Generic RM2k3 RTP Gaming Fun!

I always wanted to make that game based on everything I enjoyed as a kid. This is the end result.

Hero's Realm creates a super-synergy of proactive features to create a gaming experience greater than the sum of its parts.

Lead four heroes and their teams against the evil forces of Mephistocles, the Lord of Demons in this retro-RPG adventure. Toggle between the four heroes as you explore dungeons, ascend towers, spelunk caves, save villages and defeat the forces of evil! Reminiscent of classic RPGs such as Dragon Quest III and Final Fantasy V, Hero's Realm is a fun romp in old-school RPG nostalgia.

-22 character classes (12 base classes, 4 hero classes, 3 secret classes, 3 master classes)
-TONS of game content and sidequests
-Classic NES-era and SNES-era RPG gameplay
-Great music
-Multi-party switching system (like Kefka's Tower in FFVI!)
-Multi-party tactical battles (at least 5 of them!)
-Massive world map
-Fun

The story is split into 5 chapters, with each of the first four chapters focusing on a new hero, and the 5th chapter bringing them all together.

Chapter 1: Won't Somebody Please Think of the Children?
Chapter 2: There is Something Fishy Going on...
Chapter 3: Land of the Rising Son
Chapter 4: True Calling
Chapter 5: The War on Terror

Possibly! Can you send me a copy of your savefile so I can check it out?

Upload it and send me the link, or email me.
i managed to resolved it by restarting game and loading previous save.

hmmmm... the only way for me to find out which one is missing (or find out where the bug is in my game) is to look at your savefile. Can you upload it somewhere and PM me a link so I can look?

Thanks.
Hello kentona i sent you a link with my last save.

The final medal you are missing is in the Pub in Dracoma:

Here is the pub in Dracoma.

The waitress blocks your way!... by day.

Wait until nightfall.

Go back and sneak in behind and snag that medal from the barrel!

100 TINY MEDALS!
How are you supposed to kill dem metal squirrels!!?!? Physical, 0 damage. Magical, 0 damage. Critical, 0 damage. What's the trick?
I *think* it was electrical attacks?? I can't remember.
Crud...so I'd need a level 13 Sage at the earliest to be able to beat em...I'm only level 10 ><
Ah! I see that they are also partially weak to Spirit attacks like Bless!
When you change classes either by reaching a high enough level or by using one the stones does that character keep anything from their previous class like like spells they learned for example? (even if its not in the new classes spell list)

thanks
Templar or Sage then eh. Or get lucky with tarot cards I guess.

Paladins and Druids also have bless spells, as does Akira with one of his throws. Oh, and Ronin GP Toss can kill them too.

Unfortunately, you lose half your levels and the old skills from the old class. But the advanced classes usually have the same or similar skills as their base version...
Paladins have it. But it doesn't seem that Druids have them according to the spell list on your website. Maybe the info was missed on the spells list pages?
maybe I misremembered! which is more likely, as this game was completed back in 2009. :)
Druids do have it. It just wasn't listed on the website. It's inside the game's spell list when creating characters though. Druid learns Bless at level 7 and Blessmore at 29 based off of my memory.
Hello,

I've played Hero's Realm many years ago, and I've just begun another playthrough for some nostalgia. It's an amazing game, easily tops any games any other in this genre.

I noticed this forum is still very much active, and I'm glad.
I had many questions I would have liked to ask during my first time around, but never got the idea to actually post them here. Maybe some of these questions could've been answered had I searched more diligently, but I also just really suck at finding answers on the web.

If you don't mind, I really hope you'd answer these for me:

1. How does the STAT system work in this game? STR, INT, AGL, DEF- How do these stats actually affect the characters in battle? Do Mage type characters benefit in Damage output with an increase of INT?

2. Is there much to do after Chapter 5? The game sent me back to Chapter 1, and I've been completing the Chapters again, but stopped when I couldn't find much to do, other than maybe tiny medal hunting.

3. How do you become the master class? I never figured it out!

4. Are there any other games by the same creator that is similar to the Hero's Realm?

Infinite thanks to the game maker, and whoever would answer my questions :)

Cheers
Thanks for the kind words! It is much appreciated.

1. I don't know or remember the exact formulas for STR, INT, AGL, DEF and my relative use of attribute damage, but the formula 2k3 uses is
Physical: (Attacker's ATK / 2) - (Target's DEF / 4)
Magic: Base Damage + (Attacker's INT / 40 * INT Influence) - (Target's INT / 80 * INT Influence)

AGL is a bit more complicated.

I'll have to check out the project to get you more solid numbers and results.

2. There is nothing to do post-Chapter 5. I did not create any post-game content. The New Game+ option is just the same game over again, except you get to keep your skills and levels and equipment. I am not a fan of post-game content in general.

3. You need to find Elfstones. There are 4 of them in the game, all in Chapter 5. Then, you take them to the Temple of Class Change near San Vegas.

Q: Where and how I can get all of the elfstones?
A: They are only available in chapter 5. There is a divination room in Arborlon that gives hints as to the locations of the elfstones.

But here they are anyway:
1. In the Pit of Peril (visible in Chapter 1) - on an island just west of Norsland. There is a separate teleportal room in the Norsland Shrine locked by a magic door. After getting the Magic key, use the teleportal to get to the island.
2. In the Badon Crypt (visible in Chapter 2) - in the abandoned village of Badon in the southeast tip of the desert there is a stone building locked by a magic door. After getting the Magic key, open the door and enter the crypt.
3. At the peak of Mt. Neverest (visible in Chapter 3) - at the giant mountain near Okasa there is a large wall with a magic door. After getting the Magic key and sailing to Jomongu with the ship, open the door and ascend the mountain.
4. Atop the Tower on the Lake (visible in Chapter 4) - in the center of the lake near Bombomb, there is an island with a tower on it. After getting the airship, pilot it to the island and ascend the tower.

4. I have made a few other games similar to Hero's Realm, but none with the size and scope.

These two are like mini-HR games.

This is a Diablo-meets-DragonQuest-meets-KOTOR experiment. You might like it:

I have other games I intend to make similar to HR, but I haven't done them and haven't worked on them seriously in a while. They are still years away from completion.
