Beloved Rapture is SNES-styled turn-based RPG.
A story focused on existentialism, spirituality, friendship, LGBT themes, and identity.

The pixel art is greatly inspired by the 16-bit classics: Chrono Trigger, Secret of Evermore, FFVI, Terranigma, Rudras, and more.

Interpersonal stories take center stage in our narrative. Characters challenge not only the next looming dungeon boss—but themselves, and their own demons.

  • An original soundtrack inspired by the 16-bit era.
  • Nostalgic pixel art crafted with love.
  • Classic “ATB” system - time-sensitive turn based battles, with fully-animated monsters.
  • Maps and dungeons that are rich in detail, filled with hidden secrets.
  • 5 unique playable characters - spanned across 4 distinct “chapters."

Johan, an introverted man from the countryside, finds himself thrown into a conflict beyond his comprehension. The Aeons—-an enigmatic & cultish militia-—move ever-closer to his hometown.

Now faced with a threat to his once-elysian way of life, Johan must contemplate the role he is destined to play in their escalating conflict.

At his side are Aiden, the mysterious son of a Shrine caretaker, who has trained since childhood in the mystic arts; and Crystal, a runaway noblewoman intent on ending the war before it reaches her family.

Through their travels, Johan is intrigued by Aiden's increasing fascination with him, as well as the appearance of Draco, an Aeon soldier with a connection to his own mother.

Steam NEXT Fest Demo

Hi everyone! Some good news to report today!

After multiple years of work, I have released the first ever public demo of the new "commercial" BR!

Those who know me...know that I don't do this very often. I suppose RMN has taught me to hold my cards close to my chest, so to speak. xD

But with some nudging from my publisher, I decided to go for it! I'm very proud of the work we've done, and the time felt right to show it off! It's been a long time coming, that's for sure.

Giznads and I have collaborated nearly every day on revamping this project into 16:9 widescreen, and overloading the menus/battles with customization. In many ways, we pushed Rm2k3 further than I previously thought possible.

Rather than offer a gameplay "sandbox", I chose to let the player experience the first chapter of the game. (In total, 5-6 of them are planned). I have 3.5 chapters currently completed, but the 1st one stands on its own as a nice introduction to the mechanics and characters.

Since it's released as part of Steam's NEXT FEST, the demo will only be playable/available for a limited time. I expect the publisher will pull it after October 10. So grab it while you can, if you're interested! If you enjoy, you can Wishlist the final game due out in 2023.

Download Here!

Steam doesn't allow reviews for demos, but I believe RMN does! But if not a full review, any small bits of feedback helps.

I'm hoping it's because BM is ditching battles?
I just realised I'm not listed as a tester for this despite testing through completion two versions. Why BM why have your forsaken me?

You probably are. The game profile currently doesn't show testers.
Look at the bottom of the main page description under "Credits-Testing" and you'll see my ANGER.

Will we be seeing another demo soon? If you're looking for beta testers, I would like to volunteer.
I'd also volunteer. I deeply enjoyed the game.
This game still being worked on? It looks amazing and I'd love to play the game upon release.
