Current Version: Final Release v1.1.2

Synopsis
The genocide of the magi has begun. The Empire has spread it's reign around the globe. Why now though? After all these centuries of peace, why would the Empire want to eradicate the magi from existence? Is it truly out of fear for the powers that magi can posses, or is it something far more sinister...?

Gameplay
Eternal Twilight is an old-school styled fantasy RPG with a Turn-Based battle system. I have made much use of the plethora of amazing scripts that Yanfly has created for the MV system to bring a battle system that is familiar, yet original in its own right. I am a firm believer of quality over quantity when it comes to designing a battle system and the types of skills a player has at their disposal. The battle system in Eternal Twilight features the following:

  • Unique weapon/armor system, where enemy drops will "randomly select" a rarity for the item dropped, granting bonus stats to that item! Legendary Bronze Sword anyone? YES PLEASE!
  • Intelligent enemy AI that will keep the player on their toes. The AI will respond according to the player's actions to make sure "LOL-SPAM ATTACK" will lead to the players demise.
  • Five unique character classes, each with a vastly different play style than the last!
  • Skills come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from Instant cast spells that don't consume the character's turns, to very powerful attacks, buffs, and heals that have cooldowns, making sure the player strategically chooses when to use certain abilities.
  • This and much more!

Eternal Twilight v1.1.2 is LIVE!

Hey everyone! Long time no talk! Just chiming in to say that I have uploaded Eternal Twilight v1.1.2, which just addresses some balancing/difficulty. Okay byeeeee~~~~ :D

=== General Balance Changes ===
* Non-Boss enemies have had their MaxHP reduced by about 5-10% across the board.
* EXP gained from all non-boss enemies has been increased by +5% and all bosses now reward +%10 more EXP when defeated.
* The DEFENSE stat has been slightly buffed, reducing enemy damage by about 5% more than before.
* Soul Trigger has been buffed: Stat boost increased from +15% to +20%, MP Cost reduction increased from 10% to 20% reduction, and TP regain increased from +5% to +10% per turn.

=== Character Changes ===
Luna:
* Barrage and Raining Arrows damage increased by 5%

Damien:
* Holy Fire damage increased by 10%
* Smite damage increased by 5%

Trish:
* Wind Chi damage increased by 5%
* Gaian Tide damage increased by 10%

Ryudo:
* Wound and Body Slam damage increased by 10%
* Shadow Strike and Obliterate damage increased by 5%

Dev Notes: Some of you may be wondering: "Why make the game easier now?" Well, I take great pride in the difficulty and balance of Eternal Twilight, but I also know that the difficulty can and is turning away a good amount of players. To make the game more approachable for the more casual player, I decided to tone down the difficulty a bit. I put in so much time, love, and effort into my game, and as a dev, I WANT people to play it. If making the game slightly easier gets more people to play the game, then that's the price to pay! Ferny... over and out! :D

I think i'm stuck.. again. I can't seem to finish the next boss fast enough. I break the first shield right before the countdown ends and defend all the way until turn 35 ish (until the second shield come off). The boss damage at that point seems to be so high that my party member keep on dying if they are not defending. I only can reduce the boss HP to 300k ish in 40+ turn before my party wiped out. Is there something that i miss?

At this rate i think i might even get stuck on the last boss of this dungeon too..
@aquatorrent - You're almost to the final boss, you totally got this! From what you wrote, I am pretty sure I know which boss you're fighting. Guarding until her 2nd shield wears off isn't the appropriate approach.

Breaking through her 1st shield before the countdown is a test to see if you can deal enough damage to her. Since you are able to get through that phase of the boss, that means you can definitely defeat her. There's nothing really unique about this fight in terms of mechanics.

Once her 2nd shield is up, just keep attacking her. Her shield is actually decaying on it's own by about 10% at the end of every turn, so the more damage you deal to her, the faster her 2nd shield breaks.

Once you've broken her 2nd shield she takes a ton more damage from all your attacks and you'll be able to take off the rest of her HP fairly quickly.

This fight is all about speed. If you take too long to kill her, her damage ramps up too high and she will win, so just keep whacking away at her!

@t28nguye - That's an unfortunate "side-effect" of having too much MP COST REDUCTION on Minerva. She will eventually need more HP than she actually has and won't be able to cast any spells lol. Another thing you could try is slapping some LEECHING glyphs/accessories to her so that she can heal her own HP as she deals damage. I would just swap one of those Infinity Necklaces off of her and it should keep her below that weird threshold. Luna does very well with an Infinity Necklace if you need an alternative party member to use it! :)

