For everyone :As for collecting datas from players, let me ask you which Simurion at the begining did you choose? And which version of the game (Mechanical/Genetic) did you select? Now, let me answer each of your comments.
Shayoko
the instruction manual does not work.
What happens with the Word file (instruction manual)? Do you get an error message?
That's weird... but anyway you can read it online on the webpage, here :
https://fightingrobotsquest.wordpress.com/instruction-manual/i wonder if the 2003 engine requires you to have all the maps files like that. its a shame.
Yes, it was changed afterward I think, sometimes it can be useful for debugging but, yeah, it's kind of messy.
what gender to play as! XD if this was a BR troll i would of been upset! :D
I don't know what is a BR troll (tried to google it but don't find anything). In fact it's just a joke because I know a lot of male gamers like to play as a girl in games, the contrary is much more rare. That's just a little joke for them.
Haha, you make me smile a lot with everything you have to say about the game. That's cool. :D
MAJOR plot hole this early in? it goes from a apparently sentient being to a normal robot that can only act on commands???
Maybe it's sarcasm, I'm not sure, hehe... but it's just because the god simurion is returning to a more basic form of itself. So it behave like a normal one.
I don't wanted it to be the lead of the events but maybe I could make it speak a little more, I don't know. I guess it would be to much, maybe, we already have the brother/sister that stick with us.
I wil make it speak again when it'll get back to it's final form.
during the ridiculously long scene with grandpa we get a plot whole.
he says that all of the pemikian civilization is gone then a bit later after he gives you some stuff from the basement says that we should meet a descendent of the pemikians (they are all dead no???)
Nice catch! Yeah, I should have made him say "almost all the Pemikians disapeared" or something like that. I could rework this a little bit.
no save after ALL OF THAT! i am so annoyed right now!
and theres a choice :/ guh!
You coud save just before. ;)
When you go out grandpa's house the save option is available in the menu. But yes, I didn't tell it directly to the player, you're right. It's written in the Notebook. I'm assuming most players will see the save option by themself after a couple a minutes, like you did. I want to avoid explaining to much stuff especially stuff that aren't tied with the lore of the game. But I guess in this case I will explain it.
that island map is really awesome tho!
Thanks! But it's just a rough sketch for now.
transformations are awesome! :D shame it does not tell you if something evolves and how
Wow, you made Mushiba upgrade as early in the game? I could not imagine that! You like to grind for sure. :P
Mmh, yes, the stats upgrades are not shown, it would be time consuming to do that but maybe I can do something simple like showing basic curves growing or I don't know.
Most of the time, every stats increase some more than other with bumps. Very rarely stat descrease, most common is the Speed if a Simurion got bigger.
Also, the abilities could change too.
failing to escape=annoying! and speaking of that i want a item or equip that negates random battles please!
Sadly I can't do a lot with the escape formula.
Yes, there will be item like the Repels in Pokemon.
also want to add how weird it is that the simurans are not common knowledge when they openly roam the field right outside of town :D
Yes, hard to make a "pokemon-clone" without the same logic of Pokemon, where everything is Pokemon and everyone like them. :P
In this case, I hint that with Prof. Boulon but maybe it's not that obvious : He said that the wild Simurions will attack the hero because he have one with him (more on 'why' later in the game). So you can assume the Simurions are hidden and nobody see them, like very careful animals. Maybe the have something like stealth camouflage as well. Maybe I should said that somewhere in the game.
But yeah, it's a bit weird.
my biggest complaint i suppose...would be the saving. i hated the beginning of the game as you could not free save or even save at a location until you are setting out on your journey you gain access to your menu. that saved the game from being completely annoying.
Yes, I understand. It's kind of hard for me. The fact is it's not possible to show the menu before having the set up for (the Simurion mostly). I could add more save points, I did it in previous versions but it was a lot of saving before having really something to fear about. I felt to much.
I don't know where you coming from, what are you standards with saving features but I'm used to games that do not allow to save when we want, in fact I think Pokemon is the only game I played that feature this kind of save system.
The real question is why did you find it annoying? It seemed a big issue for you.
I will go a step deeper here and explain my visions about that. I don't allow saving sometime to avoid the "testing effect". For example, before the choice of the four God Simurions I don't want to add a save, because I want the choice to feel like a real one. Maybe with a save, some players would test every possibilities the reset. I didn't want that, for me it's something that can prevent immersion.
Grammar aside this was a rather interesting game. as a former fan of pokemon this to some degree gave me a nostalgic feeling.
i loved the choice of which starter you obtain and the evolving. also that as of this moment theres no over complicated diverse stat building.
