I'm still working out some of the damage values and animations, but it still looks pretty neat!

This looks very smooth, and clear. I like it a lot.

The only minor point I have is the damage figures. They're a higher definition than the pixel font and the numbers used in the actual HUD. It's no deal breaker, but to me it stood out immediately.

Don't worry about the damage numbers, they won't look like that in any future release or anything. They're something I've meant to fix, but never really gotten around to, you know? They're not very high on my priority list lol. The proper damage values will likely just be an enlarged version of the numbers associated with the health and whatnot.
