Disclaimer: This game is very challenging and requires a lot of attention to detail, strategic game play, and character equipment/skill management to succeed!

Current Version: Final Release v1.1.2

Synopsis
The genocide of the magi has begun. The Empire has spread it's reign around the globe. Why now though? After all these centuries of peace, why would the Empire want to eradicate the magi from existence? Is it truly out of fear for the powers that magi can posses, or is it something far more sinister...?

Gameplay
Eternal Twilight is an old-school styled fantasy RPG with a Turn-Based battle system. I have made much use of the plethora of amazing scripts that Yanfly has created for the MV system to bring a battle system that is familiar, yet original in its own right. I am a firm believer of quality over quantity when it comes to designing a battle system and the types of skills a player has at their disposal. The battle system in Eternal Twilight features the following:

  • Unique weapon/armor system, where enemy drops will "randomly select" a rarity for the item dropped, granting bonus stats to that item! Legendary Bronze Sword anyone? YES PLEASE!
  • Intelligent enemy AI that will keep the player on their toes. The AI will respond according to the player's actions to make sure "LOL-SPAM ATTACK" will lead to the players demise.
  • Five unique character classes, each with a vastly different play style than the last!
  • Skills come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from Instant cast spells that don't consume the character's turns, to very powerful attacks, buffs, and heals that have cooldowns, making sure the player strategically chooses when to use certain abilities.
  • This and much more!

Eternal Twilight v1.1.2 is LIVE!

Hey everyone! Long time no talk! Just chiming in to say that I have uploaded Eternal Twilight v1.1.2, which just addresses some balancing/difficulty. Okay byeeeee~~~~ :D

=== General Balance Changes ===
* Non-Boss enemies have had their MaxHP reduced by about 5-10% across the board.
* EXP gained from all non-boss enemies has been increased by +5% and all bosses now reward +%10 more EXP when defeated.
* The DEFENSE stat has been slightly buffed, reducing enemy damage by about 5% more than before.
* Soul Trigger has been buffed: Stat boost increased from +15% to +20%, MP Cost reduction increased from 10% to 20% reduction, and TP regain increased from +5% to +10% per turn.

=== Character Changes ===
Luna:
* Barrage and Raining Arrows damage increased by 5%

Damien:
* Holy Fire damage increased by 10%
* Smite damage increased by 5%

Trish:
* Wind Chi damage increased by 5%
* Gaian Tide damage increased by 10%

Ryudo:
* Wound and Body Slam damage increased by 10%
* Shadow Strike and Obliterate damage increased by 5%

Dev Notes: Some of you may be wondering: "Why make the game easier now?" Well, I take great pride in the difficulty and balance of Eternal Twilight, but I also know that the difficulty can and is turning away a good amount of players. To make the game more approachable for the more casual player, I decided to tone down the difficulty a bit. I put in so much time, love, and effort into my game, and as a dev, I WANT people to play it. If making the game slightly easier gets more people to play the game, then that's the price to pay! Ferny... over and out! :D

I can finally play this game on my new laptop.
And looking for bugs and gliches :)
Two I have found already:
  • You got JP+Scrolls from Spirits - change it to AP+Scrolls. At least in the menu they are called correct.

  • The robot in the shrine talks about the combination of runes (forgot the name) but you won't find it under this name. Change it to mystery rune and the player knows what you mean.

All spelling issues (I'm not looking for these) will be sent by PM when I finish (again)
@Firefly84: You've got such a good eye for the little details, thanks for catching that stuff! :D #FIXED!
The game has gotten a fair number of downloads over the last few weeks. Does anybody have any feedback that they'd be willing to share? ^_^
I think the thing I'm enjoying most about this game, is the battle system. You've clearly put a lot of thought into the skills, rather then just 'This attack deals X amount of damage'.
Hey!
After I went to village, from where I got Black Magi Minerva, the second time and fought with the purple green knight commander boss the game bugged out for me.
Is it supposed to end there at the moment or was that a bug? After I had bested him and the dialogue started, I couldn't see Luna anymore. When the dialogue ended the picture went to black and stayed black, the music was still playing though.

All in all the game is really awesome! The battle system is amazing, I really like it and the story... I want more! :D . I stumbled upon this game yesterday by accident and was playing it since then lol... I wanna continue xD but I can't, because of the black screen.

I played the beta until yesterday and if there was a bug, it was fixed in the beta. With a bit of luck, Fernyfer will put this version up soon. He even has fixed the "Revive" spell of Damien.
@Sinine I'm more worried about the fact that you were able to keep playing the game up until the Commander Tyrus fight hahaha...the demo was supposed to end after beating Runic Heart! :o I believe you downloaded a version where I was still working on the post-Commander Tyrus events, but not quite finished with them yet, ooops!

