With the advent of jump-drive technology, Man's dream of exploring the galaxy has come at last. This claimed many lives, but, not as many as when they came across the Dohimquildsaetcqu. Fighting in mechanized armored suits, humanity was long at a large disadvantage, it seemed like it would take a miracle to just survive. The discovery of Galxium, a sturdy mineral that could more easily withstand attacks than more traditional materials, certainly helped. However, humanity was still very much in dire straights.

The Kamiyama is one of many vessels in the Terran Alliance right at the front lines of this war. Her mission is to verify the existence, or nonexistence, of the God Nakaishi; an armored suit of such exceptional power that it could bring the tide of war to humanity's side.

Crackdown!

First, allow me to apologize profusely for this game's perpetual hiatus. I'm not going to tell you how much good stuff has been done with this game in the background, because there is no news to tell. However, I will do as much with this game as possible, and aim to be finished by the end of the first quarter of the year, as per my resolution! I hope this is acceptable.

As something of an aside, I've not been entirely idle just mostly so. For an idea of what I've been up to, allow me to refer you to this thread.

I know, right? I mean, this idea is seriously ancient. Older than Matsumori Days, even. Though, it took some figuring out what kind of game it wanted to be in the first place, not to mention learning enough about GTBS to have an inkling of what I could do with it. I probably haven't scratched the surface of it, but, I hope to get a demo out within the next week or so.

Don't mind me! I'm just updating the screenshots with facesets! I'm a little concerned with Toshie's expression, though.

I'm doing a few last-moment check-ups for this game in preparation for the release tomorrow. The barrier I set up to block out players from advancing the plot might be just as silly as the "But were' right on top of it" pun I used in Arbiters.

Download updated! Apparently, I must have done something during compression so that only the Audio directory was included? This demo should actually be playable, given that you also have the run-time-package for VX Ace installed.

Sorry for the mess-up, and thanks to Zakariya for the heads-up!

This is pretty cool. I only got up to finishing the Lenneth one but I really enjoyed it. The crew has a good jive and this is my first time playing an SRPG made in RM. It's one of my favourite genres (one of my backburnered projects is meant to play like a mix of Super Robot Taisen and Langrisser 4PSX) and I do so love mecha (In addition to a video game I'm developing a mecha-themed board game). Oh, I also played the simulation missions too.

I found some potential bugs and other oddities. Some I was unsure of. I put them here for you to look at. http://imgur.com/a/EqGGi

Your AI is easily abused but you do a good job of covering it up with your maps. I like how your units are very task-specific. I'd like maybe a bit more customization but not in such a way that units can blend together.

All in all this is really fun and I'm sad to see it on hiatus, but I've subbed and I'll keep watching to hopefully some day see it completed.

A few responses to that feedback, if I may.

1) I'm not sure what you're trying to say with this one. Are you saying my English is off, or that you think "Izo" is a funny name?

2) Welp. That's easily fixable. Thanks!

3) Yeah, that's exactly what I meant. Thanks!

4) I remember doing a small bit of research in regards to army ranks in Wikipedia, and a Second Lieutenant was over a Sergeant Major. However, I wasn't sure if a full rank should to be used in this context, and just saying "Sergent" didn't seem to be a good idea, as that's the literal rank of both Midori and Toshie.

5) This cut-off has more to do with GTBS not recognizing hard returns when it displays skills. Well, no, let me correct that. It does recognize hard returns, but it displays a rectangle rather than beginning a new line. I'm not sure how to go about correcting this!

6) Oh, bother! Okay, I'll have to see what's going on there.

7) I used "up" to refer to the direction she'd go screen-wise, but, I can see where you're coming from. What do you think I can use instead?

8) I'll fess up to referencing Valkyrie Profile on this point. Though, I did look up names of Valkyrie on Wikipedia at some point to see what names I could use. For example, I thought of using "Skuld" instead of "Silmeria" and "Kara" instead of "Lenneth". I may yet do that.

*Edit: How long this stays on hiatus will depend on what's up with Might be Magic. I've recently gotten a PM from TungerManU about it, and am in the process of talking to the other members of that team to see where the interest lies.

1) Missing a word in the 2nd sentence. And Izo has a funny face. Again, I don't think Izo's face is a bad thing. Just commenting.

3) I know how you feel. I said "The ghost is clear" instead of "the coast is clear" for 20+ years. I was almost 30 when somebody finally corrected me.

4) Sorry, I've got no idea. I looked up some stuff before making the comment and it seemed all up in the air to me.

5) Sorry I can't help with it. I only poked around in VXA some and have only gotten serious with MV.

7) Maybe just "North." 1 sec. I forgot to turn my coffee pot on. ok back. The player will use cardinal directions anyway so you might as well embrace it. Another option is to be vague and say "over there" or "that way." since the characters go their separate ways anyway, the actual direction isn't important. It's shown to us.

8) Nothing wrong with references so long as they fit and the game's not too serious for them. I always follow a rule of thumb that "if a western tabletop RPG or a Japanese video game seems like they're referencing history or mythology, they're likely fudging the details somewhere. It's just how it goes LOL. Go ahead and try and tell an FF8 fan that Quizzy wasn't a flying electric slug. He'll punch you right in the mouth for it.

*Best of luck with your work. Your stuff deserves more fans.

1) Ah, it was missing a "to". Thanks!

4) I suppose I could side-step the issue. Like, Naora has used family names as a formal reference on occasion, so, that might be one method.

7) I could see me using "over there" or "that way", and maybe have Naora face the direction she's talking about for a brief period.

8) For five seconds, I thought you were talking about Quistis rather than Quezacotl. Welp.

Thanks!

New images added today, but I haven't updated the download as of yet. I'm staving that off until Mission 2 is done. The word on the street is that Might be Magic is going to be worked on in November. So, the idea in my head is make the Mission 2 release something of a Christmas present for you guys and do Secret Santa on top of that. However, I'll relay more information as I learn about the situation with Might be Magic.

As an aside, I might want to fix the image in regards to Midori's "anyhoo". Not a huge priority right now.

Aaaaaaannnnnnd, the no-RTP download has been updated, and a self-contained download has been added! Though, maybe there could be more things added, I think I just want to move on.

Hey, wait... Is this game the type of game that I think it is?
How did I not see this before?

Download(s) updated! The "loose events" mentioned by NTC3 should now be removed!
I really, really liked this game. The feeling of seeing the entire crew come out of the ship for the final battle was awesome, and when it was finished, I wish I knew more about the characters and their world.

I think there's loads of potential here. Any thoughts on continuing the game or expanding it into a larger story (sequel)?

I suppose it's a little sad that the Crew Quarters and Sick Room, are basically not being used for anything. Like, the original, terribad XP version of this game had equally terribad romance options. It was among the considerations for this game. Noara didn't exist back then, but, Midiori comes across to me as a woman that could swing either way.

However, at this time, I just have zero inclination/hype/energy/whatever to work on this game. That's not to say I won't ever come back to it, but, if I do come back to it, it might be some time from now.
Yeah I noticed the crew quarters and sick room, and it made me feel as though I missed a hidden event.

I completely understand what you mean. If you ever do come back to the project, you've got a fan!
