This Game is Not Dead! (I'm So Glad This Game is Not Dead!)

Hey everyone! I realize that earlier this year I made a sort of "I'm still working on this" blog, and here I am, half a year later, making another one.

Since then, I have been continuously working on the game, albeit much slower than I hoped. I lost my job earlier this year, and getting several new jobs and getting used to my new situation took a lot of time away from my game-making, as well as adding a lot of stress.

BUT! Things have been improving for me! I'm finally gotten a schedule that allows for more creative time, and I'm on much more stable ground. I've put more work into WaUtaH in the last two weeks than I was able to for a month previously!

I still want to get a new demo out soon, but by the end of this year seems unlikely at this point. I am hoping for an early 2018 release for the next demo (which will feature about half of the full game).

Just wanted to let you know that I'm (still) working on this, and I don't plan to give up any time soon! :DDDDD

Meanwhile, please enjoy a collage of some of the monsters you'll encounter as you progress in the game:

I remember losing my job earlier this summer. I got all excited to start working on my game! I was all rarin' to go! Then I picked up another full time job a month later. Such is the life of the hobbyist dev.

I'm excited that WAU is being worked on again. And the fact that you keep coming back to it no matter what is a sign of dedication and that you're putting lots of love into the project! Keep going!

I was about to suggest joining Revive the Dead 2, for extra Makerscore motivation, but, really, I'm just happy to hear that weird and unfortunate things are still happening!

Sir Redd of Novus: He who made Prayer of the Faithless that one time, and that was pretty dang rad! :D

Great to hear your situation has improved! Searching for a new job is brutal, and it's amazing how you were still able to keep working even a little bit on this.

Good luck with development!
!

I, too, am losing my job in 2 months! It's like... weird and unfortunate things keep happening to all of us.

...man, what is up with this economy, amirite?
I had a similar situation involving finding a place to live, twice, so I'm glad your job problem is settled for now.

Maybe rmn causes people losing jobs.

Yeah, totally. The time available, the creativity, and so many other things... they all ebb and flow and make working on games as a hobby unpredictable. I was able to work regularly for several years on stuff, but only because I had a stable job and favorable situation.

Thanks so much! ^_^ I will! There's so much I've done and much more I want to do in this project. I can't let it go to waste! :D

I thought about that, but given A) I've still been working on it, just really slowly, and B) I can't get it finished in a month, made me decide against it! XD Glad to hear you're excited :D

Thanks so much, Red! Yeah, it's been rough, but I'm just happy that things are getting better and I can devote more time to Gam Mak again!

Awww, thanks so much, Cap! :D
From the ashes we rise. I too have had a haksjkjd year. I've had the opposite issue: I needed to get a second job (that I despise) so my wife can stay in the country until she gets green card and whatnot. Things MIGHT finally be calming down soon.

Anyhow I look forward to this game, super loved the demo! Keep chipping away at this. I will play it when it's done.

I'm sorry to hear it's been so tough for you, unity. But I'm also glad to hear that you're still going strong, and that perfectly good and very fortunate things are happening now.

Wait, that doesn't sound quite right. Or does it?

Anyway, I'm excited to see your progress. Best of luck!