@Mirage88 Thank you! I was trying to avoid that AT ALL COSTS! There's nothing more dry to me than an onslaught of abilities that do nothing but damage *YAWN*.

Damn, gotta begin again :(

Hey Ferny, can you transfer a save to a new download ??
If so, how ? Looked in the last download file and did not see a save to
transfer over....
It is in the www-file. I don't know if you can see this file.
But I won't recommend this. It was working for the beta but the only change then was the revive-fix.
@Linkis Like Firefly84 advised, it's probably not a good idea to transfer an old save file over to the most recent demo. I changed around quite a few things in the database and some plugins, so it would most likely lead to a few crashes/glitches if you used an old save. :(

BUT...if you still wanted to try it, open up the old demo folder, look under the "www" folder and just copy/paste the whole "Save" folder into the "www" folder of the newest demo.

WHAT????? and get glitched ?? No thank you :)
@Fernyfer775 where did you get the boss music at?
Well I love the game but of course it has positives and negatives.

I love how your characters are. I love Luna and actually having a lot of fun with Wyvern Strike (stocking arrows since I reached teenage) and Kill Shot (spam this broken thing on bosses) also Damien but I hate Ryudo and Trish. Ryudo is good as a drain tank but drain tank does not do a thing when bosses practically oneshot your party members in hard mode. Trish's whole kit is kinda boring and unsatisfying for me and is encouraging the player to use her as nothing but a mana bot. I did not have the chance to try Minerva in the demo so no comment on that one, I think you should make the demo longer for us to try her.

Bosses one shot a person and then the fallen getting revived at the next turn makes Damien and Ryudo obsolete compared to others, and Damien's resurrection ability is useless because of that. Mana management is better than throwing an Ether or two but it being entirely on one character (sup Trish) kills it for me.

I loved your story, world is not a harsh nor honorable place and saving one of the 3 mages was the hardest decisions for me. (I wanted to save them all but stuck between water or spirit magi.) I also love Luna saying that the soldiers were already mindless creatures to begin with, that summed up all my thought about the Spellhunter Crusade. (I named them that because it is fitting.)

I'm playing in Hard Mode, too.
First: Train your party at least until the enemies have a blue "!" on top and flee in each location.
Second: Luna and Ryudo are damage dealers, Frenzy Barrage and Obliverate are breaking trough most damage absorbing shields.
Third: Damien is a healer first. Revive + should be the one with heals 60% of Max HP. The mass healing spells + Radiance should focus on healing at once or higher crit healing. Purify + should hit all (especially against Minerva).
Fourth: Trish has Nature Wrath (a must for each battle) and many debuffing spells.
Fifth: Debuffing spells (fire, blood, poison etc. too) are helping much. Look at your equipment: Choose it wisely and keep restorative ones. There's a color code for it, too: gray - green - blue - red - purple - multi colered (Fernyfer has written it somewhere)
Sixth: Look how the bosses react. You get a warning before their strongest attacks. With Medi Guard (yes this skill is helpful) you can survive them.

Hard Mode should be hardcore. But is beatable...
The 5 people battle system makes my mouth water, are there any other games on this site that feature that?
I like this game a lot, especially the battel system and the characters :) The storyline is also enjoyable.

I was playing in hard mode, and its really hard - not finished now...but will soon! Go on with some nice stuff.
I got stuck in the Volatile Caverns in the first room - I dont get how the mechanics with the flames should work.

There are 3 flames: blue, red and yellow do I have to change the colours somehow to get the right colour for the first door, which has a green and purple button.

But how to do so? when I interact with the flames it only shows the colour but no option to change it.. //

AAAh sorry ! Problem solved I found the torches next to the door :) Cool mechanic!!

Can u help?^^ Or ist the cavern not finishes yet?

to the new battel system changes:
Very nice ! But now it is much easier in Hard Mode to fight Minerva or I just leveld up some more
@Kay94 - Were you able to figure out the puzzle?

If not, check below for the answer:

It's a color puzzle.
Green is made up of BLUE and YELLOW. -> For the green one, put a Blue and Yellow fire on it.
Purple is made up of BLUE and RED. -> For the purple one, put a Blue and Red fire on it.
Hey there, I'm really enjoying the game so far! I've been playing it non-stop since I've downloaded it. I first tried it on hard and kept dying, so I switched it to normal and I think this is more my type of difficulty, hahah.

I just had a question about the Pixie boss you fight in the Volatile Caverns. I'm trying to figure out what her pattern is for when she does her kill attack because I usually lose 2 people when she does it. Is there a way to predict when she's going to do it?