Thank you! Really happy you enjoyed it!
As for the stat building. There will be a system for this in the next demo but it's WAY easier than Pokemon dread EV system. I hope you'll like it.
i think 4 party members may also be too much tho considering the max power potential of a single simurans(forgot name ok!?) can wipe out enemy teams easily.so if theres not at least a couple planned areas in the game that will be challenging it might be disappointing in that regard. i summon Mechtwo!
There will be fights against 2 or 3 foes as well. Yes the 4 VS 1 seems unfair lol but since enemies will be at good levels it won't be alway easy. The battles aren't like Pokemon where each battles is a real duel. It's more like a Final Fantasy game where you can breeze through some battles.
The game can be really easy if you grind in fact, I never took the grinding as mandatory because some players really hate (I read that a lot about RPG) that but I saw most players did some grinding even if it's not necessary. Haha!
The difficulty is tricky because every players play differently and sometimes just some small choice can make a big difference. I've seen player telling me that they beat a boss easily and some that lost 5 times against him.
I plan to make the game a bit harder for normal fights. I think the bosses are enough challenging for most players.
this is coming from someone that generally does not give a F about mechs. but this was entertaining as hell!
Thank you!! I'm really happy that the game still be interesting for you.
while on the topic of mech games check out Knight Blade: Howling of Kerberos
I will!
(That's funny, one of my previous game was titled "KnightBlade Story", what a coincidence :P).
Thanks again for your feedbacks! And for the script revision.
It's really motivating!

LaMasqueradeGrammar/spelling/text errors. Maybe I'm being overly picky here, but I can barely seem to get through a single line of dialog without noticing some form of a text error, be it grammatical, spelling, etc. It seems like the demo was barely proofread at all when it comes to the character text... and btw, in the Statistic screen, you spelled "Strength" as "Strenght." Just little stuff like that started to get extremely annoying after a while.
Yes, I knew it would be this way. I already have a lot of help on this topic. I will do a revision of the script at one point.
There was proofreading, a lot, but by non english natives. I'm french and the people who play the game before you guys were french too. I guess even if we can talk english it's hard to do it well, haha. So sorry for the trouble...
I have encountered a weird glitch twice now. I just got to the point where you can start capturing pokemon... er, I mean, rebuilding mechs. (:P) It seems that every once in a while, I get a pure black screen when I should be getting an encounter. It tends to only happen after I have a battle party of greater than 1... I'm not entirely sure what causes it, but the symptoms may help you diagnose the bug. It makes the sound effect for an encounter, and the screen goes dark. Then the background music resumes after a second instead of the battle music... and the encounter never initializes. And then the game freezes in that state. Fortunately I didn't lose too much data either time, but it's a little annoying. If I find more information about what causes it, I'll let you know.
Mmh, this one seems tricky. I already saw something like that but the game didn't freeze. Are you sure it was frozen? Did you try pressing buttons? Maybe you could here the menu pop up sound of something. I wonder if it was not just a fade in that never came. I know RPG Maker 2003 has some weird glitch like that, I came accros one particulary but it crashes the game (error message from windows then the game closes). Sadly in this case I can not do much but for your issues it seems to be on my side, really weird you had it twice and I never have it even playing one hundred time the first hours of the game. Hopefully you didn't loose to much. Save often!
Thank you for your help and I hope you could enjoy the game even with the english issues and those weird glitches. :)

SaitenCan't save because can't open the menu because everything but the arrow keys opens the map. I will wait for a fix before the next update as don't want to replay he begging over and over again.
BTW, the game is a little heavy on text. My revisions shortens some of them. But you might also like to think about lessening the number of text boxes
Everything, even the validation button for talking to people? Is it a bug?
I'm not sure to understand.
My guess it's that is normal behavior. The game won't allow save for some time because there is not much treat at this point and if you continue to play, every 10 minutes or so the game will ask you if he wants to save.
Maybe the game speak too much. I'm the kind a player that hate when games speak too much, so that's hard for me to take that. :P
I was raised with 8/16 bit games that have only few lines of just the bare minimum and after the 5th generation I feel most RPG have too much texts for me. Can't really play a post 2000' RPG without being bored in fact. I thought my game was more like old 16bit ones where texts are not that heavy.
Aside from that, some people told me the story and the characters could be more developped so it's hard to have both side of players happy.
I guess when the game will have good writing it will be easier to accept more texts.
Thanks for the revision!
