Final Fantasy IV Alter Destiny

Hey folks at RMN! This is an update as to how FF4AD is coming along, and just how long it'll be before the game goes into final testing and then release. As the title suggests, I'm getting down into end-game territory soon. I just finished the story events for the Tower of Babil revisited, and from here on I'll be on the Moon doing Moon-type things. Yeah. Makes perfect sense, right? :P

I've also gone back and retouched a few of the maps, and I found and edited a pretty nice-looking window skin that I took from the android version of FF 5. Here's a screenshot of what the battle screen looks like with the new window skin.



I've had to also make a rather difficult decision when it came to my Chocobo Races. I've nixed them. They were far too much trouble for what they were worth, even on my beast machine they lagged, and they didn't add very much in terms of mini-games anyway. For a game that originally had no mini-games at all, I think the Arena and the post-game Lunar Expanse will fill that void in nicely for bonus content. For another little addition to the game, Namingway has become Colorchangingway (kinda lame but couldn't think of anything else), and so by talking to him you'll get options if you want to choose the window skin color. He's in practically every town and castle in the game (just like Namingway was).

So this moves up my tentative release date window. All that's left to do is the end-game stuff, credits, the Lunar Expanse bosses, and then I'll be opening this up for beta-testing. I'm not going to make it firm yet, but this could very well be done by May or June. Thanks to you folks, I've stayed motivated and I hope when you get your claws on this you enjoy it!
