Synopsis:

Two teenagers, brother and sister, living in a remote village, find in the basement of their grandfather a treasure map. Excited by their find they leave the village to try to find where this map leads...

They soon find an old cave that no one seems to know and deep inside they discover a giant robot that will change their destiny.
Will they uncover the secret behind the Simurions, these robots from another time?

What is "Fighting Robots Quest"?

This is an RPG featuring a world where "Simurions", ancient robots from a lost civilisation, have awaken. The goal is to discover them and using them through battles.

My inspirations were Pokémon and Suikoden, for its large roster of playable caracters, the first Legend of Zelda and Final Fantasy 6 for their open world and narrative approach. My vision for this project was to make a simple but solid RPG with enough depth to be compelling and have a lot of replay value.

The project runs since October 2008.

What are the features?

-No less than 140 playable characters.
-Robots to find, build, customize and upgrade.
-A world every player can travel their own way through exploration capacities that they can learn in any order they want.
-More than 100 battle skills to learn.
-A fuse system between robots to make advanced ones.
-A rich world without to much hand holding packed with secrets.
-Two versions of the game offering some exclusive robots and stuff.
-A giveaway system between players to give robots using in game passwords.

Playable characters: The Simurions!

The list is pretty long and won't be completely revealed before the project is over because discovering them is where the fun is.
But here's some:

This is the first Simurions you can find. The player can choose one of them based on its final form, each of them have its own pros and cons.

As you can see there's various types and elements: Types are about building and growing aspects and elements are about strengths and weaknesses. Try to make a balanced team!

Project update 9/3/20

Hello everyone!

Since this year is supposed to be the last one for the project I'm working on it even more since january. Basically I try to work 3 hours a day instead of 1.

It's been already 2 months and the progress is good but there is still a ton of stuff to be done.

During this year I will need some help for playtesting the game. For anything like bug testing or just fun testing. If anybody wants to help on that, just tell me. :)

Finished the demo, great game waiting for more, thanks!!
Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed it.
How long did it takes you to finish it?
Hi, I think it took 3 hours to conplete the demo!
I really enjoyed the robots, are the sprites original or from
a game?

Thanks!!
From several games. A lot are from Super Robots War and Robopon. :)
Oh man, Aptitudes. I'm soo excited now. Like, this is HMs done right.

Hehe, yes, I plan to do this, exactly. Thank you!
Ooooh. I just now found this little gem of a game...subbed because I want to dig into to the final product when it's released! :D I do play demos but then I go through dem withdrawals. Good games do that to ya.
Hello. Thank you for the kind comment!!

FYI, the release date won't be in 2017 like I first predicted but not before 2020 in fact. I'm working on the project each day at least 1h but it's a very long process. So you can play the demo if you want before that. Also, I plan to release the 3rd demo by the end of the year. So you have some alternatives. ;)

This is one tasty game! Really enjoyed it, even tried both variants. It was really surprising and wonderful find. Definitely will try it on next demo and when it's done.
Thank you very much!!

The next demo should be released by the end of the year and will feature twice the amount of content if not more. (Sadly the save files won't be compatible. :s)
Hello!

I just started to play your game! It is really nice and polished, indeed! Is the giveaway system (items and robots) available in this demo? I am really looking forward for that!

Thanks!
There's a lot of awesome stuff here but there's a lot of not so great stuff. Spelling Grammar aside, some of the graphics look kinda bad. But that's more a limit of the engine, I know, but it's jarring during the cutscenes to see the nice smooth pixel graphics of the maps compared to everything else. Good effort though, it was all very cinematic. Especially your use of DynRPG picture stuff. That fire looked bad ass!

The art for the first monster was really cool, the concept was decent, although the war story didn't quite feel right to me. Not a big deal. But as soon as I hit the first default 2k3 battle, that's when I quit. I just can't stand to play default RPGmaker games. Too bad, this has tons of potential but it feel wasted on a shit engine such as this. But I imagine you started long ago and it's too late to turn back. That's how it goes.

Yes it is. You can access it after 3-5 hours of gameplay. It's at the very end of the demo though. BTW, you can only transfert the robots, to be precise, the Soul of the robots (the items you get after synchronisation).

But maybe you should wait a little to play, I plan to release the next demo in december. It will feature a LOT more content. The fact is, you can't use the same save file between the actual demo and the next one (it will generate bugs in the data).

Is it 2 seperate sentences? Because I don't know which "fire" you are talking about, sorry.

I did a lot of CBS before but I realise that if I want to make a decent game with a lot of content I need to get rid of time-consuming stuff like that.

The game is primarily made for players and not for game makers who know the engine etc. I don't want the game to be impressive, I just want it to do the job. My goal is to make a well rounded game that use the features of the engine and a little more. I know it's not for everyone.

The fire in the cutscene about the war.
Oh, it's not done with DynRPG. It's just a picture with waving effect. :P
Wow this game is awesome but I am stuck at the beginning when grampa give the notebook and the world map. when I enter in the forest for going to rudan town it's say chek the map and again and again. I don't know if it's a bug :/

It seems like a bug but nobody ever told me about this one, strange. :o
Can you send me by PM your savefile, please? I will see what happens and I will fix your save so you can move on. ;)

Thanks!
...Is this game dead? I really hope not, but...

Absolutely not!
I'm working on it each day. I'm just being quiet to focus on the project itself but I'll put some news soon. Always good to see some people waiting for it.

Sorry for the late answer!
