Version 1.2 Build (hopefully the last one) Is up!

First of all, I'd like to extend my thanks to everyone who gave this game a shot, especially Solitayre for giving this a review!

I've uploaded a new build of the game that addresses some of the flaws and bugs that people have brought up. Here is the change log for version 1.2:

  • Removed the hookshot pole from the beach area (What was the point of it?).

  • Redesigned the whistle warp section with the heart piece to have a way to escape (I've added a stairway and a pushable boulder now!).

  • The Magic Shield can no longer be eaten (Take that, Like-Likes!).

  • Decreased the chance at which rupees spawn from bushes and grasses a little bit (20% may have been a bit too high?).

  • The walk-through wall in Mystic Temple has been replaced with a bombable wall (Consistency is an important part of design).

  • Added a bit of a hint to the map location in Cliffside Temple (If you pay attention to floor tiles already, this shouldn't be a big deal, right?).


I've also added the story, controls, and a nifty little Tips and Tricks section to the readme file included in the game's downloads, to make it more useful in helping you play the game.

Oh, one other thing.

This game got 1st place in the No-RM Event Contest... Then it got 2nd after some miscommunication stuff happened!

I thank whoever put in that extra vote to not be 3rd place! I can't decide whether to think you are awesome or insane for this kind of game.

Sorry, wasn't able to do the Let's Play. When I tried to record it, the video came out horribly wrong. One thing was that the 'Secluded Heart Piece' that required the whistle is basically impossible to get because the whistle never takes you there.

Also, even after finding all the overworld heart pieces (except the mentioned one) & all the dungeon ones, I still needed to buy at least 4 pieces of heart before getting the Master Sword. Might want to tone it down back to 12. Just Saiyan.

That's weird. Did you try to do the LP in windowed mode?

As for the whistle warp heart piece, one bit I forgot to mention is that the locations you have available to you are partially dependent on how many triforce pieces you have. Did you try to do it after collecting all six pieces?

I don't think I tried windowed mode yet, but I'll give it a try later this week. As for the heart piece, yeah, it was after I had all 6, it just simply never takes you there. Might want to make a different method for accessing it, but requiring the whistle to take you there just isn't working.
