Heyo! It's been a while since I've last posted on rmn for TDOP, but here I have some of the updated portraits for Melrose.

Melrose’s old and updated portraits. Never stop drawing, kiddos.

Here's also a map I redid!

I'm gonna eventually change the text, but I still think it's quite an improvement in game.

I also casted all of the characters needed in voice acting call on tumblr. I'm very happy with all of the VAs. TDOP is changing so much, it's very exciting!

Well, that's all I have for now. Thank you for reading!

How old is melrose? (the young and the old one)
In the previous one, she looks more young. Especially in the young verion. The new drawings are nice, but why the hell did I always prefer the old ones? Maybe your style changed a bit? Dunno...

Beta testers!? No, this game needs a goddamn exorcist!

I haven't actually measured but their heads appear to be the same size. Chest comes to the same level too, so although it looks it, her height hasn't really changed. I'm always a fan of seeing the character bust behind the text box. It just looks better.

"Never stop drawing, kiddos." I almost cry every time when I see this. Not to brag but I was extremely skilled for my age in elementary and jr high. Then essential tremor happened and I stopped trying since I couldn't make straight lines or controlled curves anymore. If I could go back in time I would've forced myself to struggle through it because now I'm needing to re-learn everything from scratch because I forgot it all, but it cuts down the cost of hiring an artist so much if you can draw basics on your own. Seriously kids, Never Stop Drawing. It'll always be useful.

Younger Melrose just turns 11 in the beginning while regular Melrose also turns 12 in the beginning. The game just passes one years time.

As for preferring the old versions, maybe you're used it and just recognize Melrose/Silas/Whoever that way now? That's how I am sometimes too.

It really does look a lot better opposed to it sitting on the tezt box. I really surprised how good it turned out that way!

You know, I use paint tool sai because that has a really good stanibilizer on it. Maybe that could help you? I use to also line my lines with line tool and you can adjust the curves accordingly. Idk, just a suggestion because I'm pretty bad at lining with out a stabilizer.
Nah, I actually also prefer the old versions (or at least the young version). The style is a little different and I feel like there are more differences between the new and old, where-as the new versions look like the same girl in different clothes, not at different ages. You could probably get away with making 'young' Melrose a bit shorter - girls tend to hit growth spurts earlier than boys, so around 11-12 would be a good age range for a small sudden spurt. Also, the pigtails make her look younger than having her hair tied back.

Art's nice though! Keep it up!

Interesting. I'm surprised that you guys like the old ones more. I guess I like the new ones a lot more because I feel like I've improved a lot but it is really heartwarming to hear that people liked that style. I agree what you're saying about the differences between younger Melrose and present Melrose. There is quite a differencd which is why I made them look closer in age? Idk, I feel like younger Melrose in 2015 could be like 7-8 years old.

Thank you! I'm glad you like the art nonetheless. Hopefully the new style doesn't look too bad. /o\
