"While all deception requires secrecy, all secrecy is not meant to deceive." - Sissela Bok

There are tales of a mystical land, known as, "Mothresia." A land that's long since been forgotten. The Goddess Saturna once presided over Mothresia, blessing the people with Sacred Stones that granted good will, luxuriant crops, and an era of peace.

However, this time of peace did not last. For the Darkness, that once had ruled in times of old, grew stronger in the dark corners of the land. And one day, a new Demon King was born. The Demon King, apathetic to the happiness of mankind, went and corrupted the Sacred Stones... Ravaging the land and casting doubt into the minds of men. The Goddess tried her best to cast the Demon King away with her blessing, but alas, the Darkness had grown too strong. The Demon King overtook the Goddess, sealing her into a Cursed Amulet, hiding it deep in his Lair of Darkness.

At first, the people were overcome by despair. But soon, as time passed, the Goddess began to be forgotten. Worries became mundane, and the life ruled by the Demon King became ordinary. Only legends remained to speak of the blessing Saturna had once passed onto the people. The Sacred Stones became but a myth. These same legends told that one day, an unlikely hero would rise, and would change the world. But stories were all they were to the people; fairy tales. Until one day...

This all seems fake...

Most certainly, though only the demo is available right now, and the full thing will probably be done in the next week or two since I already have almost all the artwork and all of the original music done. But I am curious to reactions to specific things, both towards the end of the demo and beyond.

Will yours be the first MV game on this site to have a download? We'll find out soon!

Being first is not the goal, but if it happens, it happens. The game will most likely be done by next Friday, or somewhere that weekend at the latest.

It's a bit faster since it uses RPG Maker RTP sprites at first, but due to the nature of the project rapid development sessions can be quite productive, and the art by my partner and the music I've been working on has been going a lot faster than intended.

Speaking of the music coming along well, you can hear a sampling of the soundtrack for the project here:

I really like the soundtrack, especially the music that starts from 2:20. Really good.

I hope it works well in context. Anyways, it's a shorter project and the elements are coming together nicely, so at the very least it'll be an earlier title. I just hope the earlier moments don't turn some people off and the story ends up being up to snuff.
One small delay, I forgot Asylum Jam was happening on the 5th - 7th, I want to enter that, but game is almost done.
This mapping is... do something with it.

Without saying too much, the mapping is completely intentional.

I can tell that this game is pretty meta, and about that, I'm pretty excited, because not many games approach it in this light. Am I expecting too much by saying this might be something in the vein of The Stanley Parable? If it's even anywhere near to close, with regards to concept, then I'm instantly in.

Ah, who am I kidding, I'm in anyways.

I finally got around to checking this out. I've reached a hallway that seems to loop infinitely in the demo. Is this the end of the content, or is there something else I need to do?

There's a tricky trick in the hallway, but there's more, there's a clear end to the demo is what I'll say.

If you get super stuck:

Try going up for a while.

Just for trivia's sake it's not the first MV game (Chelsea, for example was MV. There was one before that called Maria Maria but it seems like it's gone now. It wasn't even properly functional)

I'm currently working with MV and I'm trying to play more MV games. This looks interesting so I gave it a shot. I didn't get far before getting distracted (that walk speed makes getting sidetracked easy) but I'll get back to it later.

So, I recently finished this and I have a lp for it coming up(it might have to wait a little, but once I'm done with my current series, but I'll review this as soon as all 3 parts are uploaded ^^)
It was overall pretty good. Some scenes were very good and some were just straight up... weird. Actually cross that, the whole game was weird, however in most parts the weirdness was just done in some silly stupid way that even made me forget I'm playing a horror game SLOPPY JOE INVADED THIS COMMENT but it was also a very good kind of weird at parts.

Personally wasn't too big on the twist. My hopes weren't too high as I have been disappointed with the truth in many, many recent games. Here's looking at you, Firewatch. However I still had hopes that some serious twist ending would appear. It didn't.

Other than that, the only complaints I have would be the bad mapping and slow speed, but otherwise it was a fun game indeed~
This game definitely was interesting. The weird part threw me for a loop and the atmosphere in some area were really well done. The mapping is something to be desired, however, you said that was intentional. The other characters other than Gwen felt like there was potential but if they had a bit more screen time their inclusion in the game would of felt more meaningful.

Overall, this was an interesting experience and if I were to describe this game it would be a, "a wolf in sheep's clothing, but the wolf can talk."
