Wednesday's Knights is a JRPG inspired by and themed after classic tabletop RPG's. It was my official entry for Rpgmakervxace.net's Indie In A Week 2 Challenge. The game features entirely custom graphics and music, and only lasts around 30 minutes.
A group of friends get together one night to start a new campaign of TLD, their chosen tabletop RPG. Everyone at the table is incredibly excited to get started, except for one member who's never role-played before. While on screen, you (the player) will only be able to see the happenings of the role-play world, the focus of the game is on the dialogue and interactions of the rest of the players, who you only get to meet through text. Will everyone have a great time tonight, or will our newest player crack under pressure? Try and roll a 20!
The game is short enough that I feel that summary should suffice. The game focuses more on the interactions between the characters than it does on the plot of the campaign they are playing, as that is the main draw of the game.
- Fully custom graphics
- Fully custom soundtrack (13 tracks!)
- Dice-based combat system
- Aesthetic
- A (singular) dungeon
- Probably some typos
- "Authentic", "Middle-schooler-drawn" battle backgrounds
- Jokes
- One or two good jokes
- A gaming experience
- The same dice-rolling sound effect a million times
- Original?™ writing
- Some stuff I missed
The soundtrack for Wednesday's Knights is available for free on my SoundCloud. The music is licensed under a Creative Commons CC BY-SA 3.0 license. Click the link for further information.
These wonderful people have scripts used by my game:
Yanfly
Hime
Daimonioustails
Mithran
Zerbu
NeonBlack
Gallade
Wavelength
I can't thank them enough.
The rest of the game's assets (aside from a few RTP sound effects) were made by me. Thanks, me, for putting up with myself.
