Generic RM2k3 RTP Gaming Fun!

I always wanted to make that game based on everything I enjoyed as a kid. This is the end result.

Hero's Realm creates a super-synergy of proactive features to create a gaming experience greater than the sum of its parts.

Lead four heroes and their teams against the evil forces of Mephistocles, the Lord of Demons in this retro-RPG adventure. Toggle between the four heroes as you explore dungeons, ascend towers, spelunk caves, save villages and defeat the forces of evil! Reminiscent of classic RPGs such as Dragon Quest III and Final Fantasy V, Hero's Realm is a fun romp in old-school RPG nostalgia.

-22 character classes (12 base classes, 4 hero classes, 3 secret classes, 3 master classes)
-TONS of game content and sidequests
-Classic NES-era and SNES-era RPG gameplay
-Great music
-Multi-party switching system (like Kefka's Tower in FFVI!)
-Multi-party tactical battles (at least 5 of them!)
-Massive world map
-Fun

The story is split into 5 chapters, with each of the first four chapters focusing on a new hero, and the 5th chapter bringing them all together.

Chapter 1: Won't Somebody Please Think of the Children?
Chapter 2: There is Something Fishy Going on...
Chapter 3: Land of the Rising Son
Chapter 4: True Calling
Chapter 5: The War on Terror

Oh yeah, there was a few instances where after entering a town, there would be tiles that would block me when I should be able to step on them such as the shadowy tiles under some bridges. The game was assuming I was on some catwalk or any higher ground when I really wasn't. For example I just stumbled in Hawksnest where I couldn't walk under the overhanging bridge to enter the city, because it probably thought I was already on top of that bridge.

I usually go to Bombomb to fix that issue by going up a ladder and then back down again. I'm guessing that happens because I tend to use the "Return" spell a lot while recently being on top of buildings.

It could be useful to add a trigger that makes it so as you teleport, it puts you on the ground (unless that won't work, or it's already implemented somehow? Just a thought).

Edit: Actually I found the issue.
It's possible there's only one way to trigger that bug--which a few people in this thread a few years ago seemed to have stumbled on as well--is due to how you're able to use a Warp Wing after entering Cid's Lab, when I don't think you're supposed to since the player is considered to be on high ground for having entered his lab from the 2nd floor. That could explain why if you use "Return" to quickly exit the lab/town to get airship materials, you end up likely to be blocked by invisible walls when revisiting Cid.
Didn't expect a fix so quick, thanks!
The music missing in Norge is a bug.

The inability to remove a cursed weapon from the second handed slot is also a bug.

So what I have done is fixed that map and added a secret hidden event right here:

https://rpgmaker.net/users/kentona/locker/Map0623.lmu
https://rpgmaker.net/users/kentona/locker/HARMONICA_dance.mid

Download these files, put the map into the main folder (overwriting the existing map) and put the MIDI in the music folder, and start the game up. Go to this spot in Norge, and hit the Action button (Z or Enter), and everyone in your party will have ALL of their equipment removed.
Really loving the game so far, Chapter 5 is already my favourite for how each Divine Artifact has its own fairy-tale like story regarding how to obtain them.
Mainly the part with Golem that's piloted by the 4 heroes, and how a city sealed itself inside a stone in an attempt to move to a safer place.

I'm at the city of Norge now, and I'm curious to know if it's normal that there's no music, or town theme rather, playing there.

Also I have a cursed weapon I can't remove in my 2nd weapon slot. Is there a way to uncurse the 2nd slot? So far it removes the 1st slot, despite that one not being the one with the cursed weapon.
I noticed in Chapter 4, the Sultan is in two places at once:

1. Sleeping in his bedchamber when you're about to confront him.
2. In the throne room if you go downstairs in his room, it's as if he didn't go to bed.
I'm kind of new to playing rpg maker games and really wanted to try this game.

I'm having an issue where it says the map.imu files cannot be opened. I have installed all the rpg maker RTPs and have played a couple of other games without trouble so far. I didn't know if there was a common issue that might cause this.
The Nevermind bug exists in multiple chapters (2 3 and 4 iirc). Since I copied and pasted the code. Whoops. It is on my todo list to fix for the remaster
I think I found a bug. I started Chapter 4 with the Monk and I talked to the NPC that gives you your 3 companions, and when he asked if I'm ready to select my companions, I pressed the cancel key instead of selecting "No", and the conversation continued as if I pressed "Yes". I was still forced to name each companions.

At the end, my companions weren't in my party even though I named them and chose their classes. Talking to the NPC again would only let me change their names and classes, but not add them in my party.

Did that happen to anyone else?

*Edit: Ok I know what I did that triggered it.
Turns out the issue is this--When prompted to select the sex of your first companion, there's 3 options to choose from:

"Male"
"Female"
"Nevermind"

If you pick "Nevermind", not only does that still make you choose the names and classes of your 3 companions, but they end up not appearing in the party, and the game registers that as if they did join. That makes future attempts to register for 3 companions no longer work since it just makes you rename or the change the classes of the members that are supposed to already be with you even though they're not.

That only happened to me on Chapter 4 though, I don't know if that can be triggered in Chapter 1, 2 or 3.

Curious if there's another way to have them in your party beyond that point, or if I should load an older save and avoid that.

*Edit2: Ok I can confirm that the "Nevermind" bug occurs only for when recruiting companions in Chapter 4 and not Chapter 1. Might be a Chapter 4 only issue.

*Edit3: Also I think I soft-locked myself in the Cave of Wonders, I'm missing a ladder to proceed. I found another one at the bottom of the map but used it for the small island with the return portal.

*Edited by Marrend, reason: combined multi-post.
You can use the elite classes at the begin. Is this a secret or odd debug I found?
When choosing the classes, pressing up on Wizard, Dark Knignt and Harlequin you can skip directely to the elite classes. They aren't really more powerful than the base classes, so using them doesn't feel OP like Daredevils hope not they get patched out. A Vanilla versus Chocolate situation really.

Great game - PLAY IT!
Started playing this game for good after remembering giving it a try almost a decade ago. I'm on Chapter 2 so far and having a blast.

You really mastered the use of RMK2K3's class system in the sense that each class are well balanced, and how you get to customize your party for your heroes really add a lot of flexibility in how you play the game.

It really feels like I'm playing a classic RPG from the 90s and that makes the experience better than other modern games (even AAA ones).
that dark sword is starting to lag behind abit.
hey i finally found th save location but question is how can i "share it"?
well i guess i can live with that cursed sword for now until i come into a dungeon with dark resist...............
man finding the savefile for easyrpg is a nightmare lol
He is a ninja :P

Yeah make sense he can tranform into a girl
