So it is done. After testing, tweaking, scrapping and overhauling large chunks, and fine tuning the smaller details, the full complete prologue for Prayer of the Faithless is ready for public release.

Huge, HUGE thanks to the testers who pointed out all sorts of issues to fix, and an extra huge thanks to MakioKuta for the video playthrough, which pointed out all sorts of little issues that a text document could never show.

So what's new in this version? Well, there's a lot. Frankly, there's too many to list. I'll just name the big ones:

- Mia's prologue has been added
- Redesigns for every single character
- Overhauled dialogue
- Overhauled stats for both allies and enemies
- New skit points
- More tutorials

And a bunch of smaller additions that you can probably pick up on by checking out the updated screenshots.

Let me know if you have any issues or concerns. Otherwise, I hope you enjoy the new prologue! Thanks so much for playing!

*nods* ... Still doesn't explain why Amalie's got no fire magic, when she's got the Blazing Heart though?

Hm...

*checks*

Well this is embarrassing. I did some reorganizing of skill types and forgot to change the skill type granted by the Relic.

This is a pretty big issue, so I went ahead and updated the download with the fix. Just move your save file to the new build and you should be fine. Thanks for the report, Malandy!

I gave Red_Nova my in depth thoughts, but I think I should say something here too.

Prayer of the Faithless demo was extremely promising. Great characters, story, and overall writing. Engaging battles, probably the most thought out move sets for each character on this site. Amazingly done character portraits (as we can tell on the character page, but honestly I liked them even more in game.)

My biggest critique so far is about the tilesets, which I think are charming, but needs plenty more work upon.

Thanks, zDS! Yeah, I'm going to redouble my efforts to improve my pixel art.

If you haven't already, play it. Likely a future feature game, assuming Red Nova doesn't die again.

Bruh, have you SEEN my other blog posts? I die every time I release something now. It's almost second nature to me at this point.

Well, my file comparator says that the installers are different, but I still can't burn things with my redhead (Amalie)...

So. there's a 10 item limit for First Aid Kit stacks. ... What happens if I get another First Aid Kit out in the field? It stays where it is until I return and pick it up when I've got more space? Or do I waste the free item, and it disappears?

I literally want to stick my head in a dishwasher.

So even though all the skills are set correctly, the actor command list wasn't updated to display the new skill type location. As a result, no one could have used the Relic. This has been fixed and the download has been updated again. I checked everything thoroughly this time, so there's no mistakes.

As for the item limit concern, don't worry. You won't pick up an item if you already have ten of them. So if you can't pick up a first aid kit, just use one on an ally then pick up the new one from the ground.
I've got other small nitpicks, like text formatting and typos, nothing like the Blazing Heart issue. Do you want to set up a PM to gather them all together, if there are other people reporting to you via PM?

Yeah, a PM would probably be for the best. Thanks.

Yeah, I'll send those minors after I'm done my playthrough or whenever you request.

... So, Amalie just got her Paladiny (Guardian) Drives replaced with Magic? ???

***

(Massive) Crash Error:

Nightmare just Quaked me:

Script 'Game_Interpreter ' Line 1411: NoMethodError occured.

Error ocurred, check the debug console for more information.

Nightmare was Strength and Armor Downed, and spawned from a plant-thing.

... And it happened again. So most likely not a fluke.

All saves from here on out, are forwards compatible, right?

I can't reproduce this problem with Amalie's Drives getting replaced by magic. I'm using an old save file from before these fixes, and everything looks fine to me.

Herp derp nevermind. I wasn't looking at the right thing. Ugh.

Since I'd like to not be getting a bunch of crash errors little by little, I'd appreciate it if you just waited until you were done and put everything into a single PM so I can just update the build one more time.

And yeah, like I said, you can transfer your old saves into the newest build.

*nods* - That's the only crash I've found... But then I'm at around the halfway point of the prologue, getting down from the Hill... ... So, you expect crashes to be common enough to need to classify as minor? ... *shrugs*

Too tired right now... Gonna continue tomorrow? Or maybe take a nap...

Of course I don't think crashes are minor. The point I'm trying to make is that I don't want to keep updating the build and expecting players to download them over and over again. It's best to wait for all the errors to come up at once and then apply one last, major update so I don't have to waste player's time.

For now, since not having Amalie's Guardian Drives makes it incredibly difficult to play the game, I've fixed that with the new build. If the issues keep piling on, I'll just remove the demo until everything can get sorted out.

Okay, thanks to Malandy, a new slew of corrections have been made and the build has been updated. Full patch notes are on the download page.

I'm really sorry to have troubled you like this, everyone.

The Metal Sheath is only added at the Mia's Prologue start point, so I'd have to replay again, as I didn't keep a save from the end of the Aeyr section.

Where is it normally? It doesn't seem to be in Honelleth? Some part of the Darkwoods I didn't see? Not in the Asala Castle??

Any tips for defeating Nightmares? The Blue Ghost things? They're the most durable enemy in the Aeyr section...

Lastly, for now, how do all the different damage types work? 'Cause when I Fire Crash a Savage Wolf, I get a OHKO, but Fireballing, gets me 1 Damage only...

The Metal Plated Sheath is, in fact, in Honelleth. There's a secret door you can enter in the side right next to Mia's house.

There are a couple of ways you can deal with the Nightmare depending on your party. The best tactic is reducing its Armor with Amalie's Shield Bash and then lobbing attacks items. If you have no items, then use Guard Break moves to drop it's SP so it can't use many spells.

Throwing a Firebomb uses the Tech formula, which is the character's Technique minus the enemy's Armor. Magic, on the other hand, is the character's Tech minus the enemy's Psyche. That's why Firebombs weren't that effective against the wolf. It has really high Armor, but super low Psyche. That's why examining enemies is vital. Once you know the weaknesses, plan your attack strategy around exploiting it.
I downloaded and was ready to play, unfortunately it popped up the error " Unable to find VI. Gothic font. " Is there a font file I need to pick up somewhere? :/

I loved the previous demo, I look forward to playing this new one. :]

That's very odd. Try putting these in your Fonts folder: https://rpgmaker.net/media/content/users/37917/locker/VLPGothicRegular.ttf

Best to install them as well, just to be safe. I'm glad you enjoyed the last demo! I hope this helps you out, but let me know if it doesn't.
