- ROAD TO RACCOON CITY -


On September 22nd, 1998, HUNK operated as commander of Alpha Team with the mission to break into the Raccoon City Underground Laboratory and steal the G-virus from Dr. Birkin.

Birkin was left mortally injured and, knowing its regenerative capabilities, injected himself with a sample of the G-Virus that Umbrella successfully retrieved...

Unfortunately, its mutagenic properties overtook his humanity and transformed him into an unstoppable mutant killing machine.
He destroyed the paramilitary Umbrella Security Service team.

And in the process, vials containing the T-Virus were dropped, releasing it into the sewers which was then carried by rats through the city, leading to a full-scale outbreak....


By September 24, the city was in total chaos...
Most civilians having been infected and subsequently overtaken by the virus...


Less than a week later...



You are a member of Omega Team.

Your unit is spilt up with staggered drop points at key locations.
Along the way you have orders to erradicate
crucial evidence and Umbrella Facilities...

You must complete the tasks and then rendeavous
with the other members of Omega Team for extraction.


There is no room for failure...

Aww, sorry to hear about the game's cancellation.
It's all good, buddy! I don't have a lot of time these days for gam mak and this project kinda hit a wall anyways a years back. Most if not all of my projects will probably not get finished at this point. Thank you and everyone else though that continued to follow. :)

Resident Evil : Road to Raccoon City unrelated to me and hosted elsewhere!

Something crazy I just recently found, this game hosted elsewhere in spanish(probably something else?) with almost 800 downloads! It was definitely a surprise, since I had no knowledge of it and was uploaded by someone else. This is something I don't really mind, just glad to see it out there for other people to enjoy!

Was gonna do a blog but didn't feel it contained enough. So, a comment should do. Progress of this game at the moment isn't the best but it's something I will probably hit back up in the future.

UPDATE!

Download is now updated with many fixes and additions as I spoke of last!

Production is also going smoothly back for this project as well. I will be trying to complete it for good soon this year.

Big update to the demo coming soon!

This project is close to getting where I wanted it with a lot of things smoothed out. I'm currently mostly working on behind the scenes type stuff, so when I get things in order, the progress will start going much faster!

Some updates include:
Sound effects
Balancing
Removed slow scrolling and most of the "files" you can read until I find a better way to do it. So everything flows better now, I feel.
Working on Intro so it isn't a text throw up.
Adding more events and tense situations

I know there's more little things! I'll keep y'all posted.

Looking at the screens, the first thing that jumps out to me is that the UI for the player's health should be a bit easier to see/more prominent. Having it centered at the bottom of the screen and using faded colours, a small bar, and backing-less white font makes it blend into the tiles too much.

Perhaps give it a square, glowing border similar to the hotkeys in that menu shot? Just to keep consistency as well.

I agree, something I didn't really think about for consistency so I'll definitely look into that if I can do it myself!

It was surprisingly well-balanced! Tank's HK MP5 doesn't make him OP due to the claustrophobic environments. The knife is also useful. Starting off with a can of first aid spray instead of a green herb will be better, though.

The zombies are definitely scarier here than the ones in RE6. If you have any plans on making them turn into Crimson Heads, it'll be better.

Overall, I really like it and I look forward to the full release! :D

I recommend making Crimson Heads as detour surprises. Players new to RE series will definitely be surprised!

I'll look into changing it, make it skippable or i'll check out some scripts. In this day and age I have no reason not to. There's probably something perfect out there i'm sure :p

I can look into the double shots! But I believe the way it is allows the bullet to hit the square next to you, whereas early in you couldn't. But I may be able to tweak it slightly further. :)

The scrolling text boxes are more a design choice personally. I want it to be read as all documents are from all the various RE titles, with minor edits and additions.
There is only one file/document that is mandatory to read. Otherwise they are to try to immerse the player by taking away the current surrounding and BGM.
And honestly I don't like text boxes when trying to display a lot of information :(
The scroll text is big and easy to implement.

I'm sorry you don't like it, and I'm sure others might not like waiting through it but I like it as it is right now for design reasons.

Edit: Archeia- I messed around with the settings and i believe the hit box is better. More shots land when you're "rapid firing" Another thing i've noticed is that if the enemy is hit it's possible a second shot might miss because it's registering the first hit. But it should be better now and i'll update the download soon :)
