She won't stop screaming in the dark of night. I visit her grave and ask her to stop, but it never helps.

A short horror game following the mundane tasks of a woman who wakes up in the middle of the night. What she sees or hears might not always be up to par with what she remembers.

Ayda was originally created for the official RPG Maker Birthday Bash Game-Making Challenge. It was developed within a month and is the first game I've publicly released. I hope you all enjoy this brief experience. -Raikuden

Small Update Incoming

I've had the pleasure of watching a few people do let's plays of Ayda recently, and I'm really quite amused of the reactions. Nothing like a few cheap scares to keep people on their toes~ :)

On a serious note, I'd like to reiterate that Ayda was released for a game making challenge that I participated in the last two weeks of the scheduled deadline, so I apologize for the very incredibly short experience. There was plenty more I had planned to add, but ended up being cut out.

There are a few updates that will be added. One of which are new bathroom tiles, as the ones at the moment are not in the same style as the rest of the game. Secondly, I'm happy to announce a Spanish translation by AislingCait coming soon.

So again, thank you all for checking Ayda out! -Raikuden

Beta testers!? No, this game needs a goddamn exorcist!

This fits my "short and sweet" category just fine. I especially dig the music (Joel Stuedler? I'll look him up) and complete lack of wasted space. Good job.

Joel is a fantastic musician! Specifically, I used the Innocence theme from his Survival Horror Music Mega-Pack.

Just finished the game. It's pretty decent for a short game, if not for the style clash in the bathrooms.
Also, did you possibly use this tutorial I made for the title screen?

Yup! I needed a great looking title in a small amount of time and your tutorial popped up in Google! Thanks a lot~ Managed to replicate the process in Photoshop.

This was a okay experience. more then anything i liked the lighting this had.
also the mapping was great consistent and to the point.
the bad for me is the plot and characters naturally with the amount of time the game lasts for its quite weak. and i am not fond of this style of story (player theorys)
i want info given to me i don't like to assume or make my own version of what i think is going on.

Overall
despite complaints due to length its okay. just okay.
Hey,Raikuden!

I have played your game and I love it. I'm a translator so I have translated your game to Brazilian Portuguese. Here is my site: http://lovefc.wix.com/traducoes#!ayda/l6joa

Keep creating good games like this one! ;)
Great storyline and endings! Great job c:
Played the game, the atmosphere was really nicely established, and the surroundings dropped hints just subtly enough for the feel of "Oh! I figured it out!" to feel good.

I can tell you used the Innocence Lost song for most of the game... I really like that song so you appealed to me there :D
Mapping was tasty, I generally really like pop horror and combined with the good style of mapping its really nice eyecandy.
Story was straightforward, as short as it was, it lead up to the end properly.
4/5 for me, I like shorts like this
Nice little short game but uhmm...screen was a little small or was that just me?.
Hello, Raikuden. I wanted to ask your permission to translate your game to my language, Portuguese. I'll be waiting for your reply. ^^
Hi Raikuden. I loved the game.

I'm new to RPG Maker and just loving it so far. I was wondering if you could tell me how you did the lighting effect surrounding the main character and the music transitioning (where it sounds smooth changing tracks).

I would really appreciate some insight on this as I'm working on a horror game for one of my friends for Christmas.

Thank you! Keep up the awesome work!

A very special game. That's it. No words are needed to describe this masterpiece of the psyco horror. It's just awesome. With only 15 minutes you are able to enjoy a very colourful and good looking game and at the same time feel a little of anxious or that "wtf is happening" feeling.

In my opinion, this kind of short games but with a very intense narrative and special dialogues are the best. You don't need a long and complex story or maybe a lot of difficult as hell puzzles. It just a matter of feelings. Of course if you manage to take all this elements together in one game that would be simply brilliant (or in other words, the Silent Hill franchise).

Anyway, a special game that could be inspiring for some new game developers. Thanks m8
