*Note - The airships in the beginning may look shaky, but that's due to the recording software. In-game they're not shaky at all.

Oh and this is the 2nd time uploading this, since I had the video selected as "unlisted" earlier. Had to make it public for you to see it.

Looks nice, you did a good job with a lot of the out of combat animations. Have you considered a mode 7 script to make the airship sequences look a bit closer to the game? Also, I've noticed that you are using FF4 PSP tiles for all of the areas, but it seems like not for the world map. Was this a deliberate choice?

As for the combat, your character sprites are very unique! Interesting choice to give Cecil a skillset rather than just Dark Wave. I think the only thing off I noticed was the abruptness of the attack animations. I think it's because your standard attack has no stepping forward or back, and you don't have damage set to wait for animation on your spells.

Otherwise, looking good so far! You did an excellent job recreating the scenes.

I've actually got the Mode 7 script already installed, and I could very easily use it for the intro, but then I felt I'd have to do it for the airship exploration of the Overworld too, and that would conflict with some of the events I've got on the overworld (like a waterfall that looks 'normal' amidst a Mode-7 background). Do you think I should just have the Mode-7 effect for just the intro since it conflicts with some event graphics on the Overworld?

And yep, that was a deliberate choice for the world map. I wanted a higher-res look of course, but also one that had a more 'retro' styling so that it gave a nod toward the SNES version without it having those graphics. Also, yeah I'm definitely going for an actual skillset for both Cecil and Kain rather than just Dark Wave and Jump. And you're spot-on about the abruptness of the attack animations, seems I forgot the stepping animation for the standard attacks (looks like I'll be inputting that right now).

Thanks for the feedback! =)
i am finding Royal Air Force to be strange for wording in this old game. maybe change the text to Royal Baron Fleet instead? i know you want to use something instead of Red Wings so it's not overused, i just thought it could be improved a little :)

Actually that bit of dialogue came directly from the GBA translation, interestingly enough. I suppose I could change it to Royal Baron Fleet,or some similar connotation thereof. Thanks for the suggestion! =)
