Generic RM2k3 RTP Gaming Fun!

I always wanted to make that game based on everything I enjoyed as a kid. This is the end result.

Hero's Realm creates a super-synergy of proactive features to create a gaming experience greater than the sum of its parts.

Lead four heroes and their teams against the evil forces of Mephistocles, the Lord of Demons in this retro-RPG adventure. Toggle between the four heroes as you explore dungeons, ascend towers, spelunk caves, save villages and defeat the forces of evil! Reminiscent of classic RPGs such as Dragon Quest III and Final Fantasy V, Hero's Realm is a fun romp in old-school RPG nostalgia.

-22 character classes (12 base classes, 4 hero classes, 3 secret classes, 3 master classes)
-TONS of game content and sidequests
-Classic NES-era and SNES-era RPG gameplay
-Great music
-Multi-party switching system (like Kefka's Tower in FFVI!)
-Multi-party tactical battles (at least 5 of them!)
-Massive world map
-Fun

The story is split into 5 chapters, with each of the first four chapters focusing on a new hero, and the 5th chapter bringing them all together.

Chapter 1: Won't Somebody Please Think of the Children?
Chapter 2: There is Something Fishy Going on...
Chapter 3: Land of the Rising Son
Chapter 4: True Calling
Chapter 5: The War on Terror

I would also feel obligated to fix a bunch of the known bugs and tweak the balancing.

The only problem I had with the official RM2K3 was the one I mentioned about the RTP when making the "game disk" (or whatever it's called). If you've edited any RTP files without changing their names then making the "game disk" will overwrite those files with the original RTP file. It's easy to fix though, because all you need to do is copy/paste the resources folders from the project folder into the "game disk" folders.

I've not had any problems with anything else, not even in Riot Grrrl and that has some pretty complex eventing. That said, Hero's Realm has a lot of battle command that I've never tried to use (like combos) so I can't speak for them; I'd assume they'd work the same.

I could but I haven't tested it.

Can't you upload a version from the official version? Instantly fixes ATB issues as far as I can tell from my experiences moving Engalia and Riot Grrrl over.

(I don't think the battles are slow in this game, but anyone who put up with Final Fantasy IX's load times will be hard pushed to find any RPG slow!)

battle speed in the translated RM2k3 is a flustercluck, and it is what it is. I did what I could about it at the time.
I hate to tell you this but.....i can't play this game i got to the first boss and it hit me why i was not having fun the battles are VERY VERY slow i mean i have been playing this one rpg maker game called manifest and it is so much faster with it's battles.
I hope one day this issue is fixed thank you.

no they will be more powerful. You found a secret!
Hi sorry i know i maybe bugging you but i just ran into something and i don't know what i should do.

Ok so i was changing my classes but i hit the up and down arrows at the same time i can get some new classes now here is the issue i looked it up and it looks like the classes that i found are the classes you unlock at level 20 for a base class now my question here is if i pick a elite class from the list will they be weaker then if i leveled my base class then changed?

The heroes are capable in all areas, with a unique talent. It is similar to Dragon Quest III in that respect. They all have healing spells, offensive spells, and capable physical attacks, just to different degrees.

Personally, when I picked at team, I like to grab one class from the Mage-types, one class from the Warrior-types, and one class from the Rogue-types, and ensured that I had a class capable of decent healing, and a class capable of offensive magics.

You can read about what I thought of the classes in the end here: http://rpgmaker.net/games/82/tiers/

umm...... umm.... It's been so long I can't remember what I do. I think that if you change class in the first 4 chapters, it just resets the character to level 1 with the base stats. In chapter 5 when you get to the Temple of Class Change you can change classes, and what happens there is that your stats and levels are halved.

But I need to check first to be sure.

I see thanks for telling me....to bad the levels are not saved for each class after changing.
I'm still at the start of the game trying to think of a good class setup....
What i would like to do is make a class setup that helps with the main hero's short comings only thing is Holdana seems to be a jack of all trades right?

Sorry i often overthink character builds it's a flaw of mine :)

Hi i have a question....sorry i'm new to this game.
Anyway how does the class stat system work?
What i mean is i know you can change your class but when i change to a new class does my past class matter....like say i have a warrior class and at level 40 i change them to a magic casting class will they be weaker do to having so many levels in a warrior class?
Or is it set on a fixed stat system were class stats are only based of the level and the class?
I'm hoping through enough posting here you'll add me to HR's team list so I can leech off your hard work gameprofile and get out of the sand trap of 5355 ms since I appear to be physically incapable of submitting anything to get out of the rut myself.

Why curate your own gameprofile when GreatRedSpirit will do it for you?
Did you install the fonts here? Copy/paste them into your Windows/Fonts directory. Rm2k(3) is dumb with the fonts it comes with and these fonts fix that issue. The font should look like the stuff in the screenshots with these fonts installed.
This game looks amazing, and I'd love to continue playing. Unfortunately the font is painful to read.
There's a GPU option to keep the aspect ratio when running at non-native resolution of your monitor. Google "gpu aspect ratio scaling" with whoever made your GPU (NVidia, AMD, Intel?) and hopefully there'll be directions of what setting you need to change. If they need a specific resolution then rm2k3 runs at 640x480 when in full screen mode.

Downgrade to Windows XP. That'll fix everything!