1. I equipped everyone with both Infinity Necklaces.
2. If I equip Minerva with only one Infinity Necklace, her agility might be less than Damien unless she has another accessories to boost her agility . As a result, Damien heals everyone before Minerva does her attack. As a result, Damien cannot heal Minerva before the boss does attack on the team. As a result, Minerva can die easily.
3. I equipped Minerva with Osmosis argument, which does not change her HP at all when she does damage. I also equipped her with leeching argument on her weapon, which does not help much.
4. If I replace critical glyph with leeching glyph for her. Her critical chance will be reduced but in your manual, you suggest Minerva's strength is critical chance. That is why I try to boost her critical chance.
5. Minerva has a lot of MP, which is not used often. Would you add an "instant" healing skill for her so that she can heal herself every three turn. OR Minerva already has "DRAIN" Skill. Would you change to let her drain more HP?
6. I can equip Minerva with both Infinity Necklaces but I cannot use her Metastasis or Blood Burst. Otherwise she will not have enough HP for Ultimate.
Would you please double the seraphic key drop after defeating each boss? I have to repeat fighting each boss at least 8 times to buy equipment, argument and upgrade stats for everyone.
@t28nguye - Wow, you've bought an Infinity Necklace for everybody!? You must've already farmed the hell out of the bonus bosses hahaha... as for increasing the amount of Seraphic Keys the bosses drop, I'm going to leave it how it is, because the bosses already drop more keys depending on the Class they're in. Class A drops 3, whereas Class C only drops 1, for example.

As for the thing with Minerva, unfortunately, that's not something I know how to easily fix, since you need an absurd amount of MP COST REDUCTION to start running into HP problems with her. If you want her to have more Agility than Damien, I suppose you could always try adding a few AGILITY augments/glyphs to her gear to make her faster than him?

Are you sure Class A drops 3? I saw 3 keys drop but I only have one key in my inventory. Same as class B.

You just need to increase power for Minerva's "DRAIN" skill so that she can absorb more HP. Right now she can only absorb 1/2 of her HP. You just need to double the power for her "DRAIN" skill. And the problem is solved. She can only use DRAIN after 6 turns.

If you look at my savefile, I try to maximize Minerva's damage as much as posible. There is no augment left for "AGILITY". I cannot sacrifice her "CRITICAL" stat. Without second infinity necklace and critical stat, Minerva is not as strong as Luna and Kyudo.

Actually the reason why i chose to defend after the second shield is up is because the boss damage is increasing so much that my party members keep on dying in one turn even after using soul trigger and have a lot of absorption shield on. I also have either protection aura or vitality active and it still happened, especially if the boss is attacking the same person more than once. The second shield is just too much to survive without defending for me since i need to deal 1.3m damage to the boss in that state..
@aquatorrent
I do not know how you equip your team. But I recommend as follow to boost your damage and defense

Luna: Bow (Critical, Balance, Shock, Death)
Coil (Agility), Vest (Attack), Boots (Regeneration), Vamps (TP charging)
Brahman's Bangle, Ring of Souls
Seraph Relic (Attack, Agility)
TP Charge IV

Damien: Staff (MP Saving, Defense, MAttack, Mattack)
Hat(Conserving), Robes(Regeneration), Shoes(TP charging), Gloves(Defense)
Ultimate Ring or Mythical Bracer (depending on what you have)
Seraph Relic (MAttack, Spirit)
TP Charge IV

Trish: Mallet (Bleed, Flame, Venom, Breaker)
Hat(Regeneration), Robes(Striking), Shoes(Striking), Gloves(Defense)
Ultimate Ring, Mythical Bracer (depending on what you have)
Steel Ward
Seraph Relic (Striking, Striking)
Critical glyph IV

Ryudo: Sword (Critical, Balance, Destruction, Attack)
Platehelm(Regeneration), Chestplate(Striking), Greaves(Attack), Armlets(TP Charging)
Ultimate Ring or Mythical Bracer
Delta Bracers
Seraph Relic (Attack, Striking)
Critical glyph IV

Minerva: Scythe (Critical, Destruction, Balance, Berserking)
Hat(Regeneration), Robes(Striking), Shoes(Striking), Gloves(TP charging)
Infinity Necklace
Delta Bracers
Seraph Relic (Osmosis, Conserving)
Critical glyph IV

GOOD LUCK! I defeat her in less than 13 turns if I remember correctly.

@t28nguye thanks! Actually, i haven't got any augments on most of my party members.. and even the ones that have been fully equipped (Luna) only has agility augment, haha. I just boosted the main stat actually.

I was still in denial since i need to grind a lot of crystals if i want to make that setup so i ended up fighting the boss again with the defending tactic after switching trish as my soul trigger slave. I finished the fight around turn 40+ ish after i almost got wiped out several times (i'm lucky that Ryudo always seem to be the last man standing after the barrage of attacks). Now that i got a lot of seraph crystals i'll try to build it with your setup. Thanks again!

Oh, also, i can confirm that i got 3 keys from that fight (3 from boss + 3 from the trophy)

EDIT: thanks for the build! The final boss becomes so easy with it.
Hi,

I am playing your game with the newest version. 1.1.2
1. Ryudo does not learn "Instinct" and does not have the second accessory slot.
2. The game is extremely slow when the team gets in sidamo mountain. As a result, I get stuck at the 3 statutes (orange, green and blue). The team moves so extremely slow that I cannot finish the trial before the time is up.

Stuck on the Twilight Temple Puzzle. While I understand it is a nod to Simon Says, hated that game when it came out, lights move way too fast for me to follow. FINALLY got the 2nd part but the 3rd is confusing me. Hopefully it's not random and someone can help me with it.
