ABOUT FIREARMS

Fairheart: An all-around balanced handgun with decent damage and minor recovery. Its Magic Bullet damages all enemies in its path and slows them considerably for a moderate period of time.

Meteor Dragon: A wide-ranged shotgun with damage proportunal to enemy distance. Potentially the most damaging weapon overall. Its very slow recovery is compensated by its ability to auto-guard attacks in a brief moment while recovering. Its Magic Bullet damages all enemies within a short radius from the player.

Rancid Pain: A powerful magnum with slow recovery that causes knockback on smaller enemies. Its Magic Bullet stuns enemies while doubling all damage dealt against them from subsequent attacks for a short period of time.

Scarlet Rain: A pair of submachine guns that compensate for their mediocre damage with no recovery between attacks. Very easy to use. Their Magic Bullets rapidly restore the player's health and reduce fatigue on impact, but deal very little damage.

Commando Javelin: A double-shot rifle with moderate damage and recovery. Repels the player backward from recoil after firing. Using while backed up against an obstruction greatly reduces recovery. It's Magic Bullet propels the player forward and deals major damage to enemies in front of the player while dealing astronomical damage to enemies directly behind the player with its "afterburner."

ABOUT CONTEXT-SPECIFIC COMMANDS

Flickering: Eludes all enemy attacks by teleporting and then reappearing in current position without the need of movement. Much easier to time than Just-Guard (can be performed fairly consistently by simply mashing the chosen button).

Just-Guard: Blocks the enemy attack and deals proportunal damage while reducing fatigue bar. Success is indicated by a special animation. Only works on frontal attacks.

Just-Shot: Firearms will deal double their regular damage if a shot is performed immediately after recovering from the previous shot. Timing is based on the firearm equipped. Success indicated by a flash. Cannot be performed with Scarlet Rain as it is completely automatic.

Parry: Timing a knife attack against an enemy's standard attack will stun them for a long period of time while doubling all damage dealt against them. Only works if player is facing enemy. Very strict timing window—must be attempted the instant before enemy's attack connects.

Lightning Dash: Damages all enemies in the player's path while teleporting. Cannot be used in succession and cannot be used in Panic Mode.

-------------

ABOUT MAGIC

Ensnaring Flame: Stuns all enemies in range for a long period of time. Can flicker while charging.

Flame Stream: A wide-ranged blast that damages all enemies in its path. Damage significantly increased when fatigue bar is empty.

Flame Pulse: Deals damage to all enemies within a short radius from player, renders player briefly invincible, and absorbs all damage that would have been sustained from enemy attacks, adding it to the player's damage for roughly six seconds. Proper timing completely resets fatigue bar. Multiple attacks can be absorbed.

Fortitudinous Flame: Immediately after casting, renders player immune to all forms of knockback. After five "ticks" (indicated by an animation), causes an explosion which repels all enemies within a short radius from player and renders player invincible for roughly three seconds (less than one second if fatigue bar is over half full).

-------------

ABOUT PANIC MODE:

Panic Mode is a powerful transformation which provides numerous benefits related to the player's speed and damage:

- Movement speed is greatly increased.

- Recovery of all firearms is reduced by half. In the case of Scarlet Rain, damage is doubled.

- All damage sustained is halved.

- Teleport recovery is reduced.

- The damage of Flame Stream is increased by 30%; its charge time is reduced.

- The charge time of Ensnaring Flame is reduced.

- Knife attacks are 3x more damaging.

Upon activating Panic Mode, all of the player's HP will be consumed. HP will rapidly regenerate an amount equivalent to the amount of HP possessed prior to transforming, after which Panic Mode will end. Panic Mode cannot be used at all if HP is below 70%.

-------------

ABOUT FATIGUE BAR:

The fatigue bar, located above the HP bar, influences the effectiveness of attacks and damage sustained. Fatigue is increased by casting spells and sustaining damage and gradually decreases over time. It may also be decreased by performing a Just-Guard or timing Flame Pulse correctly. Various effects are granted according to how much fatigue is accumulated:

- When fatigue bar is completely empty, all firearms receive a 25% damage bonus. Knife attacks receive a 50% damage bonus. Flame Stream repels enemies and its damage is significantly increased.

- When fatigue bar is half full, the damage of all weapons is reduced by 50%.

- When fatigue bar is 70% full, enemy attacks deal twice as much damage.

-------------

ENEMY BEHAVIOR:

Enemies vary wildly in skillset, aggressiveness, and general behavior. All enemies possess a basic attack with a range of two tiles. Should the player be within this range, the enemy will briefly pause before attempting to attack, indictated by an animation. Should the player remain within range once the animation has completed, damage will be sustained unless the player is guarding or performs a successful parry or flicker. All enemies may teleport after attacking regardless if the attack was successful or not. Enemies CANNOT damage the player by simply touching them.

All enemy skills (with the exception of certain movement-related skills) are indicated by a visual or auditory cue before they come into effect. Study enemies thoroughly to determine their capabilities and effectively use their own attacks against them!
