Blog 6: English Version is Released

Hi all,

So, as promised, I have just uploaded and released the English version. Go ahead and download it now! :p

Well, I haven't actually playtested the ending and post-game content (due to the insane final boss battle; I've lost my touch), but this game should be pretty much playable. I'll check through the ending and post-game content tomorrow though, and so if there are any changes to me made, I will release a patch for the remaining changes (and yes, only one patch).

That being said, I hope you guys enjoy this game! I've had fun translating this game, so I hope you guys will enjoy playing this game as much as I enjoy translating it!

Will post more at a later time. Now to rest for a bit :p

lol, looks like Fraps don't wanna work for me in regards to this game, I may have to rely on something else to get videos done. :P

Mind you, I'm going to be doing just the bosses during my run, but I'll give a full review of the game when I'm finished.

Though to note:
I noticed a certain part of dialog that appeared out of place during one of the big cutscenes btw.

During the cutscene between Idith and Reviel, I'd recommend either making another text window to fix that or condense the dialog.

Oh, is it possible to tell me which part of the cutscene? Because I think there are quite a number of cutscenes between those two. Give me a few words from that part of the dialog and I should be able to find from there :)

(Funny how there are still scenes where dialog is cut off or such ~ ~)

EDIT: Okay, J-Man, I think I know which scene you're referring to. Probably the one Skie Fortress highlighted. It's amazing how fast you play, though o_o

Dang having issues and here I was getting excited to play lol.

Got both text already installed on my computer but the game still looks like the Japanese version before you mess with your region settings and stuff. Text boxes being blank and crashed during a battle saying it fails to load a file and stuff. The settings menu is blank too even and loading an old save file from Japanese version missing text too. =\

edit: Forgot that I was still set to japan xD. Works fine now lol, been waiting quite some time for this game to be in English. Great work eplipswich

Did you change your computer language back to English? If you computer language is in Japanese, this game won't run properly. (In other words, the way this version works is reversed from the Japanese version.)

I've just tested the download to make sure it works with the computer language in English, and it works :/

Yeah I did, it says that in my edit :P. I actually came back to post something I came across. Luna's skill "Berserk Curse" I'm not sure if the description gets cut off or just doesn't go to the next line but it says "A curse that greatly raises attack fo"

Theres a similar issue with two of reviel's skills the desription, "Gale Slicer" and "Thunder Rage"

Ah, okay. I guess there are still some descriptions of skills that get cut off. I'll look through all descriptions again and fix that. Thanks for letting me know!

No problem, that's so far all I've noticed. If I find anything else i'll give you a heads up. Seems like j-man is already so far doing the same but who knows maybe i'll notice something he missed or vice versa.

It would definitely help you make a patch that fixes up all the little things if you can get everything.

Not really checking for any typo's I'm assuming you've already done that, just looking for anything slightly out of place or cut off. As far as I can tell if anything it would all just be in the skill descriptions including with any familiar skills but haven't got to check all of them myself. lol

You've got some Japanese still. This is after seeing the training cutscene and you go back to talk to them. Put up some other stuff too.

In other curiosities, why do some text boxes get so big when it only has a single line of dialogue? Seems weird.

I guess I should probably look around for that extra stuff, the dialog that wouldn't normally matter and such.

Haha I forgot to change the formatting of the last picture. Because in the original, there were dots above the Japanese words. The dots might make sense in Japanese, but I don't think they make any sense in English. That's about the only English text that has those dots, though. Several other texts with dots have been changed to normal.

EDIT: About the text boxes being so big, it depends on the next few lines that follow without the speech bubble changing to another one. So the longest line of the whole text in that speech bubble alone takes precedence (ie. determines the size of the speech bubble).

Something I noticed that's pretty minor, during the first boss explanation about defending against ultimate magic skills there's a part where there's no space after the period. Also not far after I noticed Luna say's "I just remember I have to hang the laundry, so if you'll excuse me....." wouldn't that be "remembered" in that case?

Nothing major yet though.
