You are a Witch Hunter who has managed to infiltrate the Mad God's Order of witches and as such, you are in a very precarious position. When they summon you and give you the mission to retrieve the sacrifice that will bring their dark god to life, what can you do but accept?
But they have sent you to Altham, your village of birth, and you will be faced with the reality of what you've left behind. Hold your sword close to you if you wish, but know it will not help you. This is an enemy you cannot cut apart. The darkness gathers around you and you will break.
This game is a horror/dark fantasy adventure made in RPG Maker VX Ace. There are no jump scares, there are no chases. This game will not attempt to scare you as much as it will attempt to break you.
Update: Alright, the game is done after a month of working 12 hours/day. Please be aware that there are strong themes, bad language and pretty depressing tones. Don't play if overly sensitive to any of those.

So you've indicated this is episode one of two, so is that a plan for a sequel or simply another chapter n the same tale?

Another chapter or two, depending on whether I can resolve the main conflict in the second game or not. But it will be a while, I am unable to work on part two right now.

This is a horror game and that means its depressing so i don't like it and obviously hate somethings that happen...
that aside...
My biggest grip design wise was the darkness timer which kept stopping the game even when inside a house.
being one of 2 parts we do not at this time know the fate of the characters but i expect
what i do not quite understand is
I will say tho that it was not a boring experience.while there were some grammar mistakes.i was interested in what was going to happen.
Overall
If...you like medium level dark stories i recommend this.
*by medium i mean terrible things happen but most of it is not only off screen but it is not heavily descriptive like say corpse party
which makes it much more bearable to play.

a nice easy to read font style (i HATE the 2000-2003 games!)
one major annoyance with this game i have is the text speed...was exploring i could not find a way to continue so i re checked things
and it forces you to slowly read it...

your character to die. as the power that saved him is apparently not his own but of some god controlling him who is not sealed again it seems.
and since theres 2 witches whoa re stronger...him living in the end and winning would be ridiculous

what i do not quite understand is
was Elona dead or alive? that is really her in the prison apparently but when you find her she had a ethereal form...if she is in another dimension he should not of been able to see or talk to her...
and i think in the prison it hinted that she was dead but still...

Thank you, I appreciate the input. I'm sorry you didn't want to continue, but I understand.
I've received mixed reviews about the timer. People either love it or hate it. In any case, it doesn't impede gameplay--most exploration happens indoors. You just have to keep an eye on it.
And yes, Allen is a somewhat controversial character.
