Announcement

1+ year of silence and the future of Epheria

Hi. It's been... a long time. I'll keep this short and to the point. 2019 was a year of major setbacks for my personal life, but I'm slowly getting back on track and Epheria with it.

Unfortunately the game's original artist isn't available to continue so I've spent two years seeking someone to fill that role. I've found someone and frankly her work is incredible. (Her contact info is at the end of the blog.)

2020 will see work resuming on Epheria in full swing, and once Act One is fully fleshed out and all the art is done, I'll be publishing it more. My goal is to have the full game done by 2022.

Long wait but hey, time makes the heart grow fonder.

Here's to Epheria in 2020.

Big Changes and Demo Coming Soon

Hi everyone.

I've got a big announcement to make soon, and when I do, I expect a lot of people will be confused, but in time. The more important announcement to be made is...

The demo will be updated soon. It'll comprise of the prologue, and the entirety of chapter 1. All in all, I expect that to encompass about 15% of the total game. Six of the eight party members will be playable there, players will have access to ten very different contracts, be able to gamble in the casino, and some more secrets.

I'm trying to go above and beyond for this project for a certain reason, and to that end I'm commissioning several artists to help me produce assets I am unable to. Once this demo is out, there will be no further public demos but I may request testers as time goes on.

As of right now I need perhaps another month to finish the demo and assure quality. As we get closer I'll request further testers. Thanks for reading!

30 Sub Blog: A Thank You, And Some Questions

So this is just a short blog to thank you all for subscribing to my game. It motivates me every time I see that number climb, and I'm dedicated to providing the best experience possible. When I started this project it was to just make something, but now I have a commitment. To that end I want to ask you all something.

For those who have played the more recent versions of Epheria, what did you enjoy? What can I improve on? I want to make this game the best I can, so your feedback would be invaluable to making that a reality.

Thank you for your time, and please continue giving feedback to me! :) See you for the next update!

October 2017 Update

So the game's still in development. I'm trying to make a habit to get one blog post a month to you all. I took the download down for now, since it's causing some errors and I need to sweep all of them.

I'm also going to look for testers once the entirety of Chapter 1 is finished and the sidequests are in place. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks for reading. Not much of an update but I started back to university so it's been kinda slow.

Still in Development, Big Changes Coming Soon

Hey gang, Squall here.

I've been plugging away at the game when I can, and some huge changes are coming to the project. I've decided to remove the Side Story feature, since it made little sense considering how the overall project will end. Instead, a few of the Side Stories will become normal sidequests that give about the same rewards.

I'm doing this for the purpose of rebalancing, and for making less gated content. Originally, the Side Stories were hidden behind the main story and thus, powerful, sometimes essential skills were too. That's poor game design, in my opinion.

Next, a new update is planned for the end of the year and it will cover the entirety of the prologue and Chapter 1. I'm aiming to give the player 15 side quests in that demo, as well as access to the Casino and the Arena.

With that out of the way, back to the dev cycle!

Seeking Testers!

Hello RMN!

I'm currently seeking testers for the current version of Shadow Huntress. Ideally I'd like to get 3-5 people to test so I can get a wide range of opinions. If interested, please PM me on here so that I may include you in the test.

You'll be given a spot in the credits as thanks and I'll play test your project in return.

Rebranding, Direction and the Project's Future

Hello again! It's finally come full circle. I've been working hard to get this title ready for proper play, but I've finally decided.

This game is now titled Generations of Epheria: The Shadow Huntress. The title will make more sense as the game progresses, and with the name change comes many gameplay, editing and other changes.

Some big things
+Kylia has a new skill set that better emphasizes her role
+Characters and monsters have been re-balanced to provide a more fulfilling experience
+There is only one guild to join but it will span well into the post-game
+Characters no longer learn skills through expending AP
+There is a new, flashier battle HUD
+Skill animations are being re-vamped, slowly
+All current maps have been remade

Thank you for supporting my project and I hope to see you all as it progresses.

Me, Dream Chasers, The Future and Thank Yous

Hello all. I just wanted to take some time to address the future of the project and say thank you for all the support so far.

I started this project as a way to learn MV like I did with Ace. As I did, I realized how this game could fit into the world of the Epheria, something I've been working on my entire life. This project will be a year old and the main story is already 20% complete. I'll be continuing to work hard on the project well into 2017 and I hope it'll be fully complete by 2018.

Recently, a lovely person on the official forums has offered to remap some of the game's areas for me, and I'd like to share some of their work. These screens are still a WIP though, so please bear with any possible errors.

Finally, allow me to say thank you for playing Dream Chasers. I truly want to make this a memorable experience for you all. When I started this project, I never expected anyone to play it, enjoy, or give feedback. I have 24 subscribers as of this posting, and to each one of you, thank you. Every time I start to doubt myself, I look at that number and remember I have 24 people who want to see this project thrive. Or so I tell myself.

In order to make this project the best it can be though, I'll need your help. If you find a bug, or some game breaking feature, exploit, or just something I missed, shoot me a PM or drop a comment on the gamepage.

I'll be working hard to incorporate the new maps, with new scenes and music, and have the V0.3.0 demo to you as soon as I am able.

With that, have a Merry Christmas/Happy Holiday, and a great New Year. Kylia, Tobias and the team will be here next year.
