- Slick battle animations
- A highly versatile character levelling system via skill upgrades
- Unique Familiar Summon System
- Almost 100% custom graphics
- Characters that players can sympathize with
- Unique soundtracks
and so much more!

Latest Blog

Blog 18: Boy, has it been a while. 10,000 downloads and what's been going on

Well, first of all, this is late, but better late than never. Nocturne Rebirth has officially become one of the big boys of 10k downloads, so congrats on that!

So if you've been wondering what has been going on, I'm still translating the visual novel called Aiyoku no Eustia, so once again, if you're interested in that, you can check it out at https://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/16982-aiyoku-no-eustia-translation-project-partial-patch-is-out/

Then what about the RPG Maker scene? Remember what I said before about the game Hat World/Hatalonia at http://rpgex.sakura.ne.jp/littleworld/? Well, a revamp of it just got released about 7 months ago, with the latest version just released last month! I'm currently playing it, and I'm really enjoying it! Truly, I feel this game deserves to be translated. But I will only most likely embark on translating this game after I'm done playing it and I'm substantially done with translating Aiyoku no Eustia, so it'll be a long wait. Hopefully you'll see a game page of Hatalonia here next year! So do look forward to it.

So yep, that's really it from me for now. Till next time!

Can anyone recommend a similar(ly good) game like this?
Hat World :P
http://rpgex.sakura.ne.jp/littleworld/
What is that engine?? Is it their own personal one? ... Also, it's untranslated, but it looks cool! It's got a minimap, and nice sprites... Oh. It's RPGMaker VX Ace, apparently.
VX (without the Ace), to be exact :)

I wanted to ask this question as well? I really love this game and wanted to play a similar style game but couldn't find any. Is there none like it in english?
The item descriptions for Skill Ring, Goddess' Tear, and some of the Thunder sorceries claim to reduce MCT. However, Skill Ring's description also claims to reduce skill charge time, which should be SCT. Additionally, Atwiki uses CT for all of these, which seems to refer to SCT reduction if their description of Full Moon Sword is anything to go by.
Awesome game in all aspects! Just one annoying thing is fight with ristill to get brave clear. Its hard, very hard, i spend almost 35 tries to beat her, its my second hardest boss battle for the last 8 years after Ozma. Will there be a sequel?))

The game developer hasn't been active lately, so I don't know what he's up to. But I sure hope there's a sequel!
Hey Guys, can anyone help me, i've got no text in the game, although i installed the fonts.
Could it be that it's 'cause of Win10 or is it something else maybe?
Here a picture of the config screen ->

Your language for non-Unicode programs must be changed to English. It's under Control Panel -> Clock, Language and Region -> Region -> Administrative -> Current language for non-Unicode programs

Thank you, that helped! Still, i don't really know why it was set to Japanese haha
Hey, i beat this game and wonder how do i get a new game plus?
The final boss i really couldn't defeat until i level up till level 35 that was very close to 36th level.
I did get a brave clear on the final boss.
Also did an abnormal long break before trying to beat the final boss since i changed my pc.
Good job on Brave Clearing the final boss!

If you have the Apocalypse staff in the item glossary and check the chair in the office of Khaos's house, you should be able to find the the miniboss guarding the bonus room. Once you're in the bonus room, you have to obtain the Rush Chimera by either Brave Clearing the bonus boss or beating their stronger rematch. This weapon will unlock the NG+ option from the developer avatar.
Is it possible defeat 3 rabbits? I will deal almost 8k damage for white rabbit but it still alive... how many hp they have?

They're designed to be impossible to defeat. I don't think anyone, not even the Japanese players, has defeated them :p

I have a problem.
So i replay the game. After beat Ristill, i talk to the maid in the inn and she doesn't give me anything.
Is there a way to make it FullScreen?

To be clear I've hit the "Full" option multiple times and its done nothing.

EDIT: Nvm, it seems I was running the game w/o RPG Maker installed. Once I installed it, it runs full screen just fine.
damn this definitely saddest rpgm games i've ever play xD
Ok. First of all let me say how SURPRISED I was to find this game here. I remember trying to download it several times a looong time ago but I couldn't because it was corrupted. I was just yesterday thinking about this game, so it's really surprising how out of nothing it just pops in front of me xD
Finally I can play it almost 10 years later~ Thank you :')
I know it's been awhile since someone commented but I'm a little late to the party. Eplipswich I just wanted to say thank you for your phenomenal work in translating this game. I really had a great time with it.

While the story isn't anything to write home about I feel like the combat system and all the custom animations make it worth while. I can't remember the last time I've had to bang my head against a boss fight the way this game expects you to. The music is great too. It really is the little things that make these RPG Maker games shine.

I look forward to your future work. Cheers!
