You come from a civilization of robots, returning to Earth after the extinction of man. You're here to to see what the ancient human creators left behind. Explore the human city. Collect coins and artifacts. Break down obstacles and find your way out of the city.

This is essentially an item collection game. At the moment, there are no enemies to fight, but I am working on that. If I don't manage to add enemies in the time frame, I'm confident that the game is short enough and has enough to occupy your time that you won't be too bothered by it. There are items to collect, the city is a maze with passages that aren't obvious, with secret areas, some objects that are movable, others that are destructible. Your character can punch objects out of the way. He can also fairly easily run through them.

TO PLAY, AFTER DOWNLOADING THE DROID AGE! 32-BIT FILE, OPEN THE DROID AGE
FOLDER, OPEN THE MYTHIRDPERSONGAME FOLDER, OPEN BINARIES, WIN32, AND CLICK ON
MYTHIRDPERSONGAME.

Don't worry. I'm only taking down the support list because I'm putting this on GameJolt and I've only taken the time so far to do one download.

Unfortunately, Droid Age! didn't seem to be working for other people and I couldn't figure out why. It turns out that if I don't change my package settings to shipping, then I will only package a developer version that only Unreal Engine users can access. I've remedied this with a new 32-bit download. I found that this didn't work either, and when I researched the problem, I learned that the packaging places the game file in the Win32 folder...which is buried. So, I've included an instruction manual that tells you how to open this. I've conveniently named the application in the first folder "NotThisFile" so that you don't accidentally open that one, or if you do, you know why it's not working.

Anyway, I've put through a download that should work.

Yeah, I like weird. My first thought is to go for weird when I begin any project. I don't always do, but usually I do.
Waw! Its on android i want to play that one :)
I'm getting this error when I try to start the program:

author=Error
Couldn't start:
"D:\Games\RPGMaker\2015-10_No-RPGMaker-Entries\Droid Age!\Droid Age!\WindowsNoEditor\MyThirdPersonGame\Binaries\Win32\MyThirdPersonGame.exe"
CreateProcess() returned 2.

Try disabling your antivirus software and downloading again. Also, it appears that this error can also occur when a 32-bit program tries to open a 64-bit Windows command. I'm going to try uploading this as 64-bit.

It's strange because my system is 64 bits and the 32 bit file runs just fine on it.

I'm having a lot of problems right now. This is going to take a lot of time.

Woooow, okay, let's see here.

Maybe it's the whiskey or that the mouse was inverted and I didn't check options and couldn't figure out how to open a menu of sorts but I had to stop playing lol
I know I could have restarted and checked but I also missed all the controls at the beginning while I was trying to make sure I was getting the controls right ironically enough. So maybe for the intro and controls have it continue based on a key pressed?

So, all that aside I think it's a really cool idea and game. I love the premise, wish there was more to collecting but I get it. Pretty cool engine and something I'd like to mess with one day.

Overall, a very interesting experience and not something you encounter everyday on RMN, so my hat's off to you in that aspect. This definitely feels like a game I might want to partake in a few bong rips before playing and maybe not late night drinking.
I might come back and give this a second try under the right conditions. Could you maybe have a controls page or the controls listed in the main body for clarity?
Cool idea and like I said something new for me from RMN as I haven't messed with the Unreal Engine ever.

Thank you! And yeah, I can list the controls here. The game is what it is because it was for the No-RM event and I just didn't have a lot of time implement all of my ideas (there were going to be left behind robots you could fend off, hence why you can punch, but it's pretty much useless because you can just run through breakable walls, I didn't know anything about mouse control, so I just followed a tutorial, stuff like that.).

It would be awesome to fight some berserk robots! And not sure how difficult it is but I cannot absolutely play with the inverted mouse on PC, so maybe an option to switch that? I know a lot of people where the current mouse controls is commonplace for them but I'm one of those reasons a lot of games have the option to change mouse controls :P
I really think this game could be great if you expanded on it, because I do like the concept of robot rebellions and a dystopian world where humans no longer exist.
You speak a lot of my language with your games and I like that. They just seem to fall short of needing something more to really pop.

I read a lot of old sci-fi, like Robert Heinlein, Isaac Asimov, Alan Dean Foster, Mack Reynolds. So much sci-fi these days is either uber-realistic, or space opera, and while I like space opera, it doesn't really leave much room for those harrowing questions, like in Star Trek: The Motion Picture, where the Voyager probe gains sentience and comes back to Earth and tries to process it because its core programming doesn't understand anything else, or like an old episode of Star Trek where two identical men get trapped between realities where neither can die, locked in eternal combat. Kirk asks, "What would it be?" Most sci-fi these days focuses on the cool stuff and not enough on the deep implications of what that cool stuff could bring about. So that's what I like to write.
I may have to try this game out later! You have my attention~

I caught a movie called The Time Traveler's recently which I enjoyed. I haven't read much of the greats you speak of but I am a avid fan of old sci-fi movies. I'll take those and Star Trek any day over modern or even semi-recent movies. Like you said, just a different feel with different questions asked rather than the obvious ones.
As much as I like the bang and flash of the more actiony movies I'm always more deeply drawn to the medium that leaves questions unanswered or worse, those that are that make you think. It was just such a blank future back then where anything was possible and the future was insane to imagine.
But yes, I love your writing so far :)
