Hype! Was waiting for this for quite a while! Surprised it came out so fast!
Yeah, it was moments away from being finished, just had to address those script errors mostly. :P
Yay demo. Yay Pepsi, you have good taste J-Man.
Not posting on the download page since it's not related to any bugs or anything of that sort:
Well, I am at the point that I recruited Fran and got Element Fusion things and I can't help but notice similarities to one of a more recently released games (less than two years): Tales of Zestiria. I don't know if you played it but I'll try to avoid spoilers for it in case you might play it.
1. The main character is a blade-wielding history nerd. Well, Zack is not on the same nerd level as Sorey IMO, plus Zack uses katanas while Sorey uses ritual swords.
2. Four big elements that has a playable character in the party: Yumi - Mikleo (water, also first elemental party members and use similar weapons: Yumi uses spears and Mikleo uses staffs), Silva - Dezel (wind, also both utilize daggers but in Dezel's case it's a bit different), Fran - Lailah (fire), plus the inevitable earth-oriented character whom I'm yet to recruit so nothing on them from me for now.
3. Fusing with your elemental allies, although I think you take a better approach on that. Zestiria's fusion system is an overpowered mess. And well, when Zack fuses with others his appearance doesn't change so a difference. ;)
4. Overlimit system (although Zestiria doesn't have it, Overlimit is a recurring gameplay element in the series).
5. Collecting element incarnates/spiritual powers to save the world (there's some degree of overlap, but your take is really good).
6. That hooded person working with Alexander: their outfit resembles the outfit of one of the guild members from Zestiria quite much.

I realize that since Phantasia series is a jRPG series, like the Tales of series, there will be overlaps over some aspects, but honestly IMO I think I like your game a bit more than Zestiria.

Also, I like your writing on Silva: he's got a bit of a perv vibe around him, but you can sense he is not all about that, especially with him giving nicknames to others (which reminds of a certain someone from Zestiria but that is stepping into a big spoiler territory ;P ).
WELL! I'll have you know that I did beat Tales of Zestiria. And I won't lie when I say that ToZ did have a part in the inspiration for how the characters were being made.

But, if you've played my other previous entries, the incarnates did have an actual elemental form in the previous games and were essential to the plot in nearly every Phantasia game before hand, so having them reincarnated as being playable is probably why you got some ToZ vibes.

As for the hooded character, I was more inspired by the design of Yin of Legend of Heroes: Zero no Kiseki. Look her up and check the similarities there.

And as for the Element Fusion thing, once again ToZ did have a bit of influence, but also the Disgaea series in the Magichange function. I hated how the fusion system worked in Zestiria. And since I was using a simalar system, I wanted to make sure that you could at least be able to switch out the main character, so he's not even required. If you noticed in ToZ, you HAD to have Sorey and Rose in your party. At least in this, you won't have that issue.

But one thing's for sure, the story is no where the same as Tales of Zestiria, sure there may be one or two similarities. But most of that is also building off of the previous games stuff as well. The Phantasia series has been heavily influenced by the Tales of series in the past, so it's no different here.

I'm glad you like some of the characters at least though. ;)
Probably a stupid question, but I don't really know, but is the Phantasia series your own series? Because I'm lost. I thought it was made by some big company or something?
Well, the Phantasia series is my own series, yes. But some people sometimes confuse it with Tales of Phantasia. But the origin of where I got the name isn't where you'd think.

See, my cousin and I used the RPG Maker for ps1 years years years ago, and when he named his title screen, he called it "Phantasia" I liked the name and decided to use it.

If there is a company that uses the name, then it'd be news to me. :P
Well, I might confuse the word "Phantasia" with a variation of its spelling from some other game, but I assure you it is not confused by me with "Tales of Phantasia".

Phantasia 6 is my first game TBH, but I enjoy nonetheless.
You draw very nicely from the Tales of series; actually, it's pretty rare to see a game paying a tribute to that series since Final Fantasy series is the more popular one.
