Lettre follows the story about a young 13 and a half year old girl called Letty Boxe who works at her family's mailing service. One day she is asked to deliver a letter to a boy called Serif who moved away not too long ago.

And from there an adventure starts to unfold, in more ways than one. How difficult can delivering one letter be?

The game is scheduled to last around 3 hours and has a great focus on character interaction and puzzle solving. The mechanics are simple and the narrative is the key factor in the game.

There will be four towns that you will travel forth and back throughout, and many who will appear during your journey..

Lettre is my first large scale RPG Maker game and I plan to learn a lot from making it. So feedback is welcome.

Musings and other oddities.

Hello everyone. This is the first blog post I'm making on this website, so I hope that it goes reasonably well.

Before I start, I'd like to say some things. Firstly, thank you for all the comments about Lettre. I do appreciate them and I certainly enjoy reading them.

Secondly, I've been slowly getting used to RPG Tsukuru 2003. I wanted Lettre to have a retro look, hence why I chose this version. It has come with its drawbacks, like having to index everything I import, but I like the engine nevertheless.

To create Lettre as a game was to accomplish two things, to tell a narrative and to tell a narrative about a girl sending a letter. Letty was initially only created as the supposed protagonist to the story and from there everything else panned out. Then Serif and the others.

I do worry that I won't meet everyone's expectations for the game. I put simple in the description because I want it to be simple. The puzzles aren't the hardest you'll come across, but I want you to find them interesting, and I want you to find them fun. I hope I'm not asking much if I say that..

In terms of the game's progress, I'd say 7%? That doesn't sound a lot, but it's rather in terms of overall and not individual things. The first town out of four towns is nearly done in terms of mapping, and right now I'm tweaking it around to make sure it looks nice and spiffy.

For some reason I want to note some inspirations I've had to make Lettre. If you see a new name, maybe take a look?

Music

Sayonara Ponytail

So I hope you continue to look forward to Lettre as I continue to work on it!

Love the art and the story seems intriguing. Looking forward to the release! :)
The art is amazing. I hope the story is amazing as well (^ヮ^)
The whole thing looks so cute! I can't wait to play it.
wow the art looks so nice and cute!
Edit: Problem I had solved :D
Edit Edit: Alrighty, I have played the demo, and I liked the game overall. My thoughts:
First let us get the negative aspects out of the way; the game has a few spellng errors and sentences that seem to be a bit weird. The Main characters portrait does not show up most of the time during her dialogue. And there was a bug somewhere but I forgot where to be honest :D Also the dialogue is overall a bit wooden, it does not come off as natural. Espacially the siblings dialogue seemed somewhat off.
That being said I really liked the art style of the game and the overall story got me hooked even though we are barely in yet, so that is worth a thumbs up^^ I am really curious why our protagonist was trapped. The one puzzle in the game was relatively easy, allthough I have no idea why white was the correct answer for the far right mushroom.
So to sum it up: I liked it, shows much potential, needs some polishing :)

Thank you for your feedback! Letty's portrait sometimes not appearing is done intentionally, because she is somewhat a semi-silent protagonist. So it's used mostly when I see a good use for it. Dialogue wise, I'll iron it out and fix the grammar issues and see how it goes. Regarding the puzzle, if the mushroom dislikes all colours - then what colour would they prefer? A colour that isn't seen as a colour or something, lol.

Anyways, the feedback is much appreciated. I knew I left an issue in there or two, so having it pointed out helps!

Ah ok, that was intentional, well it confused me a bit^^ I somehow did not get the message of the mushroom disliking all colors but I guess that was on me :D
