Dry Fate

There's a little snippet of dialogue near the beginning that says if the monsters are going anti-clockwise, it should be switched to the left, and if it's clockwise, switch it to the right. This dialogue is non-repeatable, so if you miss it by accident the first time, you're probably going to have no clue. It'd be cool if each time you talked to the NPC you saw the clue. Lucky, I remembered there was something to the effect of a clue said near the entrance, but when I went back to to talk to the NPC, it didn't repeat any information, so I thought I might have imagined it. So I went into the editor (gasp shock horror -- sorry) and I found the line of dialogue that set out the rule.

So yeah, moral of the story -- if you have a puzzle that relies on some sort of rule stated somewhere else, make sure that you can return back to that place and repeat that rule, otherwise you're relying on: 1) the perception of the player at that particular point in time; 2) the notion that they'd interpret this information as being important to the puzzle (it was worded in such a way that the meaning might be a little cryptic), and; 3) the player's memory, or the player having to write down this information on a piece of paper, having thought it to be much more important than the rest of the text. This doesn't seem like a fun way to test the player's skills to me.
